We’re all moved, well kinda. Half in storage and half with where we are temporarily staying. Including our food! Only our staple (aka long shelf life) foods made it with us so needless to say, our meals have been a little colorless but we’ve been sticking with them like white on rice (all kinds of rice to be exact).
Thanks to Jen and WIAW, my Rice consumption has been met!
Vanilla Banana Smoothie-(half whey/half brown RICE protein)
Organic Liquid Gold (aka vitamins!). Natural Vitality has some great vitamins that we’ve been trying out.
I am a big fan of liquid vitamins. Better absorption rate (in my opinion).
Perfect Foods bar (made with peanut butter and brown RICE puffs)
Tuna and egg on STICKY RICE
Okay, this has color. Thank goodness! And thank you Swanson Vitamins for letting me get my FRS fix with the Blogger product Review program!
The hubs and I love FRS. It kept us going during the move, literally.
Brown RICE cake with tomato sauce/ tempeh, and yes……
more Sticky RICE on top!
Brown RICE crackers with NUTTZO, banana, honey, and salted peanuts.
No rice here but my beans like their kerrygold butter like white on rice.
Does that count?
And lastly my friends, I am stickin’ to this lady’s workouts like white on rice. I just can’t get enough of her Tuesday Trainer!
Go check it out. I even got the hubs share an exercise.
—————————————————————————————————————————————————-
What have you been sticking to like white on rice lately?
Cheers,
LC
p.s.
I have finished the 10 day optimism challenge. It’s been a HUGE blessing in disguise. You can see the last day wrap up here.
Mmmmmmm, I want sticky rice now. 🙂 I eat the brown kind, though, and I think I’ll try again soon since my tummy has gotten better with legumes, so rice may go as well. 🙂
Are those adzuki beans? 😀 I love those, it’s my favorite kind. 🙂
yes, adzuki beans and fish! my favorite combo!
Tuna and eggs on sticky rice. That sounds actually like the perfect combination. I love rice and so happy that you can eat it on a GF diet otherwise I might be super sad.
it really is the best combo. And you are right, without rice, I would be a starved GF foodie. haha.
Eating during/after a move is so hard! I was getting so grossed out by Subway during our move. I hope you love your new place!
I love rice in ALL it’s forms! I’d gladly eat it two (or more) meals daily, but I felt like diversity should mean more that a different stir-fry sauce…! Glad that you are mostly moved!
I’m hooked on rice cakes. With hummus, yogurt, jam, cheese, nut butter, …adding coconut oil makes them taste amazing.
How do you make your smoothie? And is that fish with your dinner?
oh i will add coconut oil next! i love that idea sara. and yes, that is fish with dinner! fish and beans and rice, like the islands. haha.
It’s funny how perfectly timed this post is! I’ve been loving rice (in all forms) like white on rice too. This past week I’ve gone dairy free, and have replaced whey protein with rice protein and cheese with vegan rice cheese (definitely an adjustment, but delicious in its own way! ha). And of course I’m always downing rice cakes topped with peanut butter, however my new favorite is topped with hummus, guacamole and roasted chicken. AND, to top it off, I ate rice pudding two days ago for the first time in YEARS. So delicious!
you should try almond cheese! girl, you will be in heaven. For real! Since we have similar tastes, i know you will. I’m off to grab some guacamole and roasted chicken! yum.
Like brown on rice? 🙂 I’ve been eager to try rice protein. Do you like it? My next purchase will be that or hemp. I don’t know if I’m hippie enough for hemp???
okay, the best kind you can get is called life basics. Its AWESOME! half pea/rice/and hemp. The only kind that is not scary tasting. get the vanilla!

Hahaha, your food actually looks really good!! I LOVE rice!!!
Mmmm those perfect food bars are AMAZING!! I love them! How was the move?? Are you there all cozy??
xxoo
we are staying with friends and family till we head off to New Zealand in November. Cozy? Kinda, more like nomadic. haha.
I’ve been sticking to my apple, cinnamon, and almond butter snack. I cannot get enough of apples and obviously cannot eat them without any sort of nut butter…obviously. HA! I haven’t had sticky rice in a long time!
try this —- sticky rice with currants and almond butter/cinnamon. No lie, its AWESOME!
Lots of great food! ….As usual!
I’m also a big fan of liquid vitamins…even though some of them make me gag a little bit 🙂
Lately, I’ve been completely obsessed with tuna, organic rotisserie lemon pepper chicken….and pb/protein balls!
I love food 🙂
Good luck with the rest of the moving process!
oh thats a good one. Lemon and tuna and black peper. and maybe a little olive oil ? i love your new food addictions lisa. Especially wine! How is it all going with the fitness?
Great eats, as usual!! Hope all of the moving is going well and i’m sorry no one wanted to help the hubs move the tv.. I would have helped 🙂
oh i bet you would have. I was at work, i felt so bad for him.
OOO sticky rice and anything with sushi how I love thee 🙂 Glad the move went well!! 🙂 🙂
sushi heaven!! i am a huge fan. Wish we could have sushi together. <3
ooo gosh lady me tooo! i wish you could come and visit
ohhh I LOVE sticky rice and haven’t had it in soo long! mm mmm!
Lately I’ve been sticking to my pup like white on rice because I’ll miss him when I’m back in the work force!
oh i would miss my pups too! to bad you can’t take him to work, or maybe you can? hehe.
Oh yum those rice cakes look great!! Glad you are getting more moved in 🙂
yes, finally! forgot how moving sucks the life out of you! how is school? staying stress free? Hope so friend.
School is good, thanks!! And yes, I’m trying to stay stress free 🙂
I love rice! Crispy rice is one of my favorite textures in bars, cereal, etc. The brown rice crackers with banana, honey, salted peanuts, etc sound so delicious. I’ve been sticking to Love Grown Foods granola like white on rice after being showered with love last weekend. 🙂
i am all out of Love grown otherwise I’d be on it like white one rice too! hehe. I love how we share similar tastes, as always friend.
I’m no rice fan but whoa your lunch looks gorgeous! haha love the sticky analogy. I’m sticking to apples like sticky rice atm, they are sooo cheap and autumny
i know! i finally got to the store today and bought a 3lb bag! woo!
so glad you are getting settled in. it reminds me of the time Bill and I had most of our stuff in storage and we lived at a freinds house. it was so hard……but your food looks fab. i have been on a brown rice kick lately!
it is hard, but it makes you live kinda simple, which is nice.
Tuna plus egg on rice = heaven. That was ketchup on there right?!?! That’s what I would have topped it with:) Good to know about liquid vitamins being easier to absorb….I always learn so much from you!
you better believe there was ketchup on it, a must have! Love you friend. Thanks for the email
We are a rice lovin’ family here too! I need to do fried egg on rice. I bet that pretty tasty! I love fried rice, but never think to just do egg over rice. YUM! I’m glad you’re done with this leg of the move. I know you have more, but you are getting there!
that is my favorite, fried egg on rice. Yes, one leg down, one to go. We should just come stay with you. haha.
Hey at least you were saving money by not eating out! Rice overload or not, it’s the budget-friendly eating plan. 😉
this is true. We’re definitley budgeting so creative juices have to get crackin. Hows DC treatin ya?
Well today, I’ve almost eaten two pieces of Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookie Pie…and it’s only 1:18. It’s sticking to me..and my thighs. 😉
mmmm, if i were you neighbor, i might have stalked your front door……..and drooled a little too.
Lindsay you are too clever with this post, loved it 🙂 You are so creative with your cooking too, everything looks rather tasty
haha, desperate times call for desperate measures.
I always wanted to try those bars, I keep looking at them in stores.
Hilariously I’ve been sticking to wild rice like white rice lately. I love how crunchy it is.
oh my goodness, you must sara! Perfect foods bars are the best. Try ’em and let me know your thoughts.
All of the food looks scrumptious. You are very creative with your cooking and I love that. I am sticking to my family like white rice. No matter how hard life gets they are always there for me. Oh and I’m also not giving up popsicles just because Summer is over. 🙂
i love that Rachelle! family is so important during these times…..oh and popsciles!
I have been completely obsessed with noocho cheese lately. made a fresh batch last night for Taco Tuesday (another obsession…). 🙂
Jason and I used to LOVE FRS. I liked the chews – pomegranate, yum!
Kris, I swear we have the same tastebuds and share a similar obesession with health products. Love the chews! Pineapple is my favorite. Did you try the calm? thoughts?
I agree, we do!! both taste similarity AND product junkies. 😉
oh, girl, you must have KNOWN the calm would be needed – it has been a lifesaver this week! my dad is doing awesome, but someone else has been testing my patience. in a big way.
I love the berry-lemon, and REALLY love the plain lemon – reminds me of the mag supplement I have. XO
Mmm…that grub looks delicious and I’ll have to check out those multis! Glad to see you’re doing well, friend! I haven’t forgotten about you- new blog in tha works! 😉
i’m so glad to hear from you!! made my day! how is life in D?
Rice is good!hahaha Brazilians eat it every day w/ beans! 😛
I’ve been trying to stick to my strength training these past few weeks! Mostly successfully, too!
oh yea, i remember thos brazilian meals of rice and beans. SO GOOD! eat lots for me, k?
I love sticky rice but have never tried to make it myself! I brought back over 20 lbs of apples from my parents house. I have a feeling I will be on apple overload.
its super easy linds and so good with everything. Even peanut sauce (aka melted peanutbutter) and banana.
your eats look so delicious! i love that you eat so much rice, it’s so good for you. i agree too i love drinking my nutrients too, they definitely get absorbed quicker! hope you have great wednesday!
yes m’am, rice should be a staple for us all. Okay, maybe I’m just bias. So good! Happy Wednesday Amy!
I’m a BIG FRS fan.. it’s so elusive in VA Beach, though!
oh you are my kind of woman! FRS, wine, PUMPKIN!!!!!!!
That’s a pretty great WIAW for having rice (in some form) with every meal! I’m actually really surprised how great everything looks! Not because you made it, because of the lack of variety (although you found quite a bit!)
🙂
Hope you’re getting all settled into your new/temp place. 🙂
hey I was just as suprised. I think the ketchup made it look fancier. hehe. Thanks for the kind words, getting settled feels so good!
I made a fake sweet and sour chicken dish over brown rice over the weekend – one of my favorite dishes.
I then saved some of the rice and had it for breakfast with a little skim milk, soy nut butter and banana. Delish!
Rice is so versatile!
fake? how do you do that? recipe on your blog? Hope so!
i need to get my face into some kerrygold buttaz and nuttzo! but i feel like nutzo is so expensive! wahhh 🙁
um, yes, GET NUTTZO! I have a 25% off code if you order some. ITS FREAKIN AWESOME. like better than peanut flour awesome. haha.
YUM! These all look so damn good. how do you come up with these ideas and will to try new things? I feel like I am in such a rut and make the same stuff I always make for meals because I know them by heart. And I ALWAYS forget stuff at the store. But my latest thing I’ve been sticking to? Spagetti squash! YUM!
i have to admit, i hate eating the same thing. I get bored. And I just like cooking and creating! hehe, i know I am weird like that.
Isn’t Kerrygold butter the bomb?
yes, my two obsessions start with a K, kerrygold and kombucha!
So happy you guys are all settled, well kind of!
LOVE the rice cake yums you created, look really good!
Pumpkin has been sticking to me lately, been everywhere in my little world over here ; )
Have a great day! xoxo
and I am loving all your pumpkin! We need to get MOJO bars to have a pumpkin flavor. Pumpkin butterscotch!
Yummy!!!! All looks super yummy!!
So glad to hear that you and the hubs (almost typed bubs haha) are done packing and ready to go to NZ!!! Will continue to pray for this new transition that will crept up before you know it!!!
I LOVE fried rice at Chinese places(its prolly really awful for you, but you only live once right?!)
I have been sticking to working out, trying to eat as clean as possible(went to a funeral yesterday and I ate so many sweets I possibly could have make a food scarf with how much I consumed aka I eat bad when I am sad) and walking with the Lord. Its hard to trust him but its part of life when you walk with the Lord!! Happy Wednesday 🙂
way to go with the workouts friend! keep them up! And thank you so much for your prayers, they mean so much.
Mmmmm delicious food 🙂 My favorite kind of rice is medium grain brown rice. It’s so sticky and nutty, I love it with butter and a touch of salt. And rice cakes are awesome- I don’t see them as some low calorie diet food, I see them as a vehicle for tons of almond butter, hummus, or other delicious condiment 🙂 Have a great day!
oh you know it, rice cakes are just a landing tool for all the good stuff. Guacamole is another good one!
What delicious foods! I have been on a rice kick lately too–lots of jasmine rice in meals and I’ve been loving it!
jasmine rice is so light and fluffy and of course, good for those running legs Vanessa!
That rice cake with the banana – yum yum yum. I’ve been seeing the Tuesday Trainer links via twitter. Need to check it out.
you like it! great tips too! you should add your exercises to her links. I would love to use them and get those WHERE’s the beach muscles! woo!
Yum! I love all the rice action in this post, everything looks amazing!
I’ve never had rice protein powder before, but I’ve heard it’s pretty cool, may have to check that out soon fo sho!
I’ve been sticking to grilled zucchini and honeycrisp apples like white on rice, I swear I’ve eaten my weight x2 of both this past week haha 😉
there are only certain brands of rice protein i use and i like to mix it. Best of both worlds, ya know?
Yum.
Lately I’ve been sticking to spinach like white on rice. I seem to find a way to incorporate into many meals- in soup, as a sauteed side dish, salad, on sandwiches…
Now I’m craving rice though. Glad I’ll be having sushi for dinner!
oh ya, that sounds good. Spinach on rice with egg! you might get me hooked now.
Yummy eats! I love sticky rice 🙂
