These allergy friendly after school snacks are healthy snacks for kids that you’ll love, too! All 5 of these after school snacks are nut free, egg free, gluten free, and vegan. Oh, and DELICIOUS!
This snack recipe post is sponsored by the good people at Enjoy Life Foods. Thank you for supporting the brands that help keep the healthy recipes cranking out of the Cotter Crunch kitchen.
I secretly wish I could going back to school just so I could have the thrill of after school snacks. Come on, admit it, that was your favorite part about elementary school too, right? You finished your day at 3 pm and ran home to tell your mom about your day. She’d pull out the ding dongs (yes, I’m an 80’s child) and you’d dunk them in your milk and reminisce about the day. Poor mom, she had no idea what she was feeding me but at least she tried, and heck, I’m still alive today. Haha!
Nowadays, things have changed a LOT! Wouldn’t you agree? Good and not so good changes. Unfortunately more kids have food allergies or are sensitive to certain foods, that’s the not the so good.
The GOOD news is that there are TONS more allergy friendly snack options, thanks to brands like Enjoy Life Foods.
You see, coming up with healthy and tasty, kid friendly snacks that are ALSO allergy friendly doesn’t have to be hard. As a matter of fact, when you have a stash of Enjoy Life Foods products on hand, it’s crazy easy! And lucky for you, I just happen to have a bucket of them waiting for you!
All of the allergy friendly after school snacks I’m sharing today are combos and creations made with Enjoy Life Foods products. Thankfully, their products are nut free, egg free, dairy free, gluten free, and vegan! The products I used in today’s recipes are:
- Mountain Mix Trail Mix (nut free, egg free, gluten free, and vegan). This trail mix is also lower in sugar than regular trail mix, making it a great option for mid morning or afternoon snacking! Definitely back to school BRAIN FOOD!
- Dark Chocolate Chips (nut free, dairy free, soy free, and gluten free). It’s safe to say that you can have your chocolate (by the handful) and eat it too!
- Protein bites – Made with sunflower protein, each 3-bite serving is packed with 6g of protein and free from 14 allergens and made palm oil free. Yep, dairy free, soy free, grain free, nut free, but delicious!

Allergy Friendly Trail Mix Yogurt
Use coconut milk yogurt again to keep it vegan, only this time, mix it up with some delicious Mountain Mix trail mix. Pretty please make an extra one for me, too.
Protein Balls with Orange Slices, Berries, or Banana
Chocolate protein bites mixed with oranges to create protein balls that taste like a chocolate covered orange. Can you say allergy friendly YUM? I wish my after school snacks had tasted this good.
Not only is this combo rich in protein, but it’s rich in Vitamin C too, making it the perfect IMMUNITY BOOSTING snack.
Mountain Mix Trail Mix with Fresh Fruit or Vegetables
Let the kids enjoy after school snacks of allergy friendly trail mix with a side of fresh fruit and coconut milk yogurt for dipping, or some raw veggies and edamame pesto dip! This snack will fill them up with fiber, protein, and healthy fats! Can’t go wrong with that balanced snack right? Plus I’ll go ahead and say you get cool mom points for having handy dandy to go trail mix packs. Just my two cents. 🙂

Drizzled with some allergy friendly Enjoy Life chocolate, they’re a healthy, allergy friendly snack you can feel great about giving to your kids. Whole grain, gluten free, vegan, and Refined sugar free made TASTY! Oh they are FREEZER friendly. YAY!

Snack time is the best time…am I right?!
you know it! 🙂
I need some of this goodness!!!
Gimme ALL the fruits, the sweet potato, kabocha squash, roasted carrot “fries”, and any protein snacks! As a kid, I could smash down a pound of grapes and those CLIF builder bars. SO GOOD. Haha, I wouldn’t recommend anybody to do that, but it was a definitively delicious time in my life.
Thanks for sharing, Cassie! Snacks in my lunches and after school were my favorite! Many fond memories there. So awesome that kids with food allergies can have fantastic snacks too! 😀
After work snacks for me… don’t mind if I do! 😉

Thanks, Liz! Same here, they are delicious! The first time I had them, I had no idea they were dairy free. I couldn’t even tell! So good.
…and thanks for the delicious nut-free snack ideas!
My daughter has severe tree nut allergies (almonds and peanuts are fine), so we buy Enjoy Life chocolate by the caseload on Amazon. Thank you to Enjoy Life for making chocolate that tastes great and is “worry-free”!
How did I not know this? Oh I need to send you a bunch of Enjoy LIfe food goodies Susie!
I gotta be super real here: I’m relieved I went to school back before food allergies and guidelines got so severe. I feel horrible for kids nowadays, unsure about what’s safe or available for snacks. My favorite after school/back to school snack was always apple slices dipped in cinnamon & peanut butter, with a glass of milk (served with a pink Silly Straw, of course).
Right?! I so agree and feel lucky to have gone to school with such ease. Haha my mom made me peanut butter everything. YIKES! p.s love the pink silly straw
These are great for lunchboxes too!
Absolutely! 😀
I’ll need to check these snacks out Lindsay! I’d go back to school just for the good snackin’!
haha me too!
These are SO good!
These are all so great. I wish I was a kid again too, for this reason alone!
right? You and me both!
