Allergy-Friendly Snacks For Kids

A few years ago I helped Attune Foods at the Gluten-Free Expo in Dallas. I was there to answer any questions about their gluten-free products and the safety of their production for celiac’s, etc. You know what shocked me the most? All the kids. All these kids had one form of gluten-sensitivity or celiac and were prescribed a gluten-free diet due to their health condition.

These kids would run up to me excited to be able to eat cereal! Not the cereal that looked and tasted like styrofoam. The cereal that tasted legit, yet was still gluten/dairy-free. Their little faces lit up with joy when I told them that.

These are the kids that can’t go to a birthday party and eat the cake. These are the kids that have to bring a special lunch to school. These are the kids that deserve better. Better health, better food, better taste!

Which is why I am posting this round up! When kids with certain allergies go back to school, they won’t feel left out at snack time. In fact, other kids will probably be envious of their delicious snack bites!

I’m literally obsessed with makeing bites now!
Weird, but one of my favorite things to eat after school when I was young was leftover cold mac n cheese from the previous night’s dinner. I would heat it up on a paper plate and put ketchup on it….hahahahaha!

So many choices!! I just whipped up Aurora some S’more Power Balls for next week and I was going to make a couple more (thinking your Salted Caramel Snickerdoodle) for her for next week. I’m sure the girls will finish off most of the s’more ones this weekend at Sammie’s soccer tournament but I’m putting some away for Monday (National S’more Day) for Aurora’s gymnastics. She has camp for 8 hours a day and I really need to make sure she eats as she is in the gym flipping, jumping, running, ect for 7 hours a day! She isn’t a big eater and she didn’t get last time why just fruits, veggies, and a packet of peanut butter plus a Kind Bar for snack wasn’t enough. She learned quickly after the 1st day and was happy I packed lots of extras.
She wasn’t sure if she wanted sprinkle balls as we have made those a lot this summer. She loved your Reeces ones, and those and my S’more were the only ones she could think of that she wanted. We may have to also play with some new flavors but we are really limited on time. :/
