Happy one word weekend. Last weekend I posted about focusing on a word that you want to live by. My one word was accept. I think I did a pretty good job of it too.
Anyway, after following the freshpedition videos and updates the past few weeks, I had FRESH on the brain.
I thought about how fresh foods can refresh our mind and body.
Bam, just like that I made a quick recovery snack or light lunch for me and the hubs yesterday. Coconut creamed Quinoa with broccoli slaw, chopped dates, and bacon. Total time to make? 15 minutes. All thanks to my rice cooker/steamer combo. Fresh Food to Refresh.
Posting recipe Monday.
I thought about how great companies (like Chobani) deliver fresh products to our door step so that we care share good health with out family. Refreshing taste too of course!
Just look at those fresh faces. So cute, dang!
I thought about how cool it is that I get to make FRESH Healthy Bites for those who are training and need a post workout refreshments or need to refuel mid run. Thanks Jess, you make me even more passionate about this job. Refreshing to hear, yes?
I thought about how after 8 to 9 months of letting my body and mind rest from intense workouts, stress, etc., I am finally feeling REFRESHED and happy to just BE.
I have to thank FRESH air for saving me during that time.
So ya, as corny as this post may be, it’s true. Freshness is all around us. From food, to life, to relationships. I think that’s how we define HEALTH and HAPPINESS, but taking a FRESH approach to life. Pun intended.
It doesn’t get much fresher than this now, eh?
GE is continuing this same passion for fresh food with the Freshpedition Sweepstakes. This sweepstakes uses Pinterest, which means you can actually pin for a chance to win all new GE kitchen appliances.
And there’s even more to win!
You can also enter each day of the sweepstakes for a chance to win a $100 VISA® Prepaid Card. Entering for this prize is fun as you’re asked to pin your favorite fresh foods or your own recipes. Also, these pins when hashtagged with your state (e.g. #GEfreshTX) become part of a “Best of Fresh” map featuring freshness from around the country. Great word!! Fresh applies to me right now.. I get a fresh start today with the new school year 😉
best of luck!!! it will be a REFRESHING YEAR!
FAITH.
that’s one of my favorite words.
Fresh has such wonderful connotations! Mine is release! Letting go of anxiety and worry over things I can change.
oh wow, i love that word. Release control, fear, anxiety, worry.. yes!
totally jealous of that chobani lovin!
im not on pinterest because im a grandma and have hit my social media capacity. 😛
oh and thanks for the awesome comment about our happy happy news!
i hear ya on that. we need to cap our social media somewhere.
One word: scattered. I try so hard to not get frazzled when things are busy, but this has beena struggle for me since getting back from vacation. I need to take a page from your book and NOT WORKOUT, but when things get stressful like they are for me lately, I fall back into old routines. Starting classes soon and I have so. much.to.do. UGH.
Teach me, oh wise Lindsey. 😉
NOOOOO… you can do it. take a step back somewhere. mind over matter friend! you know this. praying for ya!
My word this weekend is REST. Hopefully after all this rest I will feel good and refreshed for work on Monday. Crossing my fingers…
oh good. are you feeling better? any test results back yet?
I love your word of the week! There is nothing better than feeling refreshed and eating fresh and clean foods! It makes all the difference for me!
yes indeed! and i bet that GF PB banana bread would refresh me right now.
i think that my word for today is, “soothe.” after a long, hard catering shift last night, my back is screaming at me this morning. instead of punishing myself through intense exercise i did some yoga and i’m going to enjoy a nice afternoon walk! soothing my body and soothing my soul!
oh girl, you need a soothing massage and bath!
HEllo!!!!!! Long time no visit!
One word to explain my weekend – FREE!!!!!
Hope you guys are doing great!
and PREGO! Right? hehe
I so want to say I feel REFRESHED today but I’m just TIRED. Stayed up too late hosting a farewell party. I barely drank, I’m just not used to staying up past midnight! Glad you are jazzed though 😉
oh man, midnight is late. I hope you slept in this morning and SAVORED your Sunday! maybe savor should be your word today?
SAVORED is good. I did do that!
Exhausted! Heading to the beach on Thursday cannot come soon enough. Mind and body are exhausted and just a little down, so it’s time to get away and re-charge for a whole week. I’ve earned it and need it in so many ways. 🙂
you deserve it! and i am so thrilled for you! can i come? hehe
My word of the weekend…RECHARGE! Love your one word focus 🙂
recharge is good. i hope you continue to recharge this weekend. It’s a good feeling. P.S. did you get my email back?
Just replied! 🙂
My word of the weak: sweat!
i like it! keep sweating!
As always I love your posts… they make me SMILE!! :-). My one word for the weekend is… FRIENDSHIP. I have been spending time as I always do with friends and helping where I can when they are going through rough patches(like they would do for me 🙂 ) and I find this so rewarding! Having good friends means so much to me and I find I am so BLESSED to have them in my life!
oh they are blessed to have your friendship! what a great friend you are. xoxo
LOVE that my post made you feel just a little bit more jazzed about your Healthy Bites business, how cool is that?? You are in such a good space right now, mentally and physically, I just love to hear that – so fresh and refreshed and renewed!
My word of the weekend? LIVED. As in fully-lived. In the moment. Loving every second. 🙂
oh man that is a good one! i might have to steal that soon, after i have LIVED!
There is truly nothing better than freshness! In everything! I don’t think this was corny at all 🙂 XO!
well cheers to that then! love you.
I’ve decided this little neice of yours has the right approach to life. Naked ice cream eating and now naked playing 😉 I love the fresh outlook on evreything- you sound so happy 🙂
i agree! naked ice cream party at my house! haha.
I love the cornyness! It’s REFRESHING! I am also loving your word of the week. Mine would have to be fun. I have been having so much fun the past week just enjoying the simple things in life.
oh fun, i like fun. I like you! tee hee
Love the idea of picking one word. Fresh is a good one. Mine for the weekend, content.
as in being content not lots of content LOL
thats a great one. And it makes me happy to hear!
This weekend is: rough. Im just struggling with a lot. Cant find a teaching job so I’ll be subbing for another school year. Struggling with thoughts in my mind. Really missing my dad. A few other things are bothering me but its too hard for me to say in a post on your blog. Hope you have a refreshing weekend <3
i think you need a REFRESHment in the word. I’ll be praying for you friend.
