When I looked up THRIVING in the dictionary, I got this answer.
: to progress toward or realize a goal despite or because of circumstances —
This made me think. We are all thriving, just towards different goals. What we need to learn to do is to appreciate and respect each other’s “thriving”.
Some of us are thriving on being VEGAN and practicing YOGA daily.
Some of us are thriving on being a stay at home mom, raising a family, setting a good HEALTHY example.
Some of us are thriving on growing stronger, taking up CROSSFIT, and embracing a PALEO diet.
Some of us are thriving on running, finding confidence in their runs, and training for BIG races.
Some of us are thriving on starting a business, going back to school, or maybe even getting married.
We thrive on the journey we are on, the foods that make us feel good, the people in our life.
Never stop..
You are what you THRIVE.
Today I am Thriving on…
Food for fuel, for nourishment, for healing..
and maybe a few NEW ZEALAND must haves.
Today I am Thriving on…
Having my parents live in Austin. Sunset dinners and good conversation.
Today I am Thriving on…
Grace, because you can never have enough.
Today I am Thriving on…
Progress, because slow and steady wins the rest.
Today I am Thriving …. that is all.
What are you thriving on today?
Cheers,
LC
p.s.
Next month Amanda is heading up a great challenge. Something you might THRIVE on. A Clean Eating Challenge. Go here and check it out yourself!
p.p.s
We have an IZZE’s winner! Random Generator picked Cinnamon of Eat Pray Tri. Cinnamon, email me your address.
love it! thrive > survive!!! today i am thriving on deep breaths, a beautiful view, and the aroma of baked goods in the oven to surprise j after work! 🙂
oh you are the best to J! I bet he is thriving on YOU!
I want that on a t-shirt! Great message.
Every day is progress and you’re getting to where you need to go. Slowing down right now has been THE hardest thing for me. But it’s all about listening to your body.
I’m thriving on being surrounded by amazing friends and family this week – and beautiful weather.
I’ll make the t-shirt and we can put on a race. How cool would that be? Love your thriving!
At the risk of sounding really cheesy….I thrive on Keith’s love. Seriously, that man is my whole world. I could never have made it through the last 12 months without him at the helm of it all. He makes me a better person and he makes me see that I am enough.
never cheesy, because it’s real! I love that about you two!
Love this! There are so many ways to thrive and we all do it differently!
amen to that! i feel as if we our thriving changes as we grown into ourselves, yes?
Grace IS a way to live life. To THRIVE on life, one might say. 🙂
well said sweet friend, Grace is the THRIVE of LIFE!
I am thriving on my kids and getting to spend so much time with them during summer break.:)
that’s beautiful! i hope to be a thriving MOM like you some day!
Fabulous and positive as always Lindsay! I’m thriving having my family in town too–such a blessing! So many fabulous responses here.
oh fun! hug them all. You have such a supportive and loving family.
yes yes yes! thriving on listening to my body and enjoying the process!
yes, and i love seeing that, renewal!
Such a lovely post and message. I’m thriving to be true to me 🙂
thats one of the most important things you can THRIVE on! Go for it!
Way to thrive, Lindsay! I’m thriving on the fact that it’s almost the weekend, and I have a few more kick-butt clients to train to get there. Also thriving that I get to spin tomorrow 🙂
oh fun! spin it up and have fun this weekend. wink wink
Today, I am thriving on staying focused and organized! I have felt laziness creeping into places it shouldn’t be. **cough**motivationforschool**couch** I need to get my personal life in line so I can stop making excuses and get focused.
PS super beautiful Austin picture.. 🙂 once I have my life (and finances) in line, I will surely plan a trip!!
that’s awesome. progress will come from that. I think an Austin trip might help too!
You are always so positive. I love reading your blog because it makes my day better.
I’m thriving on lovely weather (I swear I’m the only person who loves 100+° in Iowa), being active, and being creative.
then you’d be chipper right here in austin. I think you should move. <3
Heck yes to thriving in life!!! I love this post, but I love all your posts 🙂
I’m thriving in the moment and working on being present and not putting too much focus on the future.
I’m also thriving in accepting the rest and nutrition I am giving to my body at this time.
acceptance takes a lot of thrive and focus. But what a beautiful thing you are doing. Inspiring others too!
Today I’m thriving on getting into the Word daily, spending quality time with my hubby, and the gorgeous weather in my new home state – a pretty fun time!
that’s some wonderful thriving, i’d say it’s fruitful too. I am so happy for you.
I thrive on words like YOURS. Seriously, you come out with posts with such simplicity but they speak to me so closely. I feel like we are having a conversation. And I hope, one day, we will be, in person! I love what you are thriving on. Consistency, living, fueling and healing. That’s what it’s all about. I am thriving on LIFE. All of it. The ups and the downs. But more importantly, the in-between the ups and downs, the day to day. Embracing it and trying my best not to ‘cant wait’ the week away!
ha, i always think that it’s just mumbo jumbo, so thank you for that! and you are thriving on LIFE, i see in your words, your actions (niece time), and so much more.
Currently thriving on taking a week off from the gym! I SO wish I had more time right now. I’d be in Austin in a heartbeat to try that kombucha and Maudie’s…I need to remember that!
oh i wish you could come down to Austin too!! Any chance that’s gonna happen soon?
Great points in this post – we all do indeed thrive on very different things and it’s important not to let our own experiences influence the way we view others’ lifestyles. I’m not always so good at that. I know what works ‘best’ for me, but implementing that in order to truly Thrive…now that is the true challenge.
I’m glad you’re on the road to thriving yourself 🙂
xxx
P.S Woohoo, it’s finally letting me comment again (I think lol)…
it is a challenge, but one worth fighting for, yes? Jess, i love hearing from you. Makes my day!
I wish I could thrive on being the beautiful girl God sees in me. I want to thrive in God’s grace and be healthy. I thrive in knowing that I am the only one who can change me.
you can, but you must believe in yourself. God does!
Great post, which also reminds me of something in a book I’ve been reading, about celebrating small achievements and seeing them as the successes they are 🙂
oh what book? I think it’s great to focus on that. Keep daily life a blessing, ya know?
Definitely! This one’s called Perfect Confidence, by Kelly Marks, and it’s about regaining lost confidence with horses and riding as that’s where I am at the moment. It talks such sense and the blessing aspect’s definitely part of it 🙂
Oh my gosh I LOVE this post. You are so wise! We all thrive on DIFFERENT things because we are all unique individuals with various needs and strengths! No one should see their fitness regime or diet as The Best because it certainly isnt for everyone! I know CrossFitters can do that… And Yogis.. And runners.. everyone can stand to remember that we all gotta do what floats our own boat 🙂 excluding… you know…eating 500 twinkies.
yes yes and yes! we all have different boats, it’s what’s inside that makes it float, right? wow, corny much? haha
I am thriving on sun, lake swims, amazing clients, yoga and taking an olympic lifting coaching course!
I have been thinking about thriving a lot too lately. You are right, so many ways to go about it….pick one that works for you an thrive on:)
amen to that! which one are you focusing on heather?
Love this. Powerful and to the point. At the moment I’m thriving on lots of sleep, re-connecting with friends, and definitely Kombucha. I’ve never seen the Salty Dog kind before though, it looks fun!
one can never have too much sleep or kombucha! salt dog is a local company. You need to try it!!
hey! vegemite is from australia not new zealand 😛
oh i know i know. But i stocked up on it in NZ so i kinda correlate it with that. I am bias. hehe.
I so love you right now with these posts!! I needed this right now. Awesome sauce! Let’s see I’m thriving on eating cleaner, being as active as possible whether it be running/walking, Zumba or strength training & also just fun active stuff :-), and having good people around me like family and friends. You can’t thrive without that now can you??!! I also love the thing about Grace makes me think of the Bible passage 2 Corinthians 12:9… Perfect for this stuff here :-). Good stuff girl :-D. Thx for this!
yes m’am! keep on thriving in those areas. they will bring so much FRUIT into your life.
Oh my gosh, that saying about GRACE! YES! I love that one! I am so glad you ‘re happy and things are good in your world right now! That really does make me happy. I’m thriving on slow and steady myself. I catch myself getting so worked up over little things and wishing for things to be something they aren’t. I need to live in the moment and take in every minute. They are all important and they all build us to be better people. Love this post!
things are getting there, and that’s all we got. right? No need to get worked up on what we can’t control. Easier said than done, yes? Moment to moment. <3
Love this!! I’m thriving on trusting my circumstances to God, and fueling my body correctly so it can heal!
beautiful! fueling and healing.. they go hand in hand. How are you feeling? Are you adding in more protein these days?
feeling some better. Trying.. do you recommend a certain protein powder?
Goodness your posts ALWAYS bring a huge smile to my face 🙂 That sunset dinner looks mighty tasty and yay for vegemite!
Today, I’m thriving on the fact that it’s almost the weekend WOOOO!
amen to that! i cannot wait for the weekend. A time of renewal. Thrive on it girl!
I don’t feel like I’m thriving much today – but I want to be – so I am thriving on my job, my family and my friends!
you are thriving. Thriving on letting go and moving on to better things!
girl. you freak me out sometimes how parallel we think. I literally walked in the door from doing groceries post-run and have 2 trial size packs of the Vega sport protein in choc and vanilla, and one of each of the sport and recovery bars!! I figured since I’m addicted to the smoothies I might as well THRIVE some more on them!
LOL!!! Me too! I’ve had 2 smoothies already today. At least they are nutrient dense. THRIVE!
Girl I always look forward to your posts. You are always so positive and full of inspiration even in tougher times. Always a wonderful reminder that if you look, life really is good.
well, i try. I think we get too drained focusing on the negative, right? Love YOU!
I love it! I am thriving on nourishment, listening to my body, and trusting that everything is going to work out as we have some exciting (yet scary!) changes coming our way in the next several months.
i can’t wait to hear all about them Ash. Will be praying for these changes!
Awwwwww! Yay for parents <3
I love the things you listed! Today I just thrive on hope, hope for things to get better in a situation going on <3
Love you!
can i do anything for you? Praying for your situation. You know you can always email me.
WHAT?!??! I WON?!?! Oh man I am so excited!!
Today I am THRIVING on making a successful transition from corporate worker to stay at home wife/stepmom.
The gym we go to is called Thrive. Love it.
and you make a great stay at home wife/stepmom. Email me your address! yea for winning.
Your posts are the best – so simple, to the point and oh-so-powerful. I LOVE the concept of thriving. Thriving and blooming right where you’re planted…that’s exactly what I’m doing right now. And LOVING it.
ha, i always think that i am slowly losing this blog. Well, you know what i mean. But then i just start writing for me. I thought of you when I said thriving on confidence in running. <3
Today I’m thriving on only eating plants and rehabbing my MCL so I can get back to running sooner than later.
that MCL will be good as new in no time! keep thriving!
I hope so
I know so. Hopeful!
Thanks for the positiveness.
I WISH I were thriving on Salty Dog kombucha and Vegemite! 🙂
I AM thriving on clean foods, heavy weights, and a supportive community.
yes yes and yes! all things I love.
