Oh you know what day it is, right? It’s Wednesday!! More importantly, it’s WHAT I ATE WEDNESDAY sponsored by the lovely Jen at Peas and Crayons.
I am so glad she does this because it really challenges me to get out of my comfort zone with picture taking and meals. Good spring cleaning of the mind there. This WIAW also allows me to focus on those nourishing and gut cleansing foods. Lets take a look, shall we?
WHAT I WORKED WEDNESDAY (WIWW)
- hill repeats on a short hill. You can do this on the treadmill, bike, or elliptical. Make the hill last 45 seconds to 1 minute.
- 5 forward hill repeats, 5 backwards
- 5 single leg hops forward/backward with the right leg, followed but 5 single leg burpees. (Repeat set 5 times on each leg).
- 5 pushup with a core twist then 5 mountain climbers (repeat 5x)
- 5 side kicks with weights on shoulder (5 on each leg) followed by 5 power squat jumps (repeat 5 x)
- 5 pike press pushups followed by 5 tucks or pikes on stability ball (repeat 5x)’
- 5 side burpees (alternating sides) followed by 5 side plank raises (repeat 5x).
Cool down! No more 5’s!!
Anybody Spring “Cleanse” with food and sweat today? I hope so!
Cheers,
LC
p.s.
Need some encouragement about why you do what you do? You gotta read THIS POST then. It’s a good one!
wow, you are spot on! cottage cheese, tahini, and avocado! Best combo. I even added a little cholula sauce, not pictured. Its like a condiment parfait! Lindsay ________________________________
Your eats look amazing! I bought some beeeeeauitful strawberries today and automatically thought of you! ;)Is that cottage cheese, nut butter, and avocado on your sweet p? Yum!
oh its so good! I also like to add a little tahini and GF tamari sauce somtimes. 🙂 Lindsay CotterNutrition Manager & Fitness [email protected] www.cottercrunch.com ________________________________
Yum- I love all your eats. What a good idea to fill a sweet potato with avocado– i'll have to try that:)
bonnie, this is such a great perspective! Thank you for sharing! I know you are super busy on tour but just being mindful of good food and movement is healthy for the mind and body. I hope all goes well! And at least you can bring your TRX!! hehe. Lindsay ________________________________
The tempeh and sweet potato look so good! Delicious dinner…I'm inspired!
Your food looks delish! 😀 Isn't it fun to fuel your body well? I feel so much better when I do, and I love getting ideas from others' photos/recipes! I've enjoyed some really healthy and good eats today, but no exercise – it's so vital for my day to function well, but being "on tour" makes it hard to find time and ways to exercise. Grateful for any movement I can get! Until life gets a little slower, I'll be continuing to watch what I eat and enjoy it all without scarfing down food on the run and try to stay balanced that way. Thanks for the good eats – and I LOVE side burpees! Definitely a workout I can do on the road; thanks for sharing!
i know, mine too! I love it with coconut butter too. Just all arround good stuff. Lindsay ________________________________
I love the sound and look of that bean and wasabi hummus sandwich! mmm!I still need to get on that WIAW thing…
Sounds like a killer workout! And sweet potatoes with nut butter are one of my favourite combos EVER!
ugh, what a bummer. I did know that could affect you that much. I think it might a blessing in disguise though. You'll be well rested and more motivated to run soon. YEA! Lindsay ________________________________
thats crazy, warm then snow??! But at least you'll get some tater lovin' in!;) Lindsay ________________________________
Crusher sounds good! Where is it from? Lindsay ________________________________
i'm gonna go with WIDW – or what i DRANK wednesday – 3 glasses of The Crusher Pinot Noir. no workouts, and nothing fun to report on the eating side!
I <3 WIAW .. such yummy foods 🙂 Beans are the beeeest! Along with sweet potatoes YUUUM
Sweeeet potatoes!! I miss them so much, I guess I haven't had them as much because it was warm for a few days! Now the snow is back:( Happy Thursday, love!
I think so!! I have it in my mind that they help speed recovery 🙂
Mmmmm, your eats look wonderful – as always! 😀 Yay for the workout! I'm feeling very sluggish these days which I think has to do with the sea climate in northern Germany because I always have it during the first week at least when I come here. When I'm back in Heidelberg it'll get better again, and then I'll try to get into my little running program again which is on ice at the moment because every movement seems exhausting right now. Well, not the right time. But the right time or relaxing definitely. 🙂 And focusing on good food. 🙂
yep, exactly like regular potato. Try it out! its delicious. Will keep you warm up there!;) Lindsay ________________________________
plyometrics make me sweat more than running. Feels good, right?! Enjoy your day friend. Lindsay ________________________________
you should! it actually makes me get more creative, at least one day a week. haha! Lindsay ________________________________
I have a love/hate relationship with hills too. A good burn after but dang they hurt during! LOL! Lindsay ________________________________

Delicious Eats! (As always)I "Spring Cleansed" my body with a fun jump rope workout. I did a bunch of different intervals, with different speeds and skipping moves. I forgot how much fun it is to skip, and it's such a great form of cardio. Why do I do what I do?Well, I love to cook/bake and I guess I do it and am passionate about it because that'show I was raised. I spent the majority of my time in the kitchen helping my mother, socooking is just second nature to me. My mother passed on her love of food to meand I am very thankful for that.
Trilogy is my first love! The citrus, gingerberry, and cranberry. But the enlightened has a little different taste, to me at least. Let me know if u try it again.
Wow-that potato looks incredible (along with the rest of your food). Do you like Cranberry kombucha? That was the 2nd flavor I tried and couldn't stomach it..but that was so long ago-I feel like I should give it another shot.
haha, totally a double wammy. All I was missing was some Kimchi, need that recipe. hehe. Lindsay ________________________________
yes you need to try those bagels……with BEANS! hehe. Glad we have the same taste buds here. 🙂 Lindsay ________________________________
I think sweating is good! No shame! and those are cultures in the kombucha, so good for you!! What flavor did you try? I would go for the berry flavor first! Lindsay ________________________________
love is an understatement my friend. They are the best! Lindsay ________________________________
Do you like those bagels? I've seen them at whole foods! And killer workout! I have a strong hatred for burpees 😀
Love What I Ate Wednesdays! That sweet potato looks so goood!!! I also have to confess that I think I am the sweatiest person…ever (like it is almost embarrassing haha) If I cared at all it might keep me from working out in public buuuut I don't 🙂 I have to tell you I picked up a bottle of Kombucha at Sprouts today and could not believe that you love it so much….it looked slimy and that is something I cannot handle girl!!!!
OH MY GOD does your food look amazing!!! I need to get some Udi's bagels…they seriously look so fluffy and totally BOMB! Love the pinto lovin' btw…I could (and do) eat cans of those at a time! So good:) And sweet potatoes…mmm!

what a delicious looking day!
workout by 5s. i like it. i do that too with my strength stuff…keeps me mentally in the game.
sure did have lots of spring cleanse foods! Cinnamon oats for breakfast, lunch was an almond butter sandwhich, and supper was spinach salad and sweet potato with tumeric and sea salt! Sweating was less exciting just an "easy" recovery for a couple hours and played in a waterfall for an ice bath! Spring cleanse is fun!
Great job, heart! That looked like a fun training session! AND THAT SWEET POTATO LOOKS SO AMAZIN'! My mouth is WATERING! :O
If sweating cleanses, then I'm one clean chica! LOL

My brain is sweating from working so hard today. Does that count? 🙂 No workout today and haven't put much thought into my eats today (leftovers!!). Wish I could have!!! Looks like you did enough for the two of us though, right? 😉 Have a great night Lindsay!

Working out is the only thing that helps clear up my keratosis pilaris (I get it on my arms).Beautiful food pics!!!!
Just reading that 5×5 list made me sweat a little. Could be the fever talking though. HAHA. I can't wait until I am feeling better so I can get my sweat on for REAL. Soooo miss that high. So much. And ps. now I'm actually craving something – a sweet potato with avocado, what a great concoction!
I'm eating good gut brownies today!! 🙂 I only ran (treadmill) today, because I am sore from weights yesterday, and I had little time, therefore treadmill @ home… but it was a good one! I am back home now and eating quinoa + red peppers. SO good. that whole plate you had sure looks fab. I don't eat enough sweet potato!
