Happy Monday and Christmas week! I’m ready for it. And I’m also ready for the reset to re-power. Hang on here, you’ll get what I mean in a minute.
You see, I have a week off from teaching at the gym. Yep. Now instead of cracking the whip and tackling my own runs/workouts more, I like to RESET. It’s needed (for me) in this fitness industry. If I am able to RESET my body and mind, then I am able to RE-POWER my mojo come January. January is when it get’s crazy at the gym! PACKED!
Resetting means slowing down. It means less intense workouts, more yoga. More rest. More time outside, more time sitting down and eating meals instead of on the go. More time SHERPA-ing the KIWI, good thing I like that job.
I know, I should be telling you to “squeeze in more workouts” during the Holidays or “count calories to keep ON TRACK,” but that’s not how I think you gain health. Resetting means listening to what your body needs, like my husband did a few weeks ago—> EMBRACED the off season. By resetting his mind/body he now has more power to train and prepare for the 2014 season.
I’m pretty sure most people can relate to this right about now, yes? A simple Focus on the needs, not wants of your health.
Then come January, we’ll feel a little rebooted and recharged instead of like this.
And speaking of Recovery and POWER, Let’ talk COREPOWER and GIVEAWAYS. You all know we love our Corepower. In fact, I hang out on the Corepower Blog quite often talking all things nutrition, recipes, etc.
Well, they have some good new to share and fun things to giveaway for the new year. First, the good news.
THEY ARE THE OFFICAL Protein Drink for the 2014 Winter Olympics! Pretty AWESOME since this company started from scratch. And yes, I knew them with they started!
A little about Core Power —> it’s is a natural milk-based high protein shake that provides strength and post-workout muscle recovery, and also makes for a healthy and great-tasting between meals snack.
- All natural: made from real milk
- Protein: for muscle growth
- Carbohydrates: to provide energy
- Electrolytes: to rehydrate
- Fatty Acids: to improve recovery
Core Power contains the natural whey and casein proteins from milk – never removed from their original liquid state. The result is an effective and better-tasting protein drink made with simple ingredients, with more protein, calcium and vitamins – but no lactose.
And second, COREPOWER want to giveaway a FIT KIT and COREPOWER samples the NEW YEAR. You know, so you can use it after you reset and re-power.
The Fit-Kit includes an exercise ball, a gym towel, a water bottle and a gym bag (all Core Power branded).
Open to US residents.
And in CASE you want A CASE yourself—> Core Power is also available online at Amazon.com (http://bit.ly/CorePowerAmazon) and will be offering a $5 off per case “New Year, New You” promotion on their Amazon store that will last the entire month of January. Sale starts January 1st, so be on the look out!
Giveaway winner will be announced in week. So in the meantime, enter in and then have a MARVELOUS week RESETTING and CELEBRATING your Holiday Break!
Cheers!
LC
p.s.
Come back later this week or next and I promise to give you a KILLER workout, but after I rest. k?
I haven’t tried any but I love all things chocolate!
I’ve been evaluating some goals and trying to figure out what I plan to do with my life in 2014
i think i wiould enjoy the chocolate.
I will read through my journal. it’s good to reflect on what has happened in the year and see where you can make changes for the better.
strawberry sounds good.
to reset and move on into 2014, I will spend my morning at Church and then running the trails behind my house.
I’m going to take a look back at 2013, and see what little steps I can take to make 2014 even better. I am all about little changes, but not a fan of huge resolutions.
I’m resetting by reviewing – the past year, my marriage, my wedding! I love looking back to put looking forward in perspective!
i love that! xxoo
I am a big fan of breaks, but I do look forward to the packed classes…so much more fun to teach! 🙂
I’d love to try the chocolate
i spend time with my family and close friends.
Chocolate would be my choice.
I like to reflect on the past year and all that has happened.
Strawberry sounds good!
I cleaned out my fridge and cabinets, and restocked with healthier options.
I would love to try the chocolate.
I’d like to try Banana.
I reset by catching up on needed sleep and still getting my me exercise time in despite the hustle and bustle.
I would try the CorePower 20g in chocolate!
Forget what happened and start over again
I want to try chocolate!
I reset for 2014 by cleaning through my house!
I’d love to try the chocolate!
Journal, journal, journal! Reflect, reset.
chocolate sounds really good!
I clean my house from top to bottom. my grandma taught me to start the new year off on the right foot!
I haven’t reset yet at all! Between family and getting all the gifts ready I haven’t had time to relax but for the next week I will be resting and relaxing! 😀
I would love to try strawberry or chocolate. Those are my usual go to flavors. 😀
I reset by getting a good nights sleep. Love the blog!
Reset by relaxing alittle before I start January 13 marathon training
I would like to try the chocolate
I would really want to try the chocolate flavor! I just can’t turn down anything chocolate!
I’m going to reset for the new year by simply spending as much time with my family as possible. I miss them so much during the school year, so it’s time to catch up! Thanks so much for hosting such a great giveaway! Merry Christmas!!
I would love to try the chocolate! My plan to reset is taking a week off to refresh mentally and physically.
Reset by taking the week off and relax a little more
I reset by taking time off from the gym – my husband and daughter both have birthdays in the two weeks leading up to Christmas, so between celebrating, working, school, and preparing for Christmas festivities with family, the stress of trying to carve out even more time just doesn’t seem to be worth it. Then, once our festivities have slowed down and I reclaim a bit of organization in the house, it’s back to the gym with goals 🙂 it seems to work well and I don’t lose the motivation or priority battle by trying to keep it all at full steam through one of the busiest times of the year for our family!
I have never tried Core Power and the Classic Vanilla Flavor is always my favorite. Thank you so much and Merry Christmas!
I journal and focus my thoughts on what I have completed in my life in all areas – personal -family, friends, spiritual, professional, health and fitness too over the past year and then reset my awareness to new endeavors to continue growing for the upcoming New Year!
I would most like to try the Strawberry Banana as that sounds very appetizing and would be tasty in a frozen smoothie with a frozen banana and ice and maybe some peanut butter too. Thanks!
I reset and regroup for the New Year’s by writing out and detailing new goals for the next 12 months and mark off accomplishments as the months progress. Thanks!
Reset? Hmmm, by sending the kids back to school? My whole life is changing this January, with a brand new stay at home job. Plus-es and Minus-es. So I’m just really anxious to see what the new year has in store for me! And how I can manage this new life.
oh i think it’s a good thing! best of luck and keep me posted!!! xoo
I’m resetting into 2014 by taking a deep breath, focusing on my clear and positive intentions for the New Year!
I would love to try the Strawberry Banana flavor as that’s a classic fruity combo!
You know I get and love all of this. Happy holidays my dear friend. Lots of love xox
Tony loves the vanilla! What a great company! So excited for them!
I’m definitely resetting with slowing down. I’m only teaching 1 day this week and next week. I’m so with you on this! I get overwhelmed with everyone talking about more holiday workouts and strategies on how to eat. Stress less, relax more and just enjoy the season.
Hmm, just thinking about this very topic. After my horrible cold 3 weeks ago, last week I returned to my workouts. Plus moving. Christmas shopping. And, oh yeah, being a mom and a wife. Aaand…the cold made a comeback, and turned into a sinus infection. Which I canNOT get rid of! I think my body is trying to tell me something and it’s time that I listen! So this week, I’m resting, playing games with the kids and Ian, watching Christmas movies with my mom (who is also sick), baking/cooking, and re-focusing. All that to say, I love you for this post!!!! (Well, I love you anyway
and i love you! so much and miss you! hope the move is going well. PRAYING
I always try vanilla first!
I reset with hanging out with my family and my puppy before I head back to school in a few weeks! I am enjoying my time doing absolutely nothing 😉
I need a reset too. Today was my first day off. I slept, I slept so much it was disgusting, but apparently I needed it.
I spent most of Christmas Eve and Christmas peacefully napping with my cat. He’s a little purrball, and he loves snuggling, so how could I resist? I still can’t believe how much I slept, but I also figure my body needed it.
rest, refresh, and kick some booty in 2014.
oh yes, we totally slept a lot too! needed indeed!
I’ll reset by practicing yoga on and off the mat!
Vanilla is always my favorite!
I am using my transition as a reset, too. I’m pretty sure my body needs it and will appreciate the rest. Happy Holidays to you all. xoxo
sounds like we are on the same page!
I would love to try the Chocolate Core Power!
I reset with some relaxation and find some new workouts and healthy recipes for 2014!
‘Angel’ Cotter is here ALWAYS when I need her!! NEEDED this friend!! ABSOLUTELY NEEDED to read this, this very minute. Jess and I were just g-chatting about something stupid and miniscule, and then I read this and bam, right there with you. Reset, recharge, now is the time. XOXO so grateful for you!
Cant wait to see the Corny Cotter come thriving in 2014 like a boss…after this reset and repower!
Come over for a BBQ.
fire up the BBQ, we’ll head on over! corny and all.
😉
That picture of you face planted is always my favorite…It’s usually how I feel after your ridiculous “crazy cotter” workouts. No more clients for me until I’m back in TEXAS. WAHOO! XOXO
haha heck ya woman! get er done!
Chocolate sounds good!
Resetting means enjoying the holiday time with family and friends, staying active, and sleeping in!
I have tried ALL of them except banana because I am not a fan of banana flavored anything! haha 🙂
There won’t be much relaxing for awhile with the move, but excited to start a new adventure with Nate! <3 love ya!
I’ve tried the light strawberry banana but not the chocolate yet!
I love doing hot yoga because it’s relaxing and warm!
I’m a chocolate girl, all the way, so I’d love to try that!
I reset for 2014 by looking back on 2013 and thanking God for all the blessings he has given me. I also try to set new goals and focus on things that He wants to be priority in my life, which may have fallen by the wayside.
oh i love that sami!! so true!
I want to try Strawberry Banana. I reset by getting ready for next year and reflecting on how to improve myself.
I’m resetting by embracing my off season of December and starting anew in January with my first ever treadmill! No more icy runs!
I’d love to try the strawberry banana!!!!!
The strawberry-banana looks delish!
Resetting for me is reflecting on what I accomplished this year, and planning out my next year.
So refreshing to hear someone talking about resting around this time of the year. All the talk of surviving the holidays has me a little worn out… especially because rest is EXACTLY what I need to survive the holidays after all the crazy running around that’s involved in the weeks leading up to them!
I love the idea of resetting and recharging before 2014. I plan to kick 2014’s boo-tay! 🙂
I would love to try the chocolate and strawberry banana!
I’d love to try the chocolate and banana! Maybe a mixture of the two? 😉
I’ve been resetting for 2014 by finding a new place to live and starting to figure out a new routine. I’m also trying to take advantage of all of the new sights and fun things around me!
I would love to try the Chocolate flavor!
I think resetting is just celebrating and enjoying the end of the year and the holidays but also getting lots of greens in and setting up habits to take into the new year!
I have had the last three weeks to reset after having the baby so I am ready to tackle 2014! My reset included lots of newborn snuggles on the couch 😉
I’ve been seeing these at our local Kroger and have wanted to try them out! I would love to try the chocolate 🙂
Bah ha ha ha ha ha! You better believe my mind went STRAIGHT to the gutter when I read, “Sherpa-ing the kiwi” – And OF COURSE YOU LIKE THAT JOB! 😉
LOL! now i must make that our code for… well, you know.
I reset by chilling out – on work, on doing stuff, on traveling, on stress, on working out – everything. I try to at least. I’m not always successful though.
I know this is boring, but I think I’d want to try vanilla first. If you can do a good vanilla, the other flavors are probably good. IF you screw up vanilla, you aren’t worth it to me. That’s how I judge. ;|
i love their vanilla, but i think i like the banana the best. You would love it. I know!
I’ll be taking a couple days off from the blog and soaking in all the precious time with my family. 🙂
Banana!
Spending time with loved ones!
I’d love to try the strawberry banana
I’m going to try and reset with some yoga and stretching
This year, I am definitely reseting my resting my body as well. “Resting” for someone who is used to running all the time has been a huge mental struggle, but very much needed for my mind, as well as a fatigued body that I have been fighting for too long. Learning to rest, relax, and enjoy the holidays with people I love, running less and shorter in prep to get back after it in the new year.
And I am definitely interested in the Strawberry-Banana or the Vanilla! Never tried Core Power, so I would LOVE to win and get to test it out! Plus, I’ve been needing to get a physio ball 🙂
Merry Christmas!
Strawberry Banana!
I’ve tried strawberry banana and would love to try the rest!
Hoping you have a wonderful time of resting and resetting this holiday season! In the New Year, I’m going to limit my added sugars for a few weeks to reset- I never like to say eliminate, but I’ll be a bit more careful then than I will be in the next week or two!
I spend as much time as I can with family (especially the babies!) before hectic 2014 begins!
I would love to try them all since they’re lactose free!
The light Chocolate shake sounds great….and it’s made with stevia! Love that fact.
To reset, we have 2 weeks off school and PE classes. Some extra sleep and then time to be ready to come back in full-swing for 2014.
I reset by trying to get some extra sleep, focus on eating healthy foods, and enjoying working out with friends!
Since it is winter break it’s much easier to reset, with being home away from school, I do a lot of baking which helps me relax and take classes at the gym with my mom which i don’t do at school
I want to try the chocolate light drink
I am supposed to get some so I will not enter – still waiting though.. 🙂
Love the reset for the new year – YES! 🙂 Enjoy your time off!!!!
I’m all about chocolate and vanilla so I’d love to try those flavors!
I am going to just try to leave 2013 behind me. It was a tough year and I want to look at January 2014 as a great reset and refocus!
What a great accomplishment for a start-from scratch company! I would love to try their products 🙂
Have a good rest girl and Happy Holidays to you guys!
More Yoga sounds like a great idea.
we are doing lots of resetting this week. we are taking it easy for our workouts, lots of walking and hopefully yoga too 🙂
xoxo
Happy Holidays!
I get the week off work starting tomorrow so I’m going to try to really RESET and step away from my computer more than usual. And then i’m going to work on my plan to ROCK 2014… 😉
I did a mini reset yesterday. No guilt, unplanned rest day. I started to really think why I was going to go for that run. In the end, it wasn’t because I was looking forward to it even. So I backed off and did absolutely nothing. It was kind of glorious 😉
I think I am already on forced reset time with my injury! But I did take a good week of complete rest back in Nov. It was needed!
I’ve never tried Core Power but it sounds like I need to. I think the chocolate would be the first to try. The Fit-Kit looks amazing! Really would like that under the tree :0
I re-set by really being mindful when I’m around so much family. It doesn’t happen often so I really want to remember the stories and the laughs all year long!
Merry Christmas to you both! I hope you have a wonderful week of REST. xoxo
chocolate sounds yummy
Resetting for me has been pulling back and recovering from my last great adventure. I’ve been able to handle all the shopping, and really be present for the kiddos without arranging things around my own agenda. Mission accomplished.
I just started trying Core Power!
Strawberry banana looks yummy!
And I’d love to try the chocolate 😉
I reset by taking a few extra minutes everyday for calming things for me (reading, painting my nails, extra long shower, etc) Just a few minutes does wonders!
I’d love to try the Strawberry Banana. =)
