Simple truths. I feel as if they stand out more on the weekends, maybe that’s because we’re a bit more relaxed? Or at least our minds are.
The simple truth is I meant to write this post this morning, but instead I met up with my dad and we walked the trails with the pups.
The simple truth is Austin really doesn’t have a winter. It goes from Fall to Spring and I’m not complaining one bit!
The simple truth is I made a special Healthy Bites flavor this weekend and I am going to SHARE the recipe! Yes, I just had to! But more on that Wednesday. Hint: I used a few NEW INGREDIENTS.
The simple truth is that not everyone is going to like what you like or eat what you eat. Paleo, Vegan, Low Carb, gluten free, macrobiotic, primal, you name it. But we all SHOULD share a similar interest in HEALTH and WELL BEING… our OWN well being and our families.
Pickles and peanut butter anyone?
The simple truth is that at times we all feel overwhelmed… with life, work, lists, decisions, frustrations, ambitions, and more. It can cause a dark cloud to hang over our head, yes? But I’ve realized the only way to move the cloud is to persevere. Have Faith. Have Hope. Easier said than done, but do-able!
The simple truth is that selecting just one winner for the Healthy Bites giveaway was hard! I have a feeling there will be more to come. Random generator picked Sarah! And I love her flavor choice for April.
Happy Simple Truth Sunday.
What’s Yours?
Cheers,
LC
p.s.
Sarah, you finally get to try the bites! YAY!
So I’ve decided…from now on, Heather’s flying south (to Austin) for the winter! I’d give anything NOT to get away from this horribly cold (and gloomy) weather we’re getting right now!
Guess what! I JUST tried my first peanut butter and pickles combo the other day! I wasn’t sure what kind of pickle people normally pair with it, so I went with bread and butter since I’m not really a fan of dill. It was…interesting! Not too bad, but I’m willing to try it a couple more times before I just write it off as a been there, done that! 😉
Pickles and Peanut Butter? Now that’s one I haven’t tried. 🙂
really? Oh man, you’d love it! like marmite and PB!
Simple Truth.. I wish I lived in Austin. No winter sounds good to me… plus you are there!
Pumpkin powder?! Totally intrigued.
My simple truth is although today is a busy day, I’m incredibly grateful for the clients I’ve signed the past couple weeks!
yes! you would love it! I got it from nuts.com
i love these simple truths! what a great easy going weekend for you 🙂 and i love austin weather!
My simple truth is that I am not perfect. I know, it’s a shocker to everyone! I’m not, I never will be, and I only demonstrate my lack of trust in God and in HIS perfection when I pretend or try to be!
PS, I love pickles and peanut butter. I grew up on PB and pickle sandwiches, and most people I meet think I’m crazy. Seriously? They’re the crazy ones!!
All those diet “labels” really bother me – why should we have to justify what we eat with a title? If you are striving for health and balance than you can do no wrong in my opinion! YUMMO those Healthy Bites look great, and I love the flavour-winning idea…. mmmmm.
yes, well said Lou!
Love all the outdoor pictures! And totally jealous, you look so tan!
🙂
two words…spray tan. 😉
One of these days I will win some Healthy Bites, until then I will forever be known as your “garbage disposal”. My “simple truth”…a Saturday night with a bottle of wine, take out, and a sappy romantic movie is sometimes so simple and so satisfying. Exactly what I needed!
I completely agree that regardless of all other factors, the one thing we can all share is the interest in health and well-being. Because without that, well we pretty have nothing!
so so true! our interest in health keeps us going!
I wish NY went from Fall to Spring! We go from Fall to WINTERFOREVERRRRRR – it’s snowing right now – yep. wahhh!
move here and then i find you a hot Texas man!
You have no idea how much I wish RI would skip winter too.. Ugh.. I just want warm weather! Raspberry coconut?! YUM
Oh wow do I wish it went from fall to spring here! THEN the weather in New England would be perfect 😉 the simple truths…I know you are always one I can count on for some clarity in the area of balance and no apologies necessary. Live for the right reasons!
Pickles and Peanut Butter? Yes please.
But I do have to disagree about Austin having no winter…. it was WAY to cold for me. LOL.
haha, this is true. But not that i have more “meat” on me, i am not as cold here. LOL!
My meat is keeping me MUCH warmer in the pool I have noticed. That means no more excuses and I’m back in action.
Watch out #fitfluential
*wink*
haha, LOVE IT! GOOD STUFF.. *wink wink
I saw my name and was all excited until I realized that I have one of the most common names in the world. [Sigh.] 😉
Gah! I miss Austin. The funny thing is, when I lived there, I kept saying I missed the seasons. But that is NOT TRUE. I actually don’t like winter. I’m not sure why I thought I did.
I guess the simple truth is we always seem to want what we don’t have, and we need to learn to love what we do.
i will wish you would have stayed… just sayin
Amazing pictures and I am so glad you got to spend the morning with you Dad. You both deserved the time together!
Simple truths are so simple to forget… oh faith! Great reminders to start off the week. XO
Love it! Simple truths. I love that you walk with your dad. I wish I had that still. Do it as often as possible.
I think we need to do a meet up in Austin. Looks gorgeous!
i sure will! cherish those walks with him!
I love these truths, especially the one about not everyone liking what you eat. I’m thinking of going gluten free for various reasons and I know it will be hard amongst some family and friends.
Beautiful pictures of Austin!
Love it. Needed to read this today (as always). have faith, have hope, persevere. HUGS friend!!!!
pickles and peanut butter?!?! giiiirrllll….??? 😉
Gorgeous view off your balcony! I wish Houston had scenery like that! Mmm, looking forward to the healthy bites recipe.
I am jealous of Sarah! I will order some bites soon! Simple is better I just wish I could always think that way, this is a good reminder for me!
My simple truth: Austin is 5 hours, 43 minutes away from where I’m moving in August for a two-year job (OKC) . . . I’m intrigued enough to take a road trip!
mmmmmm pickles!
THIS LOOKS LIKE PERFECTION!! What a sunday!
Simple truth – now that I know Austin doesn’t have a winter, I may relocate. 😉
simple is ME and what it takes to make me happy.
Whoa! Pickles + PB is definitely a new combo to me…. I’m always willing to give anything a try… They always say don’t knock it till you try it! However, that dinner+wine combo on the left – I’d devour that. Have a wonderful week – Only 4 more days! 🙂
I sooo wish we did not have a winter here, so lucky! I was supposed to fly out to NYC today, but due to weather, I am not going until tomorrow now. Snow and freezing rain here, boo!
Happy Monday love! <3
it’s so hot here. Crazy! I think you should fly here instead!
Congrats to Sarah!! Yay for an upcoming healthy bite recipe! 🙂 Have a wonderful Monday, Lindsay!
The simple truth is…I am beyond blessed to call you my friend! I can’t thank you enough for the advice you’ve offered me over the past few days. <3 Your email this morning really resonated with me–it's as though you were reading my heart. The fear is definitely there, and what you said about letting go of the control and enjoying God's gift, is something I prayed about all day.
I'm so ready to move to Austin so that I can enjoy the sun with you! Kombuchas on the porch this week? 😉
i am so ready for YOU to come here too! Some day! For now, sending hugs and love and prayer. <3
I always love these posts.
Simple Sunday’s are totally the way to go! Relaxation, recuperation, and ending the week with goals for the new week.
Yes preserving through the dark cloud is the only way to really get through it!
Have faith in the process and trust that everything will be okay.
Happy Sunday!
AHHHHH!!! OH MY GOODNESS!! Thank you soooo much Lindsay! I am soooo excited!!! You KNOW I have been dying to try them! I literally started jumping up and down!! THANK YOU THANK YOU!! And simple = happy in my books! Especially when it comes to Sundays! 🙂
simple sundays are the best! 🙂 can’t wait for the new recipe for healthy bites! 🙂 yeahhhh! 🙂
I wouldn’t be complaining about a lack of winter either! 3 days until spring and it still looks like winter wonderland around here. If you ever find yourself in need of some snow, you know where to find me 😉
How awesome are pickles and peanut butter?!? Sounds like the perfect and simple weekend! 🙂
I have my eye on those sunshine Healthy Bites! and pickles and peanut butter? YES please! my kinda girl!
yep, we are soul sisters!!
Simple is always key! I really like this 🙂 And I keep forgetting to make my HB order — email coming to you this week!
Perseverance is one of the greatest simple truths. I did it and look where it got me?! (Hehe…i haven’t actually shared the answer to that yet). 😉
Sarah is a LUCKY lady!!
Simple is the best. They do seem to reveal themselves more on the weekends, no?
Ahhhhh! It is true that sometimes the truths and hope can be easier seen on the weekends! Sometimes they can be harder! But I do love the quote!! Fresh air definitely helps…don’t you think??!!! Happy Sunday!
Simple = perfection.
I love this post And I so badly want to go to Austin. 🙂
you should!!!! austin awaits!
I meant to write a post yesterday and enjoyed time with friends and then time with my couch. Sometimes other things are way more important – like hanging with your family and pups.
after your big run, it so well deserved! Love it!
