Ingredients and Substitutes
Gluten Free Crust
- Gluten-Free Pizza Dough Mix – We love to use DeLallo’s gluten-free pizza dough mix or homemade pizza crust will work.
- Olive oil and Water as needed
Note: We recommend using a gluten-free pizza dough mix instead of a prepared dough. That way you can adjust the taste and texture to your liking. It’s also so much tastier when you use homemade dough with fresh ingredients! See below for notes on our favorite gluten-free pizza dough mix.
Cinnamon Pizza Toppings and Glaze
- Cinnamon – We use this to brush over the crust and create a crumbly topping.
- Melted Butter – Again, we use this to brush over the crust and create the topping. If preferred, refined coconut oil or dairy free butter will also work.
- Oat Flour – This creates a crumbly consistency (and adds a boost of fiber!). Gluten-free flour works well, too.
- Cane Sugar – Feel free to use a sugar substitute like monk fruit sweetener to keep the sugar content a bit lower. Just note that the taste and level of sweetness will change depending on what you use.
- Coconut Sugar or Brown Sugar– This enhances the sweetness of the topping while keeping it moist and creating a crunchy, crumbly texture. We prefer to use coconut sugar to reduce the amount of refined sugar used.
For the Yogurt Glaze
- Confectioners’ Sugar (Powdered Sugar) – We use this to form the base of the glaze.
- Plain Yogurt – This adds thickness to the glaze and a tangy taste. If needed, use a plain dairy-free yogurt instead.
- Vanilla Extract – A little goes a long way to add depth to the glaze.
How to Make the Best Dessert Pizza Recipe
- Make the dough. Prepare the dough according to the recipe directions. If using Delallo pizza crust like us, follow the directions on the package to make one 9 to 12-inch pizza.
Pro-Tip: The dough makes three to four small pizzas or two medium pizzas. And you can refrigerate or freeze what you don’t use for later! See the recipe card below for details.
- Create the cinnamon topping. Whisk cinnamon and melted butter (or coconut oil) in a small bowl. Brush the mixture evenly over the prepared dough.
- Bake the dough. Transfer the raw pizza dough to a preheated oven, and bake for five to six minutes.
- Prepare the topping. While the dough is baking, mix the flour, sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, and softened butter in a large bowl.
- Top the pizza. Sprinkle the crumble topping over the parbaked crust. Then, return the cinnamon sugar pizza to the oven. Bake until the top is golden brown.
- Cool. Allow the cinnamon streusel dessert pizza to cool on the pan slightly. Then, transfer it to a cooling rack.
- Prepare the glaze. Whisk the confectioners’ sugar, yogurt, and vanilla in a small bowl. Drizzle it evenly over the pizza. Enjoy!
Additional Topping Ideas
Feel free to get creative with any toppings you want to include! For instance, you can swap out the powdered sugar glaze with a cream cheese frosting. Or, a caramel drizzle, white chocolate chips, chopped almonds, coconut flakes, or mini marshmallows for even more flavor.
The Best Gluten-Free Pizza Dough Mix: DeLallo Gluten-Free Pizza Dough!
We’re honored to be part of DeLallo’s new gluten-free product launch! We helped recipe test this pizza dough and can testify that it makes an amazing homemade dough. Plus, it’s extremely versatile!
One thing we love about this dough kit is that the yeast packet comes separately from the mix whereas other options mix the yeast right in. This means you have more control over the texture of the dough. All you do is add warm water and optional oil.
No eggs are necessary, meaning the dough is also suitable for vegans! The preparation process is simple, requiring less than an hour for the dough to rise. (Most recipes call for at least three hours!)

And if that all wasn’t enough to have you running to your local grocery store, DeLallo’s gluten-free pizza dough mix is:
- Made with a blend of chickpea and white rice flours, creating a taste and texture nearly identical to wheat-based pizza dough.
- Dairy-free, vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and non-GMO.
- Made in Italy with high-quality ingredients.
- Quick to prepare and extremely versatile.

To use, allow the dough to come to room temperature for 15 to 20 minutes. Then, shape, bake, and enjoy!Â
We don’t recommend freezing this recipe once it is baked as the pizza is likely to become soggy once thawed. However, you can freeze parbaked (partially baked dough with the toppings). Then, bake it from frozen, adding a few minutes as needed.Â

Notes
Substitute Tips – If you use a sugar substitute, such as a monk fruit sugar substitute, note that the taste and level of sweetness will vary.
Storage Tips – Store the remaining dough (each remaining dough ball) in an olive oil coated ziplock plastic bag (sealed tight without air to prevent it from drying out) or wrapped tightly in plastic wrap and placed in a plastic bag. Keep in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Allow room for the dough to expand as it will continue to rise. Small air bubbles will start to form, which is called cold fermentation. Before using, let the dough come to room temperature for 15 -20 minutes, this softens it enough to stretch.
