What Are You Missing (out on) Because of Fear? Because of FEAR we can sometimes miss out on … well.. US! Our true self. Our God given gifts. Our life’s purpose. Let’s fear less and live more!
We often hear this phase a lot…. FOMO. The fear of missing out. Fear of being left out, missing out on the next best thing, fear of not being in the know, fear of social media lagness… Yes, lagness. It’s a thing. But what so many of us don’t realize is that FEAR holds us back. Not from missing out on “all the things” per se, but missing out on what God has planned for your life. What HE created you to be.
Because of FEAR we can sometimes miss out on … well.. US! Our true self. Our God given gifts. Our life’s purpose.
Fear Less, Do More. Or rather, BE MORE!
Here, let me back it up and explain myself. Cause there’s some explaining to do, as always.
You see, I married man with big dreams. Together we (as a Team) pursued a 10 year professional triathlon career. It was during these VERY HARD and FEARFUL times that I learned a little about fear. That it can stop you in your tracks (of life) and not let you go anywhere. That is until you decide to completely let go.
For us, we just knew we had to let go. By letting go we had to accept the course. A course of NO MATTER what happens, this is God’s plan.
That life plan or rather, journey, is always purposeful.
Although You might FAIL (at times). And You will be disappointed. And You might have HARD rough terrain on this journey. One thing comes out of it — > GOODNESS GRACIOUS all that moves you forward and grows you!
Friends, if we had not taken that risk. That longer journey and letting go of fear, then we would not be where we are today. Heck, it was because of letting go of fear and pursuing this dream together that Healthy bites came into action, and so did starting this blog. … way back in 2009! I’m blog old. Judge me. 😉
Regardless of my “blog age” or my real age. I am became…..
Stronger.
More determined.
Passionate for Sharing life with each other versus all alone.
Thankful for new passions, but still appreciating the passions we once had.
Yes —-> THANKFUL! Thankful that now I (we) can give back to others because of the support we had all along. Because we did not let FEAR hold us back , instead we let it go.
Today I, Corny Cotter, want to encourage others that are on that rough road to stop in your tracks. Let go of Fear. And be ready to tackle a new adventure… one small victory at a time!
That being said, I am so honored and excited to be part of the Food Entrepreneur virtual summit.

Last question.
What are you missing out on because of Fear? How can I help or encourage you today?
Cheers!
Man if I’ve said it once I’ve said it a hundred times… fear dominates me a lot. Fear and control issues, which I am learning go hand in hand in my case. I am getting ever so slightly better at letting go of control… and TBD if it helps or not but based on your post… it will help! Sorry I’m late to the party on this post but I hope your summit is going awesome!
I’m am learning too. Fear and control —> DEATH OF ME> haha. And thanks for the encouragement. Yes, summit is going well. Really love the support and realness. Hope you are well Chris!
I DEFINITELY have my moments of FOMO, and I get so angry at myself for skipping out on opportunities where I can try new things and meet new people because I get way too anxious! I try to just tell myself that even if I don’t like it, I tried and I went in with my all.
i know! i think we all feel that way. Hugs friend!
Congrats! What a great topic!
thanks friend!
Sounds so exciting Lindsay!!!! I know you will rock along with the others!!!!
Fear really does stop us in our tracks!
I so agree!

Almost nothing. That’s what I’m missing out on. Now.
I”m so tempted to join the Summit! I’m sure it’s going to be amazing.
You should have been a speaker!
i hope you join us Jill!
I love this! We should never let fear hold us back from doing ANYTHING in life!
?❤️❤️ I know you know this
I love you and this message.
this post. just so much love here. I’m so humbled by your support of everything. It means so much to me! xoxoxo
Wow. I’ve been toying with “going” to the summit for since Nicole announced it, and I think you just fully convinced me. I have fear surrounding the future and ALL the uncertainty. I have a little more than a year of college left, but after that, everything is up in the air and that terrifies me to the point of paralysis. I want to get over that!
I’m so glad!! Keep me posted. I think you’ll love.
do it Ellen! 🙂 let me know if you have questions!
I registered for the Food Entrepreneur virtual summit last week and cannot wait to hear my favorite Corny Cotter’s advice because I so <3 your advice – like this tidbit about fear. TBH, I don't often conquer fear – I come up with a slew of reasons why not and then try to justify them/it – in other words I let fear win – with justification – and that's way bad – but, am a work in progress and am working on conquering my fear – s-l-o-w-l-y!
Oh friend, you amaze me daily! You are fearless and you should be proud! keep moving forward!
I’m most definitely not a food blogger, but I am SO STINKING EXCITED for this!
Oh yay! i truly think it will help so many, food blogger or health/fitness/lifestyle bloggers!
OMG – you’re going to be so famous! Can I say I drank with…. errrrrr… KNEW you when?
I heart corny Cotter.
Lol no silly! But my balls are always famous, right? ??
I could so relate to this. A year ago, I could not imagine taking the leap to do something completely different that was truly my passion. I was held back by fear. Now I’m so glad I took the leap even though the future seems uncertain and I have no idea if I will be able to make a nutrition coaching business successful. But I imagine I’ll never know unless I try.
You are so awesome Lindsay! PS – I love that you called yourself “Corny Cotter”, I literally laughed out loud. AND I don’t think you’re corny at all! I LOVED your episode on the podcast and I’m SO excited to learn more! I already purchased my ticket for the summit. Your willingness to help other bloggers and the information and wisdom you share from your own experiences is so valuable! I love your positive vibe and your recipes and photography are always on a completely different level. YOU ROCK girl! Thanks for all that you do 🙂
Friend, I adore you and am so glad we can support each in this journey. You are amazing and so talented already! ?
Georgia O’Keeffe said ” I’ve been absolutely terrified every moment of my life – and I’ve never let it keep me from doing a single thing I wanted to do.” I am with her. Great photo of you and your husband. xo Lauren
I’m “going” to the summit and so excited to learn from some fabulous ladies! I’m battling the fear-thing now while searching for jobs (in “far away” places). I know I can do it but it’s the unknown that is intimidating.
Keep me posted on job!!! <3
I am so glad you did not let fear get the best of you and followed your dreams. You have inspired so many and will continue to do so! The summit sounds AMAZING, just during the busiest week, not sure I can manage it.
you can download the sessions and listen later! They don’t have to be that day. But I totally get it! Life is busy <3
hope you join us Kristen! they’ll be yours forever to listen and watch whenever you want 🙂
You are NOT Corny Cotter! 🙂
Congrats on your speaking role — it sounds perfect for you since you have so much wisdom and experience to share (and you’re NOT old)!
haha i’m like 80 in blog years.
What a lineup! Totally agree and relate to everything you say. I have to ask myself often how fear is holding me back and it what ways. It’s so easy to get lost in defenses! You are amazing and a HUGE inspiration for my own blog. So, I’m thankful you’re blog old lol 🙂 xoxo
You amaze me daily. Keep pushing forward. I love it!
Love you, lady. You and I are so similar, in so many ways. I am always here for you. Always.
likewise friend. <3
