Are you ready for it? Heck, I don’t if I am ready for it, but I need it. Just like I need summer to be over and a new season to begin.
What am I talking about? Good question.
I’m talking about The SLOW DOWN CHALLENGE.
Stay with me here, I’ll explain.
You see, Monday I talked about recognizing (and being proud of) your laboring. One of the things I was working (laboring) on was ENJOYING the every day, the present, the little things. So Monday I signed up for the SLOW DOWN CHALLENGE.
A new season, a new reason. Just in time for the HARVEST season. I want to harvest time, harvest moments, harvest blessings. Sure, life will still busy, but I have the choice to be still when I want. I have the choice to do less, say no, and be okay with it. I have the choice to slow down my pace, at any time, because it’s all about perspective. Am I right?! Yes, I’m always right.
So I started the challenge and I recruited a lot of other “blends” to join me. In fact, they are my inspiration for this challenge.
*Heather, we’ll get out picture SOON!!
Monday’s challenge was noticing what’s around you. The smells, the sounds, the sites. And as we went for our family hike, I noticed. Noticed the simple beauty of nature and the hill country.
Tuesday’s challenge was about savoring. Savoring the moments (even the interrupted moments), the food, the meal time, etc. So I tried. Tried to savor the meal, slow the pace, eat and ENJOY.. slowly. It was HARD. I’m not gonna lie, I need to work on this. I need to TAKE more TIME for MEals. But I’m trying. And that’s A GOOD reason!
A new season, a new reason. Harvest the GOOD. Harvest the PLENTY (Blessings). Harvest LIFE right in front of YOU!
Will you join me?
