Yes, I went there. Another holiday recipe post. More Fourth of July recipes for you to collect and go pin crazy. Actually, these two smoothie recipes you can make anytime, they just have an ALL AMERICAN theme because let’s face it, having a “themed” post is more fun. Plus it gives me a chance to use an obscene amount of stars of picmonkey.
Don’t worry, you’ll see more stars through out the post, hehe.
Alright, let get to the food. Let me ask you. When you think of ALL AMERICAN food, what’s the first thing the comes to mind? For me it was Apple Pie and Coca-Cola, but not together of course. Although I think Laura could some how pull that strange but good combo off. And since I already posted a blueberry recipe, I wanted to give the apple a chance to shine. I’d say this recipe taste like APPLE PIE with ice cream on top all blended into one delicious mason jar cup. Mason jars go with the theme, in case you didn’t catch that. 😉
- 1 Vanilla Corepower or 14 oz almond milk
- ¼ cup quick oats
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- ½ apple (chopped)
- handful of cashews or almonds
- ice
- Optional add to make extra creamy and more protein- ⅓ of avocado and 1 scoop vanilla protein powder.
- Blend until smooth.
The second ALL AMERICAN recipe is yet another redux and it has to be one of my favorites to make during the summer. Yes, COKE FLOAT smoothie! I know I have posted this before, but I just can’t help myself. It went with my theme, ya know? haha!
- 8oz of Zevia Cola
- 1 scoop Vanilla Protein
- ½ frozen banana
- 10-12oz Almond Milk or Coconut Milk
- ice
- Optional add ins: Plain yogurt or Greek yogurt
Tip: Blend everything but the cola first. The slowly add in the cola and blend or stir. Keeps it frothy!
Are you feeling patriotic yet?! Hope so! We are planning on enjoying a very mellow (and much needed 4th). then will be glued to the TOUR de France Starting July 5th. I think the Kiwi planned these next few weeks of “recovery” perfectly, hours and hours of cycling on TV!
What are you blending up this weekend?
Check out Laura’s and Kirstin’s recipe link ups for more recipe ideas!

Cheers,

I’ve never tried coke in a smoothie! I’ll have to give that one a go – yum yum!
Yum, I make a similar apple smoothie – seriously one of my faves! All last week I was having “granola cups” from a juice bar in Portland for breakfast as I waited for a fresh OJ with ginger for my poor sick bf! Spinach, kale, apple, banana and I would add hemp protein – topped with almond butter!
man that sounds amazing!
Yum Yum, we were blending up smoothies over here too!

Yum! Both of those recipes sound fantastic, and definitely appropriate for Independence Day! Pinning.

I’m going to make a paleo version of my old bacon and egg potato salad. Not really too different I guess! Except white sweet potatoes and some good homemade mayo!
