Yup! We’re in! Now we just need to hit up our storage unit and that’s that. PHEW! So by the end of the week we should be settled. That’s my goal. Let’s see if it happens. LOL!
But today I wanted to share with you another guest post. This one is special because it comes from a LONG TIME blogging friend of mine. We’ve stayed in touch even though she doesn’t blog anymore. And now you’re about to find out why. LOVE HER PASSION!
Hi Cotter Crunch Readers!
I guess I better start by introducing myself… I’m Sabrina! Some of you may remember me from Radioactive Runner. I fell off the blogging bandwagon awhile ago… sometimes life gets in the way and we just have to go with it, right?
One of the reasons why I wanted to reach out to you guys is because lot of you are so passionate about living a healthy lifestyle by exercising and eating healthy. Although, do we ever think about the products we put on our body after a long run or a hot yoga class? I don’t know about you but I definitely wasn’t very aware.
Let me introduce to you a company that I am very passionate about: Arbonne. Arbonne has been in business for over 30 years offering industry leading, botanically-based prestige health and wellness products with over 450 consumable products. A man by the name of Petter Morck wanted to provide safe products for his family which inspired his vision and desire to create his own cosmetic line. He partnered with Pierre Bottiglieri from La Prairie. I had never heard of La Prairie either and the reason is because their Anti-aging line runs at about $3000.00 [for 8 weeks worth]. Pretty sure I can’t afford that! But don’t worry because our Anti-aging line runs at about a 10th of the price and is formulated by the same man. We are formulated with Swiss Heritage. In Switzerland there is a list of over 1300 ingredients that are banned from being used in skin and personal care products, as compared to the 8 in Canada. That’s a huge difference! For example Mineral Oil is one of the banned ingredients in Switzerland and guess what? It is the #1 leading ingredient here in North America. Pretty shocking if you ask me!
Why are Arbonne’s products different?
PH CORRECT – all of our products sit at 5.5 whereas PH Balanced means it sits anywhere from 0-14 on the alkaline scale. This is important because our skin is supposed to sit at 5.5 acidity.
Our products are 100% Hypo-allergenic. We voluntarily test to 0%.
We are vegan certified and peta approved. We do not use any animal by product which comes from the multi-million dollar government mandated animal waste recyclying program called Animal Rendering. Feel free to google it, although just a warning that it is a bit graphic. Here in North America there are red bins that are used for recycling animal waste (similiar to our blue bins for recycling plastic, etc). Any spoiled meat from the supermarket, slaughterhouse remains, sick stockyard animals, leftovers from meat packing plants goes into these red bins and is then shipped to Animal Rendering Plants. The contents are then boiled for an extended period of time. You know how we would normally scrape off the foam at the top when making homemade chicken soup and throw it away? Well, what they do is scrape it off and then sell it to cosmetic companies and it is then used as a cheap filler. Yuck! If it’s considered unsafe to consume then we sure as heck should not be putting it on our skin!
Arbonne personal care products are also formulated without: Parabens SLS Formaldehyde donating preservatives The following petroleum-based ingredients: Benzene Mineral Oil Petrolatum Phthalates Toluene PABA
Arbonne nutrition products are formulated without: Artificial colours, flavours and sweeteners Animal products, by-products Cholesterol, saturated fats, trans fats
Let’s talk about the “elephant in the room”. What IS network marketing? Contrary to what a lot of people may assume, we are NOT a direct selling company! I am not a salesperson, nor do I want to be one! Essentially, Network Marketing is an effective distribution system via word of mouth. Let’s be honest, ladies and gents, we recommend and refer products, restaurants and stores almost everyday anyways! So, compared to traditional retail where hundreds of thousands of dollars are spent on the “middle men” such as the warehouser and advertising, in network marketing the products go through an independent consultant (like myself) and directly to the doorstep of the consumer in 2-3 business days. Rather than paying the middle men to do the work, Arbonne pays the consultants for their referrals. How does that work exactly? Before I started my own business, I washed my hair, took vitamins and protein shakes etc. Now I just follow 3 simple steps: I STOP buying retail, I START buying all of the products [that I can] from my own business and then I TEACH a network of people to do the exact same thing. I don’t want you to be MY best customer; I want YOU to become YOUR best customer. When we run out of shampoo or soap, we don’t stop washing our hair or body, right? We buy more.
We are always reminded by many awesome bloggers (Lindsay being one of them!) that we should treat our body like a temple; I wholeheartedly agree and strongly believe that inlcudes our skin [condsidering it’s our body’s largest organ]! At first, I was hesitant to write this guest post and give a brief education about the company because in my experience that’s often when people decide to google the information themselves and usually misunderstand what my business is all about! Once I thought about it, I realized that this is a great opportunity for me to reach out to you beautiful people and that maybe you too are needing a change in your life.
Let me explain a little bit about how this great opportunity came into my life. One of my best friends of over 20 years approached me a year and a half ago about joining her Arbonne team. In the beginning, I didn’t want anything to do with it. To be honest, Arbonne sounded like some sort of cult and everything about the business was just too good to be true. I didn’t understand, if the products are so prestige, why are they not selling it in department stores? Now that I am more educated about the company and business, I understand that THAT’s part of the beauty! After trying a few of the products myself, absolutely loving them and realizing that they really do sell themselves, I decided to take the chance and start my own business! I decided that 2013 is a time for change and the year to really step out of my comfort zone. Let me tell you, I am so happy with my decision! I love that I can make my own schedule, choose who I want to work with and most importantly, spend more time with my family. I am able to see first hand what our prestige product along with a generous compensation plan really can do for families.
If you’re looking for an incredible business opportunity or are just wanting to use a safer product, I would love to hear from you and share more! I’m happy to help, answer any questions or even recommend some of my favorite products. I have an amazing offer for those of you interested in trying the product. I want to give you a 35% discount on your entire first purchase (only available to US, Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom residents… sorry!) Visit the Arbonne websiteto view all of our products and then email me at: [email protected]
Anyone ever tried Arbonne before?
Thanks Sabrina! I’m so happy for you and your new venture!
Hi, y’all, I’m Lindsay Cotter, a Nutrition Specialist with a focus on Gluten-Free eating. I love creating delicious nourishing food that anyone can enjoy.
What a great blog! I’ve also just joined the business and can’t say enough about the products. And… They’re not tested on our little furry friends which made me smile ear to ear 🙂
So exciting you just moved! I’m going to by the end of the month, lots of work and looking-forward to being close to the husband all the time! 🙂 🙂
Wahoo – welcome back to blogging, Sabrina! (I miss you!) 😀 Great post. I love what Arbonne stands for and their ingredients and policies…I have a friend here in Calgary who sells their products. I’ve gone to try them out before and received some samples too; unfortunately I had a mild reaction to some of the products and was a bit itchy and had spots from it…Kind of odd! But it sure did feel good going on. 😉 Just not the best for me face I guess. Great company to be a part of though, from what I’ve seen!
eee! So exciting! Hope you can get all moved in by the end of the week:) I’ll be rooting for that challenge.
I’ve heard of Arbonne before, but never really knew much behind it or anything! Interesting!
Hey Allison! The man that formulates our products actually created the Nuetrogena glycerine bar. I would love to tell you more if you’re interested. I’m currently looking for people to practice my presentation in front of 🙂
You’re IN!!! Hooray! I know first hand what a good feeling that is 🙂
And love Arbonne. Really good quality for makeup without all the crap in it 😛
I’ve been an Arbonne RE9 convert for a little over a year now. Love the entire line! And my local Arbonne consultant is amazing!
Congrats to you for finding a business that you’re passionate about!
P.S. Lindsay, love the new look of the blog and where are you moving to? (I think I’m a bit behind on my blog reading…)
oh we just moved into a new house. But i think it’s the last time we move for while. PHEW! and i’m always behind on blog reading. so no worries friend. xxoo
I have a friend that uses this… Me, daily changes due to age hormones so I have to stick with things close by that I don’t have to send back cause so many things just do not work on my 55 year old face. Lindsay – so glad you are almost done with the move! 🙂
Ironically, I just started using an Arbonne facewash. I was having skin troubles, so I switched it up, and my face has never been more smooth and clear. I love it! I don’t know the name off hand (I’m at work), but I recommend it! 🙂
