I let it happen. I over planned, and not on purpose. For someone who doesn’t really plan, it’s quite comical. You see, I said yes to things before realizing their deadlines and “needs” and now I am “planned” out.
BUT..
I AM HUMBLED.
Realizing that yes, I may have over planned, I may have made one (or two, or three) business mistakes, I may have forgotten about dinner till after 8pm, I may have worked too hard, not rested enough, and neglected my REAL priorities.
I am also realizing that I am HUMAN. Perfectly imperfect.
I learn the ropes, the trials of life, and the rocky terrain as I go.
Do I get fatigued? Yep. Do I give up? Sometimes I want to, but then life would be PURPOSE-less. Is that a word? So I learn. I rest. I grow. I gain.
I gain strength. Mental, Physical, and Spiritual STRENGTH.
Can you relate? Oh I know you can.
I took a challenge. In fact, I’ve signed up for the Under Armour’s What’s beautiful campaign. I’m also joining other fitfluential ambassadors to help spread the word about this campaign.
You sign up. Create a FREE profile for yourself, join teams (if you’d like), and start your challenge. Teams will support each other’s goals, encourage, etc. Tweet/share your #IWILL challenge. Heck you might even WIN PRIZES.
I am following lots of Teams. But my “main team” is Team Fabulously Fit. My goal? My challenge? Well, see below.
I am not looking to go crazy on workouts, running, racing, etc. I looking at tackling the TRAILS (and TRIALS) of life. Climbing each one with physical, spiritual, and mental strength. I also want to be a SHERPA to all the other ladies out there. Because, let’s face it, it’s what I do.
Maybe they need that extra support or a workout motivation.
Yep, that’s it. I’m not OVER PLANNING a goal, I’m climbing it. One rock at a time. Human strength with God sized dreams.
FTC Disclosure: This post is sponsored by Under Armour through Fitfluential. All opinions expressed are my own!
Do you have an #IWILL?
Cheers,
LC
p.s. I have a PLANNED (eek, over planned) recipe post for tomorrow. This one I couldn’t pass up because it has to do with a NON PROFIT that is dear to my heart and a new NUTTZO CREAMY giveaway.
I want so badly to be able to workout again! This knee nonsense cannot be over soon enough! I need healthy motivation in my life and I feel I’ve found the right things to aspire to become and achieve. It’s all about balance and it DOES take trial and error to learn… I just wish I had opportunities to grow instead of constantly battling loss.
you will soon friend. Hang in there. Healing is key!
Go girl! Yay Team FF!! So excited we’re cheering each other on! And I love when goals are just about being better (you don’t have to conquer the world to be a proud, strong athlete!)! Warms my heart.
I LOVE the spirit behind your #IWILL team, it suits you and your heart perfectly, especially the sherpa part. AND I love that you are not overplanning this or overthinking it — coming from someone who constantly falls into these two ‘over’ traps, I know how hard it is NOT to do!! xoxo
I SO GET THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have not even done my UA post yet – I am sometimes overwhelmed by things & need to step back, breathe & write it.. just not sure how I want to write it yet… 🙂
Thank you for a great post!
I try and remember that perfection-ism is the opposite of humility…
humility, to me, is knowing that any greatness is not OF me but THROUGH me. Takes a lot of pressure off and reminds me to always be connected.
well said well said. How did i know you’d leave the perfect response? 😉
I am so guilty of over planning, too! I am learning (slowly yet surely) to break the habit!
yep, same. we can be accountable
I need you to be my sherpa!!!!!
And I need to finally try Nuttzo.
#IWill continue to do everything to make that happen.
[Love you. Beautiful post.]
you know i will! any day!
Overplanning – my biggest weakness!! We can help each other stay in check, friend! It’s hard to ask for help, but sometimes it is a must. Perhaps that is your next step…ask and you shall receive! if I were closer, I would help in an instant and if there is anything I can do, ever, say the word 🙂 I am loving all of these UnderArmour posts from everyone, absolutely beautiful! I love your goal and mantra for this!!
you do more than you know! i promise. so thankful!
I love being apart of this campaign, def joining your team!
yay!! so glad.
You always say just the right thing at the right time. I don’t know how you do that…or maybe we just live parallel lives…
Thank you for being you! I hope you have an incredible weekend! xoxo
i think we can read each other’s minds too! seriously!
Ah friend, always beautiful and inspiring. I think that being humbled, realizing we’re human can be a good thing. It reminds us to step back, re-set, find what’s most important.
We are 100% on the same page, huh? Humility is a beautiful thing in recognizing we are human and make mistakes. I’m so ready for the REAL priorities to be back in focus. To feel like a family again. To have time to enjoy life again. I’ll be praying for you in this busy time too. I guess there’s a season for everything. Hopefully this season passes quickly for the both of us.
it is beautiful! and i agree. Tis the season. But I also think we can grow from this, yes? Love you, wish we lived closer, indeed. xxoo
I just found your blog this morning, and oh my gosh, I love this post! The quotes about perfectionism and mistakes are wonderful — that perspective is truly beautiful — and they’re just what a lot of us (myself included) need to hear. Thank you for posting this!
so glad it helped Lilian! Thanks for sharing. xxoo
Love you and love your UA goal! You can be my sherpa for sure! You rock and are so beautiful inside and out!
Happy Friday! <3
happy friday! <3 you ALWAYS!
I definitely need to just chill and let life happen. I am a HUGE perfectionist and I definitely need to still wrestle with this daily with my walk with God. I am working on it though!!!! Thanks for encouraging me! Sorry I dont comment often! Its sometimes hard to know what to say :/
glad you shared friend. Always here for you! <3
great goal, Lindsay!! 🙂
I love your goal, Lindsay–tackling the trails and trials of life. Beautiful, and so inspiring! Like you, I’m focusing on nurturing spiritual and physical healing and strength. This isn’t a time to get ambitious with my workouts, but I’m excited to cheer on those who are! Hugs, my friend! I can’t wait to give you a REAL hug next week! <3
it’s gonna be a MONSTER HUG!
Hunnie, you are such a fabulous, beautiful, encouraging & inspiring lady! <3
that’s how i feel about YOU!
Okay, whoa. THIS: “Realizing that yes, I may have over planned, I may have made one (or two, or three) business mistakes, I may have forgotten about dinner till after 8pm, I may have worked too hard, not rested enough, and neglected my REAL priorities.”???
I swear I had every one of those thoughts today. And yesterday. And the day before. And the one before that….
I love these posts, Lindsey! You are always in my head and it should freak me out, but it doesn’t.
Also? I forgot about dinner tonight until 8:30, so I skipped it and went right to dessert. Pudding made with cauliflower…basically counts, right? There’s a veggie in it! 😉
i’m in your head in the most non creepy way, yes. totally!! And that dinner/dessert, i’d eat it. FOR SURE
I haven’t had ANY time this week to check out UA anymore than just setting up a profile… But… Even that confused me! lol… #technology – Yep, I did it, I hash-tagged a comment! 😉
haha, hashtag away!! I feel ya!
Here’s to being perfectly imperfect!!! I love your take, as always. Thought you do make some pretty darn perfect Bites! 🙂
tee hee *blushing*
I just love you. I am sooooo good at being a perfectionist and agree with the quote you posted; we punish ourselves for not being that perfect being that we think we have to be. Admittedly, I am already beating myself up for feeling I don’t measure up to a lot of the women who are much more for that I am or a lot healthier, etc. This definitely is a wake up call that I desperately need. Thanks for the but-kickin’ 😉
You spoke my very thought. xxoo
oh brother… the typos in my comment! whoopsie 😉
<3 <3 <3
ah sometimes we are so on the same page! p.s. can you send me your new addy plz! 🙂
I love you! I am over planned and FRAZZLED. I’m certainly joining your team!
oh i need to chat with you soon! xxoo
I love being perfectly imperfect 😉
I love your blog. What you said is so true.
<3 you friend.
Have I ever told you that you’re my most favoritest (it’s now a word) sherpa? It’s what you do, and you do it damn well <3 Thank you for the continued motivation to always keep climbing.
well, it’s a word to me. And you are my FAVORITE. really!
I love everything about this! I think it’s important for all of us to remember we are human – and our mistakes and missteps don’t define us so long as we’re willing to pick ourselves up, brush ourselves off and keep on trucking.
I absolutely love the goal you’ve laid out and know with full confidence that you can achieve it 🙂
indeed friend. We never fail, just fall.
You are such an excellent sherpa and encourage to all.
well i find encouragement from people LIKE YOU!. xxoo p.s How are you feeling?
Oh Lindsay I love your goal – yes, tackling the trails and trials of life. That is what’s humbling AND beautiful. Can’t wait to follow you!
i know you will be on the same journey. <3
After I came across your UA profile today, it made me want to switch mine. LOL. Sign up for a trail race is good. But I like my goal. so i will keep it. Yay for having a Sherpa around. We’ll need it, too. 😉
shall we meet up for a trail race? tee hee
You are ALWAYS my inspiration for taking a deep breath and realizing life is ok and that things always work out!
oh woman, i adore you! you give me hope in all things!
I’m joining your team, Melissa sent me the invite today – hooray!
YAY!!! LAB FOR THE WIN!
