I could sit here and recap in great detail what the past 4 days have been like, but I won’t. If you’ve seen the news or been on Facebook, you know. You know the depths of the fires that surround us, you know how many lives have been affected, you know how hard the rescue teams have been working.
But what you don’t see on the news….it’s unbelievable. The amount of support, the volunteers, the donations, the hugs, the caring phone calls and emails, the community that serves each other and gives the clothes off their back, and the prayers, oh the prayers! Friends, that is some amazing GRACE. .
We are home today. We are safe. We are thankful. We will do what we can to help this community move forward.
Tomorrow I will take the hubs to the airport. He’s off to race World Champs in Vegas. A little tired but oh so grateful.
Our lives will be back to normal soon. But for our friends who lost everything, it will take more time. Nonetheless, they will be covered in prayer.
Thank you for praying. Never underestimate the power of prayer!
<3
Cheers,
LC

I am so sorry this has happened and I have been GLUED to the news lately & praying everything shapes up soon.
Take care 🙂
thank you allie! i can feel those prayers! <3
I can’t imagine what it would be like to lose everything — in a fire, a hurricane, a tornado, whatever. Just that feeling of being robbed, but no one to blame. It must be terribly painful.
i’ve been thinking about you & i’m so glad you’re safe & sound!
Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear. Isaiah 65:24
beautiful Jenny. Thank you for this verse!
hey lady! let me know if you need anything. lots of love to you <3
ahh, youre awesome! just being you is enough. Thanks Julie! <3
It’s times like this that you see the best in people, you get to see God’s kindness through humanity. Good luck to your hubby, I’m sure he will rock it! Texas is in my prayers for sure 🙂
so true! God has show great love through people kindness. Its breath-taking!
I love Brazil. Today, I had lunch with my gym friend, and as we went back to our gym (which is above the supermarket), we ran into her hairdresser. We stopped to chat with him, and through his broken English and my non-existent Portuguese, we started having a spiritual discussion. He has a bunch of tattoos that he says are about the way that God and his family make him a better person. I said, “I believe in myself, and I believe that my soul is better off when I put positive energy into the universe.” He said that he knows God’s love exists because you can see it whenever he’s kind to people. I said, “I’m kind to people because everyone is, at root, a human being, and the cause of humanity is furthered by kindness, not malice.” And we just laughed and hugged it out because, essentially, our philosophies are different and yet completely the same. It was fun. So I feel ya, even without feeling ya, if you know what I mean. Glad you’ve come through these trying times (mostly) unscathed!
aw steph, i love this story. Did you get a picture with this guy? I sure hope so! I want to see the tatoos. And yes, i feel ya without feeling ya. Much love friend!
<3

awesome sarah. You are my prayer warrior! love it!
You know I’m a HUGE believer in the power of prayer – I’ve seen God work miracles right before my eyes just because I asked Him for help. And He always comes through – it might not be exactly when you want Him to, but He does, all in due time. So glad you two are safe, have been praying away up here in Boston for you and everyone impacted by the fires.
you know I wish we were neighbors. I could talk to you for hours about this. Your stories and how God has answered prayers in his own way! just amazing! thank you for always being a blessings in my life!
Sending you much love and support, Lindsay…I understand how hard it is when a commnuity is in upheaval and there is danger all around – the Kiwi and I experienced the same kind of thing in the Chrsitchurch earthquake this February, we were there from February – April. It is so intense and exhausting, but it is absoultely incredible and amazing and heartwarming to witness and be a part of people coming together, supporting one another through thick and thin, it is truly a gift of challenging times. Think of you and wishing you well. <3 xyx
you were there! wow! my mother in law livves there and when we go to NZ in november, thats where we will be staying. We hope to help restore christchuch as much as we can too. So scary! And yes exhasting, but so powerful to witness the kindness of others.
Thank you Yolie for sharing this.
<3

I’m so glad you’re ok! I’ve been thinking of you often & praying for your safety… now my thoughts turn to your friends who’ve been affected.
