Let’s talk about that statement for a moment. It’s confident, and I like it! I saw this and immediately stood up straight and said “hell ya!” I want to be am that woman! I’m gonna face the day taking that feeling with me, no matter what comes my way. Wanna join in on that? I think so!
Speaking of confidence, let’s talk about a ” little thing I like to call my pallet. Some might say I have an odd pallet, or maybe it’s just confident? I don’t know, call it what you like, but odd is the new “black” these days so I am gonna roll with it. Besides, I heard our taste buds change every 10 years. I’m guessing when I’m 40yrs old I’ll finally like froyo. Ya, not a huge fan. I just broke some food blogger code of conduct!
But this odd/confident pallet has made me the woman I am today, which is happy being in the kitchen.
Thanks Jen, for letting be the kind of woman……
Who likes expensive drinks:Wine and Kombucha.
Yes, I have a kombucha every day and a glass of wine every night.
One glass, sipped slowly, preferably while cooking dinner.
Who is picky about her condiments:
The more foreign, the better. Hand me some GF crackers and I’m set with my French Duck Foie Gras and Vegemite.
Not together of course.
Who is NOT a creature of habit when it comes to snacks/meals :
Goat cheese and strawberry cream cheese mixed together, spread on a corn tortilla with banana and crunchy sunflower seed butter.
Who thinks every meal needs a fresh topping:
Fresh salsa with a little grapeseed oil and lemon juice.
Who has gone from never eating apples, to now eating them in every form:
Galas apples from New Zealand or unsulphured dried apples from Whole Foods. Okay, so I might be a little bias here.
Who prefers to butter her carbs versus dipping them in oil:
Butter my (GF) bread any day and definitely stick it in some rice, white sticky rice to be exact.
Well done buttah!
And while I may be a women who has an odd pallet here, I’m also a rambling woman on Lindsay’s Tuesday Trainer.
Finish this sentence. I’m the type of woman/man who…….?
Cheers,
LC
Ha, the strawberry cream cheese thing is really weird! 😀 I must I’m rather a creature of habit when it comes to food, because I’m so busy with mind all the time and therefore just happy if I don’t have to make big decisions about dinner. So I’m the kind of girl who sets up a big pot of stew and eats that for dinner five times in a row. Okay, it has to be a stew I like. 😉
I am the type of woman who (now) realizes the importance of living in the present moment, instead of always wishing these moments away.
oh thats a good one! easier said than done but always worth the effort. Love it Brittnie.
won’t drive even a mile out of her way to grocery shop. That’s why I no longer go to Target or Walmart.
ditto! good thing we have one right across the way. haha.
Ha! I love this! I’m the type of woman who will eat dips, sauces, jellies, butters, etc., right out of the jar.
I’m there with you on the wine and kombucha…I love treating myself to both things!
oh lauren, we are so similar. Grab a spoon, a wine glass, etc. Youre my gal! I think we knew that though.
Rice and butter…absolutely love it!
its a necessity in life, don’t ya think?
I’m the type of woman who would rather have a beer than a fancy glass of wine. 🙂
Love that saying, girl! So good. Thanks for sharing!
I wish I could! Gluten free beers are just not the same. So have a good one for me, k?
That saying belongs above my bed!! Wine and cooking go hand in hand……I’m never without a good glass of Pinot at dinner.
I’m the type of woman that embraces growing old(er)! And wants to make everyday worth living, just so I have some great stories to tell when I am old!
you and I would get along so well. Wine, cooking, and making great stories!
oh! what’s grapeseed oil like?! i just bought it and i have no idea what to do with it haha, does it have much flav?
i love grapeseed oil! its really light and a tad sweet. Not much though. I use it with dressings with mixing with out vinegars, etc. You’ll like it, A LOT!
YUMMMMMM to everything especially the strawberry cream cheese combo. Reminds me of college when my favorite breakfast was a freshly baked egg bagel with gobs of strawberry cream cheese. Mmmmm me thinks that would be perfect for a post run meal! 🙂
Hope all is well my dear! 😀
oh that reminds me, i need to pick up some GF bagels for that concoction! Great call Jenny! hows the job??
I start on Monday so I’ll let you know! 🙂
I am the kind of woman who is probably a bit too blunt lol oops!
and that is a good thing to me! blunt and bold! hope school is going well.
Yay for Vegemite and NZ galas!!! Oh and wine, can’t forget the vino!
never forget the vino! I knew you’d like that post Lou. A woman with my own FOOD heart. <3
hmmm I am the type of woman who wants to live every day to the fullest.
Unfortunately I don’t think I’ve been doing that, so thanks for the reminder!! I know that I have very weird eating habits, but they are generally healthy so I have embraced it 🙂
i think we all need that reminder. So thank you for stating it Amanda!
I am the type of woman who knows a bad ass when she sees one…and you are definitely a blogger bad ass for breaking the froyo code of conduct! 😉 haha Great post – I love the way you end up making each WIAW different from the last and unique to you. I also loved your video – you give it to people straight and are exactly who you are…Lindsay freakin’ Cotter! 😀
I’m also the type of woman who sees joy in the pain and has learned that God’s direction is so much better than my own, even though I seem to learn this lesson afresh at least once a month. 😉 I am the type of woman who doesn’t turn down candy corn when a friend brings it over at 10 pm…sugar rush as I head to bed. 😀 Night!
youre the bad ass! You give off such strength, God strength. Thank you! I am with you, I learn that God’s ways are better than mine each month. Let’s learn to let go and embrace that! Oh and who could resist candy corn? thats a sin! haha.
i love that quote! it’s such a great way to think of ourselves: strong, powerful, scary, determined, and yet – still a woman in all her feminine beauty! 🙂 great!
ps – i eat canned snails … plain! 🙂 when i’m 40 i’m going to like pastries!
i love you more each day Tianna. Bring over those snails! I’ll share some with you.
🙂
…who loves a good sweat & a good challenge.
Where in the world do you buy Duck foie gras? Ha, seriously?
Your food combinations are, without a doubt, the most unique I come across on the interwebs! I love it! It’s very you; ignore those so-called “food blog world rules”. Be you.
haha, my parents brought it back from France. When I lived abroad, I loved that stuff! i was so so excited. Its like buttah. I think my taste buds belong somewhere outside the US.
I’m the kind of woman who says what she thinks and means what she says!
So when I say I love your eats, I mean it 🙂 Butter > oil in my book! I’m loving your not so run of the mill snack as well – goat cheese is da bomb.
yes you do! and tara, you are so wise for your age. I am always impressed and encouraged by suchc strength!
I love your list!
I am the kind of woman who eats chocolate chips by the handful while chopping vegetables for a salad and who has a husband who snacks on a bag of bacon followed by a pint of raspberries. We’re all about balance in our household 🙂
thats a great balance. full of antioxidants! haha. Keep that up!
I love love love that quote you started the post with!
I think you represent that quote quite well Tina.
xxoo
Love this, Linds! You do have a unique pallet, but that’s part of what makes you YOU! And I have hunch I’d enjoy most of your creations. Maybe not the foie gras. 😉 I’m the kind of woman who is thankful for friends like YOU! xoxo
oh but that foie gras is straight from france. My parents brought it back. SO GOOD! I am the kind of woman is is thankful for YOU TOO! enjoy SF and all the beauty it holds.
<3
LOVE that quote! I need to print that off and put it next to my bed.
I have kombucha everyday too! Used to have wine, but I could never stop at one glass 😉 so had to cut back
xoxo
Michelle
the trick is to pour 2 half glasses. One for cooking, one for dinner. Or maybe I am just a good sipper? haha.
I LOVE that saying…. love it! haha I don’t know where you find all of these clever phrases but keep them coming!
oh i find them all on pinterest. Its quite the obession now. I need to stop!
I have a CONFIDENT pallet too! I LOVE topping every meal with fresh foods:) Apples in EVERY form are incredible. The first quote gave me goosebumps, I will never forget that one!
yes, I love your fun confident pallet! Such good taste and it shows in your life too! Full of flavor and PASSION!
I’m the type of woman who is strong, confident, beautiful, determined, and sometimes more emotional then I need to be. HA!
i think that comes with the territory. Damn hormones.. haha.
You do have a unique palate, but that’s great! It’s no fun to be like everyone else anyway. 😉 I am definitely a condiment girl – I like lots of them on most every thing I eat. 😉
so I am not alone. I think I have at least 2 condiments with each meal. haha.
LOVE THIS!!
I’m the type of woman who loves a good challenge and opening every hidden door within her to help other women 🙂
Ok, I kinda like this goat cheese combo you have rolling here…Might just have to try it 🙂
xxoo
oh that i Know. You are also the type of woman who takes risks and never looks back. Good thing too!
Holy amazing food, I may have to try that corn tortilla snack, it looks amazing!!!
try it and report back. Its like a grown up childhood snack. haha.
Will do! I’ll have it tomorrow afternoon 🙂
Mmmm…I’m so with you on the butter, it really does make carbs taste divine. No denying it, lol! 😛 I love your palate, I think owning your food choices, and loving what you eat and drink – as you do – is wonderful! 🙂 And I’m so down with your tortilla – you say odd, I think CREATIVE! <3 xyx
well said Yolie. And you are what you eat, right? which means I am odd yet creative? hehe.
I’m the type of woman who watched your video and smiled at how stinking adorable you are.
And the freudian slip…glitter. Love it.
Not glitter, grease! Heehee. You sweat glitter.
haha, glitter and grease. Both sticky and shiney, right? I tend to make those freudian slips a lot these days. WHOOPS!
Love this post. In about three months I can return to being the woman that has a glass of wine while cooking again!
But for right now, I’m the kind of woman who looks at every challenge as an opportunity to learn and grow.
SUSAN!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh how I have been thinking about you! How is your sweet little pregnant booty?! That glass of wine will return soon, very soon!
Thank you for sharing that quote… I have never heard it before, but it’s a new favorite 🙂
I’m the kind of woman who joins the other bunch of guys in the weight room without getting scared off… and with no other females in sight!
oh hawt dawg! yes, thats right. SHow them you have strength and nothing intimidates you! i used to do that in college and guys asked me to spot them. haha, what a pick up line!
I don’t think that in ten years my taste buds will change enough to try that duck product. I’m not even sure what foie gras is, but foie is liver and gras is fat? duck fat liver??? please tell me that is not the right translation and my french is rusty. I thought I was ambitious last week trying nutritional yeast…
your french is correct. Duck fat and its SO SO GOOD! but only certain kinds. My parents brought this back from france so its definitely the good kind. Hey I am glad you have branched out to Nutritional Yeast! woo!
I LOVE that quote! You know I like to shake things up! I love how you roll with your eats. Sometimes we just need a bowl of comfort in the form or buttered rice. Tony and I used to eat rice and gravy like crazy and I’m sure it was due to the comfort quality it had!
it is comfort, plus its all we had. I like to make things taste “home-ie” when are moving so this hit the spot. Stil have to make those GF biscuits! I can’t wait!!!
Ohhh I love you..and I love that quote in the beginning! I am again convinced you would make a splendid partner in crime. Oh and your video was aweesomeee.
i am pretty good at following orders. haha. Glad you liked my GOOBER video.
Oh no your not a froyo fan, ha no big deal! Personally, I’m obsessed but we all have our favorites and different taste preferences.
LOVE that quote, so bold and confident. I’m the kind of woman who tries her best to personally show up the “bulky tough guys” in the gym 😉
Lastly, great eats and mmm kombucha ♥ another obsession
I love that sarah! you can so show up those guys! I love the faces they would make too! haha.
Love the “confident pallet.” I’ll have to use that next time someone tells me I eat weird stuff, which could be any day now.
I’m also happy to read I’m not the only one who isn’t so crazy about froyo. I had it a couple times on hot days this summer, but it just doesn’t hold a candle to ice cream.
Woo hoo, lets join forces Tiff. Ice cream and gelato are my preferences.
I am the type of women who Loves fro-yo and cannot believe my friend Lindsey does not. The only good reason for this is that you haven’t enjoyed it in Utah with me. 🙂 I’m pretty sure the obsession is all about the conversation and rarely about the fro-yo.
I am also the type of women that thrives on structure and eating the same thing for lunch every single day. Weird I know but I love it.
I think you are right! i need the right atmosphere and company! fly me out for some utah froyo and rachelle time. <3
That is such an awesome quote! I am a lot of things, but in the morning I am the type of woman who looks forward to her breakfast and savoring her coffee :). Um, wow, can you tell that I’m tired and am thinking of caffeine?? haha
thats the only reason I get up early girl! coffee and breakfast waiting!! haha.
I love your odd pallet! I think it’s awesome because it gives me new ideas…I don’t venture out too crazily and should do that more. Hmm, I’m the type of woman who is determined to do whatever I set my mind to.
well as long as its helping you, then i don’t feel so odd. haha! You are a determined woman and don’t forget about that strength! I think its a triplet thing.
I’m the type of woman who goes with her gut. Whether that be with what I eat for breakfast or how I chose to live my life.
ahh, the gut knows best. I should go with the gut more in my life. Thanks for that reminder Lindz.
I’m the type of woman…who finishes what she starts. 🙂
PS. I’ve been OBSESSED with apples this fall too!!!!
amen to that! you are one hard working woman!! I love it Jess. So inspiring to me.
I saw that quote on pinterest too…so funny! I’m the type of woman who is a creature of habit…true! W/ just about everything. Some good some bad; need to work on changes. Blah! Happy Wednesday Linds!
<3
i think i need to be a creature of habit in some areas, like you said. Some good, some bad. Lets balance each other out, k?
I love that quote, I used it as my Monday Motivations post this week (still up actually) It is so true….I am the kind of woman who is bull-headed and when she has a task at hand, she goes all out….no halfsies here 🙂
great minds things alike! haha. I love that you are a go doer and goes ALL OUT danielle. STRONG!
I’m the kinda woman who is getting simultaneously wiser and more clueless as she ages. And drinks a kombucha a day. 🙂
Love, love your list! You’re my kinda woman.
haha, i love this Michelle. And you know your my kinda woman! and I do think you are aging well, with lots of wisdom and BEAUTY!
I’m the type of woman who feels as though she’s living a lukewarm life most of the time…and that needs to change. Lord, burn out the chaff!
i feel ya linds. Luke warm is a hard place. Praying for the fire to ignite and lots of boldness….which I think you already have!
I’m a type of man that loves peanut butter 🙂
and kombucha!!
LOVE how crazy your snack is… definitely something I’d be into trying. I think I have an odd palate at times too, but its fun to embrace it.
Mmmm butter, my WIAW was pretty much centered around butter haha.
i love your pallet Katie, its similar to mine I think. Going to check out that butter love now!
I love that quote. I have seen it before and need a coffee mug – or perhaps wine glass with that saying 😉 And there is just something so relaxing about sipping a glass of wine while cooking dinner.
oh ya, we need that on a wine glass. I love that idea! Or maybe a running visor. haha.
I LOVE that little quote that you first posted on this post! haha My roommate my junior year of college wrote that on our mirror and I saw it for like 2 months!!
Totally want to be more adventurous when it comes to cooking but lately my stomach has HATED me so yeah. Basically I feel like I want to rip it off my body. Everything hates me at the moment 🙁
oh no, I am so sorry Allie. Give it time, you will find your baking groove!
Ahh girl that quote is one of my all time favorites 😀
I’m totally diggin this WIAW, especially the crisp looking apple and that random goat cheese concoction! Aren’t freaky food combos THE BEST?!?
Hope you have an awesome day buddy!
yes, they are the best. Never a dull moment either!
Im the type of woman who has a huge heart and wakes up every day with a smile no matter what!
Loving that goat cheese combo on that wrap!
Happy Wednesday!
xoxo
i have never seen a picture of you not smiling. Love that!
