After 6 hours in the car we made it to Lubbock, TX.
It’s flat, dry, and tiny bit warm…..(did we take a wrong turn to AZ?)
The local people are great, the race directors and crew are great, the weather on race day……..
NOT so great.
Weather for Lubbock, TX

My Saturday post run face in 90+F heat. And it was only 9am! haha.

Here’s a little video to keep you entertained while we melt.
Sorry if you can’t hear us, the wind was blowing HARD!
Cheers from the Cotter Crew!
WOW!!! 2 thumbs up for both of you for sticking it out in that crazy heat!!! Love the video 🙂
Wow, I still can't believe that weather. I would have passed out on the spot just from standing in it…

I WISH you took a wrong turn and came to Arizona!!! Although, maybe you don't because it's 109 here…. AT 9 PM AFTER THE SUN SETS!!!! Ugh, highs this week are closing in on 120….. So I can relate. But at least you get to go home and escape from it 😉

Good Luck! We have friends in Lubbock (and my parents and brother went to TX Tech), so I am well acquainted with the lack of landscape…. there are some seriously good people in that town though.
don't melt my darlings! have fun!
it was ridiculous! 110F and he got and IV post race after flatting on the bike course. I fed him lots of gatorade and oreos. I think that did the trick for a bit, haha. Phew! Lindsay ________________________________

Oh my goodness! 90 at 9 am?! I would die. HOpe the heat gets under control some and all the racers stay safe and hydrated.
I can't imagine what it must be like to compete in those temperatures…I wilt in the heat even in the early morning when it's only about nineteen degrees celcius over here.Good luck and please take care!xxx
It's so fun to hear your voice, Lindsay! However I have to agree with Christine–James' voice is so soft…I want to hear that Kiwi accent too! :). Sending you lots of luck for the big day tomorrow! I'm currently in San Francisco, where it's barely 50 degrees, so I'll do my best to send some cool air your way (in exchange for some heat!). 🙂 xoxoxo

I went to college in Lubbock and while I loved it for college, I didn't stay once I finished. I hope the hubs does well tomorrow! Even though it'll be HOT, at least it's not humid!
he's so soft spoken. I'll have to do a whole other post just on the accent. hehe. Lindsay ________________________________

Yowza! I don't know how you guys do it in the heat and make it look so easy. I would be dead! Good luck to your hubs tomorrow. I will definitely be thinking about him.
oh the joys of Lubbock, TX. My dad lived there for a few years–nothing too exciting. Although, there is a hole in the wall breakfast place that serves delicious sweet potato pancakes!
