What chips to serve at your party
These chips are made for dipping!
Could there be a more perfect reason to make a batch of homemade tortilla chips? Delicious chips and dip go together like cashew butter and jelly sandwiches, or cake and vegan frosting!
Don’t feel like you have to stick with tortilla chips, either. Many salsas are made with tomatoes, but other fruits as well! Things like peach salsa are delicious on healthy crackers.
ADD SOME COLOR!
Make your snack bar prettier by adding a pop of color. There are plenty of gluten free options available.
Place baskets of blue corn chips, black bean chips, and roasted red pepper chips in the middle of your snack bar, then surround them with bowls of salsa and other dips.
How to serve warm dips
Although fruit salsa is fantastic cold, cheesy dips like vegan con queso are best when they’re warm.
A couple of tips for keeping dip warm during your party:
- Heating pad – Place a heating pad underneath a linen tablecloth, then set the bowl of dip on top of it. To prevent any possibility of fire, this is NOT recommended for paper or plastic table cloths!
- Mini Crockpot – There are a couple of appliance manufacturers who make small food and dip warmers, but they can be pricey. The Crock-Pot brand makes and sells those as well, but they ALSO sell a 1.5 quart slow cooker. It works perfectly for warm dips, and it is less expensive than a dip warmer!

VEGAN CON QUESO
To make this vegan salsa recipe, click over to my vegan salsa con queso recipe post.
This is one of my favorite warm dip recipes, and it seems like no matter how much I make, it’s never enough. Fair warning: it will disappear as quickly as you make it!
The dip is plant-based and Whole30 friendly. It’s made using fresh vegetables and a hint of Tex-Mex spices.
STRAWBERRY AVOCADO SALSA
To make this delicious fresh salsa, you will need to visit the avocado salsa post for the recipe.
Originally, the salsa was made using fresh cranberries. One of the great things about the recipe is its versatility. If cranberries aren’t in season, it’s not a problem. Just use ANY fruit that is!
This dip will make the perfect addition to your snack bar! It’s impossible to mess this one up. It literally takes just a few pulses in your food processor or high speed blender and it’s ready to eat!
SWEET AND SPICY FRESH SALSA
This one is going to be a major hit at the salsa bar! It’s actually a cucumber salsa, but with a punch of sweet and spicy flavor from grapes and jalapenos!
CHIPOTLE PEACH SALSA
You and your guests will love the smoky sweet flavor of this dip. Your snack bar should have a couple of flavor options for people who can’t tolerate spicy foods, so be sure to identify which chips and dip options are at the party especially for them!
Alright, I think we have officially ended salsa series week with a bang! And I hope this snack bar idea persuades you to gather the family, your appetites, and celebrate cinco de mayo, or any season really! Because when life hands you salsa, you make a salsa snack bar party!
What are you celebrating today? What’s your favorite type of salsa? Do share!
Cheers,
