If you want the weeks to go by faster, just start blogging because then they will fly by and you will feel like you just posted a Friday Food post.. ..yet again. Ain’t that the truth though?
Shameless love grown foods plug right here, cause I’m feeling sassy and my giveaway ends Monday.
But really, here’s another Friday post. Hopefully one that is useful for you and some what entertaining.
Let’s begin, shall we?
I’m going to give you a run down of a few of my favorites. Some are gluten free, some are dairy free, and some are NON GMO (it’s national NON GMO month!).
Favorite Gluten Free Food and drink:
Love my PB Free Creamy Nuttzo and my Zevia (Lime Cola is the best). I love them so much I take them for walks so we can bond. Just kidding.. sorta.
Want to try Nuttzo? Use code COTTER15 at checkout for a 15% discount.
Then there’s crack chips. I mean kettle cooked Sweet potato chips. I love the salt and pepper and the kiwi likes the salt and vinegar. Dang, these are GOOD. Gluten free and duh… FOOD SHOULD TASTE GOOD!
My next “favorites” stash is for my niece. She’s recently had to go on a gluten free and dairy free diet, so I bought these goodies for her.
Udis Gluten Free Bagels (non gmo, GF, and dairy free) paired with Daiya Strawberry cream cheese. I like the daiya because it’s dairy free/casein free/soy free and made with coconut oil. Almond Breeze Chocolate Milk, Eat Pastry Vegan Cookie Dough, and Pamela’s Pancake Mix (GF but not dairy free).
Oh and let’s not forget these .. Healthy Bites, HER favorite. Vegan and made with love. hehe.
My new favorite Strange but Good Recipe was inspired by this month’s Bestowed Box, which just so happens to be focused on NON GMO foods. Um, yes, all are freaking delicious too!
I got hooked on the Enjoy Life Seed and Fruit mix and the The Good Bean Smokey Chili and Lime Chick peas. Needless to say, they were thoroughly enjoyed in my strange but good salad.
Don’t knock it till you try it. Spicy Chickpeas with a hint of lime, spring mix, carrots, and fruit and seed mix. Served with a balsamic vinaigrette. Also goes well with a mild soup, like butternut squash!
If are looking to try bestowed box, they are giving 50% off their first month of Bestowed ($10 instead of $19). bestowed.com/join with the coupon code HELLOTEN103 — good through 11/20.
Wow, didn’t even I had all these discount codes. Ha! Enjoy and take advantage.
What’s your favorite Gluten Free, Dairy Free, non GMO food come lately?
Cheers to race weekend!
LC (aka Sherpa Wife)
Hi Lindsay,
Is that Almond breeze an individual drink? I have been looking for the individual ones for my grandaughter who has to limit dairy. Thanks, Penny
yep! i found it at whole foods!
Thanks!
I am going to have to try Udi’s bagels. Life without bread is still too sad to think about.
by the plain if you really want a bagel taste! keep me posted!
Tell me about it and the weeks flying by. I swear, I can’t keep up!! Thanks for sharing these. Of course, HBs are my favorite food 🙂
I love the creamy original Nuttzo!! I’m SO SO sad that I was scraping out the last of it from my jar last night. So sad. Whomp whomp. But its the BEST!
Great ideas, I need to go gluten free more seriously. I know it causes trouble for me
Food Should Taste Good has kettle chips now?! Can’t wait to try them!
Hope the race went well!
I have an idea – I come over and we sit around gossiping while indulging in the cookie dough?? 🙂 🙂
now that is brilliant!
I haven’t tried that spread before but it sounds great! What a great Aunt to stock up your niece with goodies!
Lots of good ideas here. I love almond breeze milk. I tried gluten-free pizza crust last night and it was awful… I don’t need gluten free but it was the “healthy” option, lol.
oh no! which crust did you try? it’s always hit or miss
It was at a restaurant called The Rock. It seemed underbaked but maybe that’s just how gluten-free crust is!
My favorite gluten and dairy free food – SALMON OF COURSE 😉
we need to have a salmon party! ;p
There are SO many good food choices in this post! Thanks for sharing, friend! Makes me want to run out to the store and buy some for a crazy Friday night in… 😉
I LOVE “Food Should Taste Good” products and Costco sells them! I love the sweet potato ones and then they have a cracker version too, which are sturdy enough for guacamole dipping…just saying! XO
The Way Better Snacks are my nemesis right now…I can’t buy them unless I’m willing to accept the fact that the entire bag will be gone in literally hours. Super yum! Zevia and those chips = happy snacking 😉 Love Grown and Daiya are also on my standard fave list too. We just got Diaya’s GF/Vegan pizza (I actually cried in the health food store I was so excited…yes…it’s been that long since I’ve had a pre-made pizza option).
I used to eat Enjoy Life all the time, but haven’t lately – I need to try them again! Nutzo is AMAZING. I tried my first jar a couple weeks ago and am hooked!
Where do I apply to become your (niece) nephew?
I know I always harp on about it, but seriously, you guys have the BEST products- although there is a brand of gluten free bread which I am a huge fan of here- Purebred. Their chia seed loaf and raisin toast doesn’t fall apart or resemble a rock like other brands!
SO much deliciousness in this post!!! I would so raid your house if I lived there! 😉 Keep all those goodies locked up just in case! 😉
Crack chips – so funny – I wrote a post way back when about my crackerholic obsession when I was younger – no crackers in this house! 🙂
Now you have me thinking about healthy bites & a certain combo on IG – I must go back so I can see what I want to order UNLESS you make it for November.. 🙂
Loving all your favorites friend. Wish we could partake in them all together. Ha ha. Have a wonderful weekend!!!!!!!!
I like a lot of these products too. Yay for non-GMO foods! I am obsessed with the Simple and Crisps I discovered at the food blogging conference I attended last month. They are pricey but fabulous.
I LOVE zevia & food should taste good chips! Yummmm!
Healthy Bites are a favorite in this house too! As well as PB free Nuttzo and Udi’s. I am transitioning Norah to Gluten Free (it appears she has her mommy’s gut), and I’m so thankful for Udi’s right now. This girl loves her PB&J! (Or A&J…she’s a nut butter lover like her mommy too).
Good luck to the kiwi and his Sherpa this weekend xoxo
so i wouldn’t say it’s my favorite food but i just tried cream of rice for the first time this week and that ish is GOOD!
love you. thanks for being you.
Officially a Bestowed subscriber now, thanks to that delicious-looking photo you shared! Thanks for the discount codes as well! I’ve been looking for the best “box” to subscribe to, and I think this one might do the trick.
I’m pretty much addicted to Food Should Taste Good chips – have you ever tried the cheddar tortilla chips? They’re like really cheesy Doritos that aren’t terrible for you.
I love finding new products – thanks for sharing! I just wish we had a Whole Foods within 50 miles of me so I could actually partake in this products…guess that’s what the Bestowed box is for!
oh you will love it then Rachel! The box is “designed” by a registered dietitian, thats why i approve!
I looooove roasted chickpeas! I have a recipe for Indian spiced ones that i put on a salad with blue cheese and melon. OMG.
You have so much yummy GF stuff – I eat many of these and I am not even GF. 🙂
YUM! Wow – vegan cookie dough. Doesn’t get much better than that! Did you get that from Whole Foods? I’m going to the one up here to see if they have it!!
sure did! it’s a hit or miss though
i just posted about food should taste good chips too! love em! i didn’t realize they had a salt & vin flavor. yummmm. i have seen those black bean chips at tj maxx and i need them!!
tj maxx and marshalls have the best food finds! For reals!
I actually do have a favorite matching that description. Qia – Chia, Buckwheat, and Hemp Cereal. I am loving the Apple Cinnamon flavor. Its a little pricey but a small amount goes a long way.
I don’t eat GF or DF, but some of these eats sound/look amazing, even that strange but good salad! It’s great that there are so many options today for people w/ restrictions.
It’s amazing the gluten free, non gmo food varieties that are out there nowadays. I remember when my mother-in-law was told to stay away from gluten, probably about 8-10 years ago now, and it was so hard for her to find foods that fit that standard and actually taste good. I’m so happy that that’s changing and there is a better variety out there and they actually tasty delicious!
I love all those products! I haven’t tried Daiya yet but heard great things & haven’t tried Udis yet either lol so I’ll be trying that too ;-). As u know I don’t have to be GF or dairy free for my diet but I like incorporating them in anyways & if they are non-GMO even better. The US needs to do a better job at what we allow in our foods & feed our people. It affects people for their whole lives & you can’t live without foods so it should be the best for us. Thanks friend! 🙂
I Love that Bestowed Box so much! I’m always on the lookout for gluten and soy-free. That cream cheese sounds amazing.
I love Food Should Taste Good chips! And I had a gluten free Udis bagel with almond butter and banana before the Nike Women’s Marathon last Sunday, yummy! It powered me through the race and I had no tummy problems!
I do want to try Daya! I saw it just the other day 🙂
Lime Zevia isn’t available here yet! Glad you got some to enjoy hehe xo
So many yummy things – love nuttzo, I mean how could you not, and the Food Should Taste Good chips always make me happy. Wishing James lots of luck!
That salad looks delicious! I’ve seen those chickpeas before. I really need to order some. Thanks, Lindsay!
So many of my favorite things, especially Healthy Bites!! Have a great weekend! xo
I need to try that Daiya spread….I miss cream cheese! I also searched my Costco high & low to find the Udi’s bread you raved about awhile back! 🙂
I’m so loving Daiya lately. I don’t miss cheese really, but Daiya definitely adds a different dynamic to my flatbread that I’m really loving. I haven’t had those Good Beans since Blend! They are so good though. I need to get some more! So good on a salad!
Good luck this weekend to both of you! I will be thinking about the Cotters! xoxo
although i’m not gluten or dairy free, i still love all these brands! 🙂
I wish bestowed shipped to Canada! We never get the good stuff haha
I didn’t know Daiya made a dairy and soy free cream cheese! I need to check that out. (Your link, by the way, leads to a furniture styling company…interesting, but not what I was looking for ;-))
Have a great weekend!!
bahaha, whoopsies. I’ll fix that, thx
((oooh clicks and BESTOWS a BESTOWED BOX on an AUSTIN FRIEND!! thank you!))
I’m always amazed about the variety of special diet products you have in the US! Here the options are very limited. There are a few gluten-free bread products and pasta you can buy at stores, but mostly I rely on products that are naturally gluten-free and unprocessed.
The other day I tried gluten-free spaghetti made from maize, rice, and pea protein, but they somewhat dissolved during cooking and got quite slimy. 😀 The rice and buckwheat noodles I’ve made before a few times worked out much better, however I find rice noodles tend to become wobbly very easily. Things like bread and cereal I make at home because the gluten-free bread I can buy here usually contains soy protein and always apple extract and tastes rather strange.
while it’s we have so many GF products, i also think it can be bad because the US let’s food manufacturers get away with too much, meaning certain ingredients that shouldn’t be allowed. I try to research and do my best to eat the better quality but you are right, making things yourself is the best. Oh and any pasta made from corn always turns to mush, haha, agreed! been there. Missed ya friend. xxoo
