Hello and Happy Almost New Year! Well in about 8 hours it will be 2012 here and I am THRILLED to get this YEAR DONE WITH! Yes, I am screaming that! I am not going to go back and look at this year, really have no desire. Don’t get me wrong, I love seeing how everyone else’s year has evolved and grown. It’s very comforting. But for us Cotters, we’re giving 2011 the boot. A nice kick in the old arse. Amen?!
So, let’s end it with something good. A giveaway. A kiwi giveaway to be exact. I’ll let the video explain because let’s face it, I’m on a video kick.
Can you tell we like our new casual clothing?
The hubs and his uncle Trevor (founder and owner)
You know you want to get your hands on one of these awesome T-shirts for 2012, right?
How to win:
- Like Wild Kiwi on Facebook (mandatory) and tell me that you did so.
- Check out their site and tell me what shirt you like.
- Read their about page and tell me what you’ve learned about our cool kiwi family.
- Wish someone around you a BEAUTIFUL 2012 (mandatory)
- Tell me why you are ready for 2012.
I’ll have the hubs pick a random number next Wednesday, on our 4 year anniversary, for a winner.
Good Stuff!
Now I want to talk to the year 2011…. I am saying goodbye, farewell, au revoir. You were a hard year. Ya, you challenged me, in fact you challenged us. But that’s okay because it made us come together, made us stronger, made us take chances. I will never be “friends” with you but I will keep you as an acquaintance. You’re a year that will never be forgotten but definitely needs forgetting, does that even make sense? Ha, I laugh now. I laugh at how much energy there was wasted on you. Sorry, but it’s true. Don’t take it personally though because we’ve moved on. In fact we moved countries to escape the last bit of you. Your sister 2012 seems quite inviting and we open her with welcome arms in return. So without further adieu ……
Goodbye 2011!
Cheers,
The Cotter Crew
wish I had gotten onto this! I love the clothing, and just cant afford it 🙁
oh bummer, i wish i could have sent you one!
Happy New Year!! Wishing you 365 days of pure happiness and bliss! I am so ready for 2012! New challenges, new adventures and hopefully some new wines to taste. And might I add, I am in love with the black “Wild Tattoo” shirt! I would wear it with the Wild Kiwi Army Cap. And Happy (early) Anniversary to you love birds!
yes, and you would love FABULOUS in it! Here’s to you and 2012 freedom.
p.s.
thanks for the anniversary wishes.
🙂
Family entrepreneurs! Very cool! 🙂 I love me some casual clothing, too – luckily the past 3 jobs I’ve had (including the one I’m at now) have been on board with the “casual attire” idea. My lululemon accumulations didn’t get to waste 😉 hah.
Happy 2012!!!
haha, i love that. Casual attire is a must for productive work, yes? and Happy 2012! you better be planning an Austin trip.
i actually love the sweatshirt you have on, but dont see it on the website!
have a wonderful 2012 my friend!!!
And lastly, I’m ready for 2012 because I feel such a fresh start in my heart as it concerns my relationship with Jesus. More on that in a post (today? tomorrow? soon!)…but I am reminded so much that i.am.second, and I want to be a stronger second to Christ. May He reign in me anew in 2012!
After checking out some of their products, I’m a fan of Wild Kiwi’s soft shells – and couldn’t believe the $80 price tag. SO affordable for a soft shell and perfect for Calgary days or for layering in the mountains!
Congrats on the sponsorship! And I’m so glad you’ve got this in the family – what a cool company (and giveaway – thanks!). I learned in the about me section that Wild Kiwi was founded to give tourists AND locals with a uniquely New Zealand clothing brand that will remind them of their time spent on the island (whether visiting or home). I LOVE that concept. Seems like a great company!
Amen to learning through these hard times. I am so with you! This year has been nothing but a learning experience, but I am going to make that knowledge a good thing for 2012! You know I wish you and James all the best this coming year! Happy New Year my friend! xoxo
oh i know you are! but i am so glad we had each other this year. It truly was a blessing. Cheers to you and your AMAZING family Sarena!
xoxo and BIG BIG HUG!
I learned that Lesley has traved to over 30 countries! I hope 2012 is one of your best years yet! You totally deserve it and I’m sending ton of positive thoughts your way! 🙂
oh thank you Lauren! positive thoughts are welcomed with open arms!
I love the Blue Polar Fleece! I love warm cozy fleeces! 🙂
I liked Wild Kiwi Clothing on Facebook!
I’m actually jealous that you got to kick 2011 to the curb a day early by going to NZ, I’d liked to have kicked 2011 goodbye a day early too!! I’m with you on your farewell to 2011, I’m not friends with 2011 either. I’m feeling the same way about the end of this year as I did about the end of the racing season…goodbye 2011 and bring it on 2012! I actually think 2011 almost turned me into that wild kiwi shirt, the Tikka one, a wild kiwi Tikka monster. hehehe
Happy 2012 friend! Can’t wait to see all the amazing things it’s going to bring!
i swear we lead parallel lives, eh? I hope you make it down to austin. I think that might heal all! seriously!
Happy New Year Friend! Wishing you a wonderful, happy, healthy, and prosperous year…Ciao 2011! xoxo
happy new year my fabulous friend! how was your night? FUll of good fun i am sure!
I loved this post and your attitude towards 2011. My sentiments exactly. We survived my husband having no job from August to December 23rd. But looking forward to a much better 2012! Hope you and your hubs have a great 2012 and Happy New Year to you!
oh yes, cheers to a STRONG 2012 for you and your hubby. I know it will bring good things, cheers!
I checked out their site. I’d go for the hoodie…love me a good hoodie. I learned they have free delivery in New Zealand.
I liked them on FB.
Happy New Year friend!
thank you friend! happy cooking in 2012!
Awesome giveaway! Happy New Year to ya’ll!!!
I liked them on FB!
Happy New Year my southern Hemisphere friend! How did you celebrate?
I love your talk about 2011! And I know exactly what you mean with “forgetting” without REALLY forgetting it. We learn from the hard times and they only make us stronger as individuals! I’m so glad you are safe and healthy and happy 🙂 Cheers to a new year! Happy New Year, Cotter Crew!
thank you Lauren! and so glad we can relate. Lets keep that 2012 STRONG together! Cheers!
Wishing you a much better 2012! 2011 was good to us, but we are still reeling from 2008 and 2009, so I know your pain. To new starts!
yes, agreed. Those years were tough as well. A new start and hopefully another meet up in 2012? Cheers friend!
It has been a joy to read your blog =)
I absolutely love the kiwi brand! Esp. the hoodies… so cute!
Here’s to an amazing 2012!
Happy New Year my friend =)
You are amazing friend. Thankful for your words! and to an amazing 2012 indeed.
I wish you and your hubby a better 2012!
oh yea! wonderful Jenn. Happy healthy 2012 to you too!
I learned the company started in 1998.
I would love a red spandex hoodie.
I liked them on Facebook.
running kiwis = best ever! I love the logo! I wish they made onesies… (have some pull with the designers?) 😉 I know some babies who would be FIERCE in wild kiwis. I love the Pohutukawa photo, too—makes me PINE for NZ! While I, like you, am SUPER glad 2011 is gone, for your sake, anyway, I think it’s pretty awesome that this difficult year brought you to one of my favourite nations! And South Island? Better still.
May your new year bring you peace and happiness, friend!
oh i need to tell them that idea! onesies! I think NZ is pining for your return, or maybe I am, or both! Cheers to peace and happiness steph.
I told The Husband to have a beautiful 2012…he looked at me sideways at first but then I explained the random well wishing!
In reading the About Page I figured out that I should probably read up on New Zealand and its culture before I plan a trip and I probably won’t be able to pronounce anything local!
oh yea!! are you coming? You will love all the wonderful trails and hills! Hope you get to sport some Wild Kiwi too! hehe. Happy New Year!
I’m seeing a ton of green clothing on their site…so I’m sold! I’m such a sucker for green!
I liked them on FB.
Hello! I’m a fellow FitFluential Ambassador and found your blog via our group =) I know what you’re saying about getting 2011 outta here. Although 2011 wasn’t horrible for me, I’ve had those type of years. Ugh.
Loving the Wild Kiwi concept. I “liked” them on FB. I especially like the hoodie you have on in the pic (white lettering) or a shirt with the crest or the hoodie with the running kiwi…lots o’ choices! Just favorited their site. It’s my dream to get to New Zealand. In the meantime maybe a hoodie will do!
It’s cool how they’re a small group of people making a product they love. Your post also lead me to research the kiwi bird. Never knew it existed! Did you know they lay the largest egg in relation to their body size of any species of bird in the world. Crazy!!
I just wished my husband, David, a beautiful New Year.
And lastly, I’m most excited for 2012 because we’ll be traveling to Italy to celebrate our 10 yr wedding anniversary and then I’ll be training for my for first Half Rev3 Triathlon. Woot!
Happy 2012 to you and your husband!!
oh thats so wonderful Heidi! I am thrilled for you and this next year. And congrats on 10 years! We will be heading to a few REV3 races ourselves so we’ll have to meet up. Happy Training and Happy New year!
I agree 2012 is gonna be good for the cotters! I can feel it 🙂 hope you had a fabulous day and night and woke up ready to tackle the new year. Love your videos Lindsay 🙂
I sure did! Have a fabulous run on the trails and now we are off to explore the harbour in Auckalnd. Happy New year to you and Bill!
Happy New Year GORGEOUS!!!!!!! Love You and so happy to see you’re running forward to greatness!!
I liked the page!
I love the NZ squared T!!
xxoo
Happy New year to YOU!! Thank you for being such a rock this past year. Your daily encouragement kept us going!
I am ready for 2012….I hope it brings us lots of joy as a family and that my kids will continue to grow up to be the kindest people they can be, that is my goal as a mom to raise kind good guys!
oh i just love that goal because it is so VALUABLE! I am sure you will do just that. ANd thank you for your kind words. We are ready to embrace all of 2012! Cheers caroline!
I wish everyone around me a beautiful great healthy 2012!
I like the reason why Trevor started this whole thing to have cool clothes to wear outside NZ and to share with others! Love that
I like the NZ squared shirt
and I like their caps!!
I follow them on FB!
ok before I do the step for the giveaway I want to wish you and James ALL the BEST for 2012. YOU deserve a good year…make that a GREAT year! so CHEERS to you guys!
I liked Wild Kiwi on Facebook, love the Moko Mens T-shirt for my loving husband and learned that the company was created to give visitors and kiwis distinctive clothing to reflect their adventures in New Zealand. I think I could relate most with Tanya Cook, being an embroiderer and mother of 2:) I am wishing my husband and three kids health, happiness and safety in 2012. I can’t wait for a fresh new start in 2012. As the kids grow up, each year just brings so much more learning and growth in sport and their little personal lives. I can’t wait!!
oh yes, agreed! much to learn each year. Wishing you and your family health and happiness! Hugs!
I’m ready for 2012 because of BLEND and the growth of my blog (and later in the year, my family hopefully!). Meeting you hopefully too!!
I love their stuff!! So cute! The Melon Hoodie is my favorite!
um hell ya! babies!!! Blend!! and Blogging! the three B’s. hehe.
LIKED on facebook! Love the blue hoodie you are wearing… the gear looks great, how fun 🙂
So so excited for 2012… it’s going to be a good one, I can feel it in my bones – I think 2011 was a real learning year, lot’s of challenges and obstacles that we had to take certain experiences from to grow and further ourselves. All those lessons will be put to good use in 2012 I know it.
Happy New Year lovely lady 🙂 and to Hubs of course!
i agree sweet friend. What a year it was for NZ too. Time of growth for us all, not fun but good in the end, right? Hope you and your beautiful family had a good new year. Still wanting you to come to Austin. 🙂
Beautiful 2012 never sounded so good!! Love it!
Liked them on FB!
I like Tui on Harakeke and a bunch of other things. Thanks for featuring them.. I’ll probably be getting that blue fleece hoodie once summer is over and it gets colder again! 🙂
oh yes! you must! Its a favorite. I bet it would look gorgeous on you too!
haha on the about me page, i like that they are described as “head squaker” and “mother hen” too cute
they are too cute! trust me. xoxo
i like that tui on harakeke shirt…funny name and its cute!
i hope your new year is so much better.
and i liked then on FB
YOU are beautiful 🙂
Cheers to all that 2012 promises to be. A clean slate. A fresh start. Full of promise and joy. xoxo!
PS. I liked the fan page!!
FRESH AND FULL OF LIFE!! Cheers to you BEAUTIFUL friend. <3
And last but not least, I am ready for 2012 because I feel like I’m laying the groundwork for not only a successful year, but a successful rest of my life. Massage therapy is changing me in the best of ways, and I can’t wait to continue sharing that love with my clients, along with putting some money aside and really getting my head back on straight. To 2012! 🙂
I have been wishing everyone I possibly can a beautiful 2012, which I obviously extend to you and James, my friend! I’ve told you that I just can’t shake this feeling that it’s going to be a great year – too many people had rough 2011s, and I feel the potential for positive change so much that it’s practically humming through me!!
I hear that humming and I FULL embrace it with you! Much much LOVE to you this NYE!
I love that Tanya is of Maori descent… I am fascinated with that culture and their gorgeous tattoos!!
yes! its an amazing culture. You would love learning about them here. Oh wish i could teleport you here!
My favorite shirt is the men’s Manaia black shirt.. what a cool bit of folklore and a magical creature! I need this shirt!!
I liked them on FB!
always love your videos!!
and yes good bye 2011 and come on 2012!! I am ready
new year, new changes, new chapter in life
xoxo
amen to all three! cheers sweet friends!
Are we supposed to leave a separate comment for each entry?! Eeesh that would be a lot of comments!! So I will put them all here:
Liked em’ on facebook
Limiting me to just Tshirts?! Oh man… I think the Latitude shirt.
I learned that the company was started because Trevor couldn’t find any sweet NZ clothing companies to give as gifts to overseas friends!
And I am STOKED for 2012 because a) it means 2011 is over, b) after rehabbing from this surgery, I essentially get a chance for a fresh start. Whether that’s still in running/triathlon, or maybe something new, only time (and my femur) will tell!
2011 was the year of injuries, 2012 is the year of comebacks! right?!
😉
Peeeeeeaaacce out to 2011!
I love all the gear, how fun! Wishing you and James a great 2012!
<3
yea! 2012 it is! Hugs to you friend.
I liked the page! And I LOVE the vest! And anything, really!! It will remind me of you!! Cheers friend and I’ll kick 2011 out the door with you, even though she was good to me, she wasn’t good to many, but I feel blessed that she was good to me! XOXO
2011 was a good year for you and I am so glad I could experience that JOY through you, really. It kept me going in 2011!
You don’t have to enter me in the contest – just wanted to wish you a Happy New Year. So happy for you guys and where you are right now. I know things are looking up and that makes me happy for you my friend.
thank you Heather. Looking up and moving foward…..FEELS GOOD! Happy New year to you and Jason.
Also, I would have commented even if I didn’t want to win. 😉
But, you know….I liked them on facebook too. I checked out the about page also, and there isn’t much there, but I did learn that the company is run by just five people. Love me some small business lovin.
you should see their office. Pretty cute with just 5 people and in the middle of the mountains. LOVE IT! And thanks for commenting anyway, you know i just like to hear you ramble.
😉
I agree. Out with the old, in with the new. That’s why I’m not doing a 2011 recap. Its over, I wrote about it while it was happening…moving on and UP!!
I kind of want everything on their site – especially all those hoodies. But I really can’t go wrong with a fleece vest either.
You have a great perspective on 2011 and moving on to 2012. Good times ahead!
Great times ahead and hopefully INJURY FREE! Right?!
I liked wild kiwi on facebook!!
i sense you looked good in a wild kiwi shirt post race! 🙂
Liked them on Facebook!
I like the Tui on Harakeke shirt, so cool! 🙂 Wishing you the most wonderful new year, LC!
and to you friend! Any big plans tonight?
Happy New Year to you and your husband, I wish you both the most amazing 2012 EVER!
Im excited for a new year, 2011 was amazing and Im pretty sure 2012 is going to be more amazing! love you!
Agreed! Like a fine wine, this year will get better with age, right!?
Hugs!
This is so cool!!! I don’t usually enter things like this but with my NZ destination set for next October, I couldn’t resist, plus I do love the designs. So I learned from their About Page (with some help from Wikipedia) that Aotearoa is the Maori (native) name for NZ. That is a beautiful name!
I’m ready for 2012 – new age group and taking my training and racing to new levels.
I’m partial to the Wild Kiwi Crest tshirt (and the melon hoodie, great color!!) They have a really nice palette of colors throughout their clothing line.
Here’s to a great 2012!!! Hope you enjoyed ringing in the new year from NZ!!
yes, NZ and wild kiwi are in your plans for 2012! Ahh good stuff! I cannot wait for you to experience it yourself!
I kind of wish this wasn’t a giveaway post because you’re going to think I’m commenting just to be entered, but I want to wish you a BEAUTIFUL 2012 full of nothing but health and happiness. No matter what it throws at you, at least you have each other (and all your lovely readers, of course.)
Cheers to you!
i comment all the time on giveaway posts if there is more to it. Usually I could care less about winning 20 million yogurt cups, haha. Don’t tell. But I am glad you did leave me one so that I could write back and say AMEN to what you said. We have each other and we have amazing people who support us, like YOU! Cheers to you and a BEAUTIFUL 2012!
Oh, I really love this, Lindsay. It’s well time to kick 2011 in the bum and embrace new opportunities in 2012! My feelings about the past year are similar to yours–numerous challenges yielded (forced?) major growth, whether I was ready for it or not. You’re right though–God has everything taken care of! We don’t need to worry; rather enjoy the ride and get psyched for all the experiences awaiting. I have a hunch that a meet-up with you is part of the grand 12-month plan. 😉
HAPPY NEW YEAR! <3
it feels good to be done with it ….2011! I totally understand your feelings of 2011. Here’s to knowing Gods best in 2012!
Happy New Year to you my friend! I hope you are having a fabulous time on the other side of the world.
Looking forward to more of your adventures in 2012!
I hope this adventure lasts all of 2012 too. Its good to get out and away from life for a while! Cheers to 2012 and to YOU!
Oh Lindsay. I’m happy for you to ring in 2012. It’s going to be a great year for the Cotter crew. I’m so glad to have met you this year, but my heart goes out to you and the many hardships you were dealt. Cheers to those awesome Kiwi shirts ( I’ll have to come back to do my entries later) and to a new amazing year! Hugs!
happy new year dear friend! i am hoping 2012 involves a wine date. HUGS!
Love that about taking chances- what a year it would have been if we hadn’t taken any chances?
no kidding! Taking chances is the only thing that got us through. Speaking of…any chance you are coming to austin?
🙂
You know…I love the clothes. But If I don’t win, I just wanted to post a few times anyway, since I have been absent too long.
best comment yet! <3
Gosh…I am confused! Are you head of, or behind us?! Ah! International dateline, where are you??
haha, we are 19 hours ahead. So yes, its almost new year! woo hoo!
I liked on FB and wished YOU a happy NEW YEAR! We still have a day to go here! !! 🙂
I like Wild Kiwi on facebook!! 😀
I like the pink crest shirt. AND… I may have to order the Wild Kiwi blue polar fleece (like the one you are wearing – it’s my favorite!).
I like that Trevor started the company as a way to get the Kiwi inspiration out there, and bring the Kiwi gift to friends! I also love hearing about Ziggy. 🙂
glad this one is mandatory, because I have been wishing EVERYONE a beautiful new year!! I also wish the Cotters and their families a beautiful, fruitful and successful 2012!! <3
I am ready to put this year behind me too. I had some great things happen, but some poo as well, and I am looking forward to new beginnings.
XXO!
in fact, trevor used to sell t-shirts out of his car! how cool is that!

ahh good choice adn happy new year (maintenance year!)
i liked wild kiwi on facebook!
good riddens 2011! i say farewell! it’s been a really great year of growth for me, but ya know what? growth is hard and i’m ready for alittle “maintanence phase” in my progression. 🙂 cheers to 2012!
you know I love this! I love hearing you talk, and I’m glad you’re giving 2011 the boot…sooner than you would if you were still here in the U.S. 🙂 I know 2012 is going to be a great year for the Cotters. I believe it with all my heart! I liked Wild Kiwi on FB!
friend, i am thankful for your encouragement this year! not sure what i would do without it. Happy New Year!
I want a vest! Not seeing them on their website…what up Wild Kiwi?
