Thursday Thoughts: #IWill

by Lindsay Cotter · 05/09/2013

I let it happen. I over planned, and not on purpose. For someone who doesn’t really plan, it’s quite comical. You see, I said yes to things before realizing their deadlines and “needs” and now I am “planned” out.

BUT..

I AM HUMBLED.

humility

Realizing that yes, I may have over planned, I may have made one (or two, or three) business mistakes, I may have forgotten about dinner till after 8pm, I may have worked too hard, not rested enough, and neglected my REAL priorities.

hair

I am also realizing that I am HUMAN. Perfectly imperfect.

perfection

I learn the ropes, the trials of life, and the rocky terrain as I go.

Do I get fatigued? Yep. Do I give up? Sometimes I want to, but then life would be PURPOSE-less. Is that a word? So I learn. I rest. I grow. I gain.

I gain strength. Mental, Physical, and Spiritual STRENGTH.

Can you relate? Oh I know you can.

I took a challenge. In fact, I’ve signed up for the Under Armour’s What’s beautiful campaign.  I’m also joining other fitfluential ambassadors to help spread the word about this campaign.

UA_WB3_Post

You sign up. Create a FREE profile for yourself, join teams (if you’d like), and start your challenge. Teams will support each other’s goals, encourage, etc. Tweet/share your #IWILL challenge. Heck you might even WIN PRIZES.

goala

I am following lots of Teams. But my “main team” is Team Fabulously Fit. My goal? My challenge? Well, see below.

under armour

I am not looking to go crazy on workouts, running, racing, etc. I looking at tackling the TRAILS (and TRIALS) of life. Climbing each one with physical, spiritual, and mental strength. I also want to be a SHERPA to all the other ladies out there. Because, let’s face it, it’s what I do.

Maybe they need that extra support or a workout motivation.

Timed intervals

Yep, that’s it. I’m not OVER PLANNING a goal, I’m climbing it. One rock at a time. Human strength with God sized dreams.

FTC Disclosure:  This post is sponsored by Under Armour through Fitfluential.  All opinions expressed are my own!

Do you have an #IWILL?

Cheers,

LC

p.s. I have a PLANNED (eek, over planned) recipe post for tomorrow. This one I couldn’t pass up because it has to do with a NON PROFIT that is dear to my heart and a new NUTTZO CREAMY giveaway.

I want so badly to be able to workout again! This knee nonsense cannot be over soon enough! I need healthy motivation in my life and I feel I’ve found the right things to aspire to become and achieve. It’s all about balance and it DOES take trial and error to learn… I just wish I had opportunities to grow instead of constantly battling loss.

I LOVE the spirit behind your #IWILL team, it suits you and your heart perfectly, especially the sherpa part. AND I love that you are not overplanning this or overthinking it — coming from someone who constantly falls into these two ‘over’ traps, I know how hard it is NOT to do!! xoxo

I try and remember that perfection-ism is the opposite of humility…

humility, to me, is knowing that any greatness is not OF me but THROUGH me. Takes a lot of pressure off and reminds me to always be connected.

Overplanning – my biggest weakness!! We can help each other stay in check, friend! It’s hard to ask for help, but sometimes it is a must. Perhaps that is your next step…ask and you shall receive! if I were closer, I would help in an instant and if there is anything I can do, ever, say the word 🙂 I am loving all of these UnderArmour posts from everyone, absolutely beautiful! I love your goal and mantra for this!!

We are 100% on the same page, huh? Humility is a beautiful thing in recognizing we are human and make mistakes. I’m so ready for the REAL priorities to be back in focus. To feel like a family again. To have time to enjoy life again. I’ll be praying for you in this busy time too. I guess there’s a season for everything. Hopefully this season passes quickly for the both of us.

I swear I had every one of those thoughts today. And yesterday. And the day before. And the one before that….

I love these posts, Lindsey! You are always in my head and it should freak me out, but it doesn’t.

Also? I forgot about dinner tonight until 8:30, so I skipped it and went right to dessert. Pudding made with cauliflower…basically counts, right? There’s a veggie in it! 😉

I just love you. I am sooooo good at being a perfectionist and agree with the quote you posted; we punish ourselves for not being that perfect being that we think we have to be. Admittedly, I am already beating myself up for feeling I don’t measure up to a lot of the women who are much more for that I am or a lot healthier, etc. This definitely is a wake up call that I desperately need. Thanks for the but-kickin’ 😉
