Hello Sweet Saturday. I welcome you with open arms! Please feel free to hang out a bit.
This Saturday is extra sweet for me. I read THIS AWESOME devotional this morning and boy did it resonate with me. This quote…“True gratitude is a lifestyle, not a holiday,” got my heart all stirred up with feelings, good feelings, GRATEFUL feelings.
And so I write/video today to talk about a new vision, a thankful vision. I want to spend the next week (or even longer), writing out or taking pictures of those “undeserved blessings.” At the end of our “thankful” time, we will have created a thankful board, journal, etc.
Oh I hope this makes sense. Let me know if it doesn’t. And I do apologize for not showering yet. But hey, it’s the weekend.
Day 1:
I am thankful for sharing a SMILE!
Cheers!

Feel free to email me if you want me to share a picture of something you are thankful for this next week. I will put them all together on Thursday before we leave for NZ!!

Wow…so funny because in Jesus Calling the other day I was FLOORED by the whole “Thankfulness and Trustfullness” are our receptors to be in His Presence and I have been meditating on that quite a bit and in my mind I have been saying “attitude of Gratitude..”
I am certainly gonna be doing this in my mind all week.
So excited to hear from you when you arrive across the pond! Thankfullness and Trustfulless…
yes I know! i read that and it melted my heart. Gosh that book is amazing! I am anxious, yet ready to see what God has in store for us down under. Embrace the change, thankful for that!
This is such an amazing idea… I love it!!
I might have my boys do a thankful board as well =)
oh if they do, you have to email me a picture. I love that!
Great picture of the two of you!
I loved the video.. you are so right, it really is important to be thankful every day and not just recognize the things you are thankful for only on Thanksgiving. Life is to short and we need to embrace and share our thankfulness!
i no i need that reminder DAILY not yearly, ya know? xoxox
oh i love this! i will definitely have to take a picture to send to you. btw, just wanna say i am grateful for both of your lovely smiles 🙂
i can’t wait for your picture. I love all your beautiful photography! And Kelsey, we are grateful for your kind soul. <3
Great idea! I’ve been thinking about getting back to writing a gratitude journal and this is the push I needed.
I know, me too! I always forget about it until the holidays come. Time to make that journal last year around, right?!
Im so so so so thankful we’ve connected.
i couldn’t agree more! And I am thankful for many more times to connect. Happy Monday friend.
Awww I love the thankful post! What a positive and uplifting thing to do 🙂
i think we all need these little reminders to keep things in perspective. Ya know? We really do have A LOT to be thankful for. Cheers Kirstie!
This is a wonderful idea. I think you do a great job of being thankful on a regular basis. You inspire me when you post about it. 🙂
Oh Merf merf, love hearing from you! I am thankful to know you.
You have to post videos while you’re in NZ, so we can all get our Lindsay fix! I’m so grateful that I got to see you today before you left, and for your lovely friendship in my life! <3 I'm going to email you a photo for your gratitude post!

oh you gals are way too kind to me. Thank you! I cherish that kindness. <3
Lindsay, I always love your weekend posts! My weekend could definitely go on for a day or two, because it hasn’t felt like a weekend at all – just work stuff (not even for my own things :(), laundry, and chores … Some piano playing and a walk dispersed through that, at least, but still …
same here friend. But I am thankful to hear from you. Get our and take a walk for yourself. You deserve it!
You are so cute, I love you! This is a great idea.
and I love you! THankful to hear from you today!
I am thankful for YOU friend 🙂 You encourage me, challenge me and show be Christ’s love in a way that makes me want to have an attitude like you!!! Thank you for having a blog, for writing about what you do and for just being a friend when I need one!!
Oaw, Lindsay — this was the perfect way to start my morning (I’m crazy and woke up at 5:00 today…Sunday…yikes!) I’m smiling now, too! It’s so important to take note of what we’re grateful for…sometimes we get caught in a cycle of “wanting” and not of realizing how abundant our lives already are. I’m excited to learn more about New Zealand through your blog…my father in law has family there and is always talking about how gorgeous it is. xo
I hear ya about the 5am. I woke up around the same time. But now we can smile together and be thankful to watch a sunrise.
xoxo
p.s.
Where is your father in law from?
you always know when to come through for your readers and friends lindsay! i am so thankful you are out there inspiring us and being my friend 🙂
oh gosh, thank you Kalli. But I think its blog friends like you that make me thankful and inspire me. I am lucky!
I love your smile and seeing/Hearing you : )
The picture of y’all is cute! Yes, being thankful is an everyday thing, not just once a year. I get a little irritated w/ that…I think it’s important to express our thanks everyday. I mean I know I’m guilty of not I’m just sayin ;). I’ll have to send you some pics so I can be featured on your blog! And I’m so excited for your upcoming adventure…so fun!!
Love you <3
oh how I’ve missed your voice Katie. I can’t wait to see your pictures. You know I loe the ones that you text me. It really makes my day. i will miss them them when I am in NZ. You’ll have to email me instead.
Thankful for you.
I love this idea. I kept a gratitude journal for a while because I saw studies that show that people who count their blessings are happier. I wrote down 3 things every day that I was thankful for and why, and I really need to get back into it! Thank you for sharing this devotional with us – it’s so easy to take things for granted!
i totally believe that too! I have a prayer/gratitude journal that has been neglected lately. Time to pull it out and make it well used. I am with you Tara!
Your vlogs are just great, Lindsay…I love how you don’t like to type things out. 😉 I was going to comment on your smile too – it just sets me at ease and makes me smile too! You are so easy-going and make people feel comfortable.
I love this idea of consciously being thankful every day…so important, so valuable, so worthwhile to do in your life. Great idea and thanks for the reminder to be thankful…today I’m thankful for a day of rest. It was needed and beautiful. 🙂
i really like this. i was reminded of the true reason for thanksgiving today when i was shopping with my mom at kohls. the checker was saying that she had to cut her t-day celebration short because she had to be at work to open up at midnight. that is just NOT what thanksgiving is supposed to be about! people get so caught up in holiday sales that they forget the people they’re buying presents for! i’d so much rather have a nice thanksgiving dinner than any gadget that might be bought at 1 am on black friday!
oh that irks me. I wish stores would stop with holiday sale pressure and focus on the true meaing. I think all stores should be closed. we need that break and just to soak it in.
You are so cute! I do vlogs when I am rocking the no shower look and turd bun ! Haha!
Love the idea of a thankful board, that is beautiful and would be something to make you smile every time you see it!
Can’t believe you leave soon!!!! I hope you guys are all ready! Love u!
Big big smile on my face right now. Love this idea and love you my dear. I hope you find time to eventually collect all the words and pictures into a single post. That would be so beautiful!
oh i want to! i hope I get some together by thursday. How perfect would that be! and I am thankful for you daily enjoys lists. they really make me stop and smile.
What a beautiful smile! Have a wonderful weekend and looking forward to your exciting trip to New Zealand next week.
Lindsay- love this. I am truly thankful to have found you and your blog. You are such an inspiration. I am IN! After watching your video thoughts of things I’m thankful for are just popping up. See what you did? 🙂 Hugs!
oh yes!! i love that we found each other. I respect you so much as a woman, wife, and mom. And thats something to be thankful for. Spread the love! <3
Awww, Linds! You know I love this, and I always love your video blogs! Feels like I’m talking to you. 🙂 I keep a gratitude list in my iPhone. I add to it everyday, sometimes multiple times, but always at night as I reflect on the day. Our friendship is definitely on that list!
i know, i totally thought of you when writing this. Youre my inspiration friend. And for that, i am THANKFUL!
I love that quote at the beginning! If you haven’t already read “1000 Gifts”, it’s a book you would love. Gratitude really is a way of being. I’ve been really trying to slow down a focus on those little gifts during the day and writing them down. It makes me smile to go back and read them. I’ll send you a picture next week! Big, big week for you guys!
i need to find this book. I bet I would love it! Thank you Jen, so wise!
I’m outrageously excited for your upcoming move!! Will email you a pic for sure! Love you!
yea! i can’t wait for your pic. I bet is brilliant! Love you.
Ahhh I love this (AND YOU!) so much!! You’re absolutely right – gratitude is not a once per year thing, it’s something we should be constantly celebrating every minute of every day that we’re blessed to spend another day on this earth. It is SO easy to get caught up in our little worlds, forgetting about the wonder and beauty and amazing things that surround us. From great friends, to great families, to the stranger on the street that smiled and said hello to you out of the blue. I need to follow your lead on this!! You amaze me with your wisdom, seriously. xo
no you amaze me! I see such true passion for life in you. Thanking God each day for those gifts! Yes, lets follow this lead together.
What a perfect devotional…I really needed this today, thank you! And I LOVE when you post videos, you are so cute! Being thankful shouldn’t be a once a year thing, or even a once a day thing, we should always be thankful. I totally agree.
i know. and for some reason, i forget that! I need this daily reminder, so it will be good for us all!
Oh my gosh I’m thankful for your smile! I love your energy and inspiration! I hope you have an incredible weekend!
Agreed! Your smile is contagious!!! 😀
Enjoy your weekend m’dear!
oh thank you. I think smiles are contagious. Good thing too!
and same to you dear friend! I’m smiling right now just reading this. <3
