Well friends, it’s Friday. I really wasn’t on planning on posting much this week. You see, we were supposed to be in the Bahamas for the UWC triathlon.
Well…. hurricane Sandy had other plans and the triathlon has been postponed. Bummer! We won’t get to go but that’s okay. Sometimes you just gotta go with the flow, right?
So instead of running around here……
I’m going to get an extra day to run around here. Different but equally therapeutic! Yes?
And instead of eating out most nights while away, we’ll be making the most of what’s left in our fridge and leftovers.
I call this gluten free chicken tender and chili pepper tempeh stir fry with Cholula sauce! strangely delicious too!
And instead of spending most of the weekend working for the triathlon, I’ll be working for the gym, teaching my classes.
I’ll also be working for myslef, getting those Healthy Bite orders done early!
And working on the November Flavor…. Pumpkin Dark Chocolate Chip perhaps?
Instead of being away from the computer for 5 days, I’ll probably be rereading some pretty amazing posts.
Like THIS one, or THAT one. Two very different reads, both great writers!
Yes, go with the flow is my husband’s middle name. I think I inherited when we got married. Or so I like to think.
That being said, I think I’ll go with the flow tonight and enjoy a glass of wine and VALUE our extra time here.
Are you a GO WITH THE FLOW type of person?
Cheers,
LC
When teaching, I’m very “go with the flow,” but I do sometimes have trouble adjusting to situations that are out of my control in the rest of my life. This is definitely something I need to work on…
Pumpkin chip? YUM!
maybe it just evens out that way? LOL! and how about some pumpkin pie nutty butter, yes?
I totally WANT that bench!! Love it!
And I’ve seen the new November bite…I’m think I may need to put in another as soon as I get paid! I might have to go for 2 dozen of that espresso crunch…PJ asked me today how many he was supposed to leave me…LOL!
oh such a bummer about the weather and the Bahamas!! But you are making the most of it, and getting it done this weekend! That’s awesome. I am excited for the November flavor! and um, think there needs to be a pumpkin flavor of some kind. Whatcha think??
already made it! and i’ve eaten half the batch. It’s dark chocolate chip and pumpkin spice. UM< YA!
Sorry to hear about the hurricane. I’m a go with the flow person and my husband is not! Haha. Definitely makes for some interesting challenges! That’s what life is about I guess!
how funny, it’s usually one or the other in marriage, yes?
although i am SO SAD that we don’t get to meet this weekend, i too felt like i just gained 5 days i didn’t plan on having–so we are tackling projects like cleaning out the garage! woohoo!! 🙂
oh good, wanna come clean out our apartment next? I’ll pay you in Healthy bites. LOL
haha I have to laugh, as I tell myself I am a go with the person. I just feel that sounds better when I talk to people, but really I like order, schedule. But my life lately has not order, so now I am a go with the flow. Or well trying to be
see, i think when you embrace change, you kinda have to with the flow, yes?
My hus is uber chilled, I think I carry enough crazies for the both of us:)
Sorry it got postponed, but you def made the best of it!
Cannot believe Sandy, she’s a mess!
ditto, my husband likes to claim he calms the crazys. LOL!
I never used to be…BUT my husband very much is. And he’s made me much more calm about things – esp those out of my control…so I’d like to think that I am now a go with the flow kind of gal =)
Stinky that the hurricane derailed your plans…we are bracing for it. We are just on the border of an evacuation zone. Yikes. :/
i think we marry these men for that reason, right? They counterbalance us, phew! Hope the hurricane doesn’t affect you!
The trails nearby look just as (if not even more) scenic! Sorry you didn’t get to go to the tropics though! I’m glad your hubby has mastered the art of going with the flow. I need to learn from him!
true! they are just as peaceful too!
I’m so not a “go with the flow” person but I am a “cest la vie” person. I try to control things as much as possible but I am able to let them go, too, when it’s just not going to work out. I guess it’s one benefit of always moving onto the next thing.
But yes, slowing down and feeling the rhythms of life – that’s truly beautiful music! 🙂
c’est la vie is even better. It means life is good because you make it good!
I’m definitely not a go with the flow person…but I think I’m slowly learning to become more “go with the flow.” And frankly, I’m kinda loving the (slow) change! 🙂
i think the trip to AZ is helping, yes?
it’s been amazing…and yes- totally is helping!!
I say that I’m a go w/ the flow person but I’m totally not. I’m working on it 🙂
Happy wknd!
oh i know that! i do that too. working on being the real deal though, yes?
Well, I just flew over Hurricane Sandy and she’s one big storm!! Today has been all about going with the flow!! xoxo for all your love and appreciation.
good. enjoy that flow. i think life is a little more sweet when we ride it, yes?
Pumpkin dark chocolate chip?! It might be time I make another order… 😉
BOTH of those running locations are amazing. I love the forest one! Bummer about the hurricane, but hooray for going with the flow. I am learning to do more of this these days! Enjoy your wine with the husb!! Happy weekend!
wanna come run with me? please! we can get kombucha after. 😉
I’m learning to “go with the flow” more and more! It’s hard to let go and not follow that darn specific schedule I sometimes set up for myself. But I’m learning to loosen up and just go with it, because sometimes you have no other choice. Happy Friday! xoxo
you sure are! and you are stunning doing it! love you! and darn it, wish you were here since i am no longer going out of town!
I’m usually a go with the flow type of girl but somedays….I will be able to flow a little bit more tomorrow once I get my long run done. Then it’s wine time! 😉
well that sounds perfect! cheers!
Have a great one! I live right where the two storms are supposed to collide. Yep. There is some big time Frankenstorm prep going on in my town. Tomorrow is the calm before the storm!
oh not again! be safe!!
Sounds like you have the perfect personality for the profession! I hope you can savor every moment this weekend and I think the NOV flavor sounds irresistible!!
yes, just finished making that flavor and ate one.. um yum! come share with me!!!
hehe i’m soooo go with the flow. it takes a lot to get my worked up or mad! which is a good thing I think. my bf is wound a little more tight and I think I drive him crazy- especially about time! oops 🙂 have a wonderful weekend! i’ll be preparing for the storm that will probably really hit us on the east coast sunday monday and tuesday! ah!
ohh i like that! i bet you are super fun too katie! teach us your ways.
i’m definitely trying to be more of a go with the flow gal 🙂 happy weekend friend! i love your workouts! i try the HIIT/bodyweight focused ones once every two weeks!
let me know if you try any more workouts! you know, when youre going with the flow. hehe
I love you. You’re a living angel.
youre my angel! and enjoy sin city! hehe.
Hahaha and I agree with Jess…wine is UBER-helpful for flow.
Bummer about the tri cancellation, but it sounds like you have plenty to do!
very true, and lots of enjoying!
I’m pretty much all the time a go-with-the-flow off the cuff play by ear loosey goosey girl.
Except when it comes to…..
LOL. Yes, we all like to think we are but no one is 100% so what is important is the times when we find ourselves battling upstream we remind ourselves of things like this.
PS- It is cool the hubster’s flow and your orderly sherpa-ness are like a yin and yang.
we are yin and yang. i think i need to be a little less yin though. Girl, you need to come visit!
I’m definitely not much of a “go with the flow” type person, but I’ve certainly gotten better at it since meeting my husband. He’s good for me like that! 😉
i think this is the reason we marry these men, they counterbalance us, yes?
I love the idea of going with the flow after something so very planned and scheduled gets changed at the very last minute. Embrace it and enjoy my friend. And drink lots of wine, that’s an order 😉
order complete!
I try to be a go-with-the-flow girl, but I usually fail miserable. And pumpkin dark chocolate sounds amazing for the next flavor. I will be ordering those!!
um yes, they are amazing. i just ate one. and you need them. xxoo
I’m totally go with the flow these days….sometimes too much maybe! 🙂
Wine and going with the flow does sound like a magical recipe for relaxation!
maybe CA is good for you, too good? jk
so much to love about this post (aka healthy bites, cough cough… lol)!
I am definitely a go with the flow type person, although I do have my moments 😉 really, what can you do? Might as well take advantage, sometimes the most spontaneous things that come out of cancelled plans end up being the most fun and memorable!
Thanks again so much for the love… it honestly made my day xoxo
well you made my week with that post! so thank YOU!
I used to have a very hard time going with the flow. This year has taught me to move and live a little more like water. I do have my moments where I go crazy and just want answers/things to happen faster though.
the more we go through, the more we learn to let go. ya know? UPDATE ME on YOU!
I am definitely not a go with the flow person ha ha. I’m working on it though!! I used to be a lottt worse, so its definitely improving! I’m so glad you can go with the flow! I need your tips;)
i think it gets older with age, yes?
I’m so type A… I wish I were a go with the flow kind of person!!! I have been working on it though.
i bet your hubby is not though, right? hehe. mine is so chill, it evens out!
*hands over the kombucha slugs* You can have them 😉
I’m not as flowy as I’d like to be, but I’m nowhere near as bad as I used to be. I used to freak out like it was the end of the world if my plans got wrenched, but now I keep my freak outs limited to 15 mins tops and try to make the best of it.
yea for slugs! and yea for going with the flow.. more. I think we live and learn and then let go, yes?
I definitely am these days! It’s been a learning experience, but I’m getting there! I’m glad you made the best of it! Looks like it’s been a pretty great week to me!
oh gosh, you are so good at it! i love how you just roll with it and those crazy boys!
I am definitely not a go with the flow person, I like to plan and have things work out the way I planned…if not I don’t like it. I also have a hard time with change so I’m sure they go hand in hand. My husband is a fly by the seat of his pants type of person though….so I’ve gotten a little better at “going with the flow”….with small things…baby steps.
i think we marry these men for a reason, right? evens out!
Too bad about your change of plans. Hopefully the hurricane doesn’t do too much damage.
Although the beach/ocean is an amazing place to run, your trails don’t look too bad either!
I’m generally not a go with the flow person, unless life/changes dictate it. Then I can do it quite nicely!
i can’t complain either way. Just hope everyone is okay in the bahamas. EEK! and i can tell you care go with the flow. Your tone and all.
my hubby is totally a go with the flow guy, and i have had to change my type-A ways a little bit since we got married. toss a baby in the mix and go with the flow is kind of just the way we roll now!
i figure it just come with age and babies, haha. My husband evens me out. Phew!
I am trying to get you and your husband’s motto to sink into my head 🙂
maybe i should repeat this daily, yes? haha
I’m definitely a go with the flow type of person… it’s so much fun! Sorry your triathalon got cancelled due to the storm but looks like you’ll be having an enjoyable weekend regardless. I have my 1st 5K this weekend & I’m psyched… YIPPEEE!!! Have a great weekend friend! <3 😀
h good luck! keep me posted!
Way to go with the flow . . . I mean, really, what else can ya do? 🙂
And it’s not so bad when that means home cooked meals doused with Cholula, being in the comfort of your own gym, and sipping a great Pinot Noir. Have a great weekend!
yep, can’t complain. now, if only i had some of your pumpkin chili to go with my flow. haha
You guys have such GREAT attitudes. Glad you were able to change your plans and avoid the storm!
yep, and now we’re home drinking wine and watching TV. life is hard. LOL!
I’d say I’m a go with the flow person but I’m a planner by nature too 🙂
Have a FLOWing Friday xo
Mmmmm… Choula. And wine. That’s a great affordable Pinot!
I all about going with the flow. There’s so much craziness in my schedule that if I wasn’t laid back about it I’d go absolutely crazy.
Have a wonderful weekend!!!
true that! I think it’s a necessity if you travel that much.
I’m trying to be so much better about going with the flow. I have definitely improved over the past year and it sure makes life less stressful!
i know you have! and i LOOOOOOVE IT! woo! go with the flow taper time!
Unfortunately I’m not really a go with the flow person. But it’s something I’m seriously working on and am getting better at it. Have a great weekend!!
bahaha, thats okay. I bet your hubby is, right?
Indeed, he is. Just one more reason why I married him =)
thank God for our men, right?! haha
Two things:
1. I’m a hot sauce fiend and I just bought cholula. I like to vary my hot sauces for variety. Cholula and Sriracha are the best.
2. I bought a bottle of Pinot Noir Balsamic Vinegar last weekend and thought of you. It’s fantastic.
seriously, are you my twin?
Happy weekend!!
I am SO a go with the flow kind of person, I feel it is easier to live that way!
Have a beautiful weekend friend! <3
happy weekend friend! I know you are chill, that’s why i love you so! well, among the many other reasons!
I am most definitely a go with the flow person, which can irritate my husband at times, as he finds me too relaxed in certain situations 😉 Oh well!
I find it to be a handy trait when I am working in a restaurant kitchen…ya never know what’s going to happen.
Have a super weekend and enjoy it!
oh yes, you are needed then. To calm down the crazys! haha
I’m definitely a go with the flow person… Sometimes my family and friends wish I weren’t sooooo relaxed but most of the time it comes in handy!
hehe, i love it! maybe it’s a linz thing? okay, maybe not but it’s clever, eh?
