Description

Learn how to make a homemade jerk seasoning recipe with simple ingredients to add sweet and spicy flavor to all your meals!


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 Tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 Tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 Tablespoon dried parsley
  • 1/2 Tablespoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 to 3 teaspoons coconut palm sugar, to taste
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika or sweet paprika
  • 1 1/2 to 2 teaspoons kosher salt, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper ground
  • 1 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 to 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes, to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon ground
  • Optional: 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • Optional: 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger or ground cloves

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients to a small bowl and mix until combined.
  2. Store in a spice jar or airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 year.

Notes

If you’re using this seasoning while following the whole 30 program, omit the sugar and add a pinch more cinnamon.
