I have a feeling we need to feel good today, yes? And in order to do so I thought I’d share a few (okay more than a few) confessions that maybe you can relate to or maybe will make you feel better in comparison to myself.
Confession 1: Yes I am a personal trainer, but I loathe box jumps. I refuse to do them even though I’ve made clients do them in the past. EEK, shame on me!
Confession #2: As you know, I also teach fitness classes. Well, sometimes I fake it till I make it, or in this case barely make it. This was me post class Wednesday. Shhhh, don’t tell my class I almost didn’t survive.
Confession #3: I always blame Kiwi cotter (aka the hubs) when we run out of vegemite and marmite, but in actuality, I hog it!
Confession #4: I have 2 books on my nightstand that have been sitting there for 2 months. I am on page one. I think that top book is mocking me.
Confession #5: I’m a drink snob. I’ll pay more for the good ones too, especially if they leave you with a clever jingle in your head. Cha Cha Cha Chia!!! drinkchianow.com
Confession #6: We didn’t buy a Christmas tree this year. After moving several times, we just decided to give our old one to good will. Once we’re settled somewhere for good we’ll buy one and keep it. I’m sad but I’m also not sad since I don’t have to worry about putting away decorations this year. I’ll count this as my Christmas tree for now. At least the clean up is more fun!
Confession:#7 Ahh yes, my strange but good combos for Laura’s link up. My confession here is that these actually aren’t that strange to me. I think I need to work harder next week.
GF peanutbutter cookies for a s’more base on the left. Udi’s Gluten Free toast with a cashew butter and plain yogurt kefir spread. Then dried cherry and ginger on top.
I know I’ve got plenty more but I’ll save those for another Friday. Believe you me, there will be more!
What’s your Friday Confession?
Cheers!
LC
I’m definitely with you on the box jumps…but I hate burpees even more! That is just cruel and unusual punishment! Lol
Love the PB cookie s’mores! And I really need to remember to do more sweet combos with my cashew butter…I always think savory!
My confession: You just reminded me that I have a tube of Vegemite in my cabinet that hasn’t been used in MONTHS! What’s wrong with me?!!?
Sometimes I do much better with reading but right now, it isn’t happening!
ditto! LOL!
Ha! I hate box jumps! And burpees! and am thankful I don’t have to do them 😉 I used to HATE planks, and now I love them but ONLY when I am teaching them and doing them not when I am in a class and doing them. I get so angry. No idea why LOL. My confession 😉
I despise box jumps too. We had to do them in college and that’s the last time I did them and will do them. I feel the same way about hang cleans, jerks, or anything that involves that sort of movement. LOL I still owe you a phone call. I’m SORRY! XOXO
i knew you would agree! and no rush on the phone call, you know i’m here.
<3
Oh my gosh you crack me up! I knew that’s what my instructors do at the gym! 🙂
guilty!
Love your tree! Ours is dropping pine needless all over the floor if that makes you miss a “real” tree less. As for the books–me too. I’ve been on chapter 1 of a Joyce Meyer book for, um, at least a year. Even worse: it’s a book I borrowed from a friend.
haha, yes it does. I hate cleaning that stuff up. And i love joyce meyer! let me know how the book is… whenever you read it. teehee
I love your Christmas tree so much!! Awesome 🙂
i like my christmas trees like gingerbread houses….edible. 😉
Love this! I actually don’t mind box jumps! I have 2 books waiting on me too!
youre so strong! i need your mental strength!
I was in crossfit for about 3 weeks before I blew my shoulder out a year ago. I am so awkward and clumsy they actually asked me to stop doing the box jumps and just step up because I was flying off in all directions, crashing to the ground, and generally bruised like a peach.
ha, thats me. No coordination. let’s just say we’re better at running, yes? p.s. did you get your tasty treats???
I love your confessions. I’m the same with my classes that I teach. Don’t tell my students, but some of the stuff I make them do I would hate myself for. I know its good for them though, which is why do it, but….yeah. Like the box jumps. Hehe.
but you make it up to them with cookies, right?
I confess to having done ZERO Christmas shopping – and I wouldn’t have it any other way! 🙂
my confession? oh boy who is gonna read this? okay i will play it safe…..today i ate 3 cookies for breakfast, then 3 healthy bites (you know to counter the bad cookies!), ate my healthy lunch that I borught from home and then proceeded to eat the mexican feast we had delivered for our staff lunch and then another cookie! yup……doing good on the food fron today 🙂
i just drank detox tea while eating chocolate and sugar. That evens out too, right? LOL!
Box jumps ARE tough! I rarely ever do them because they just make me so sore!! I love your vegemite/marmite confession LOL!
SO I’ve never tried Vegemite or Marmite… am I missing out? It eyes me from the shelves sometimes, but I have yet to pick up a jar of my own. My confession? I had the day off, and instead of doing useful things like answering e-mails or cleaning the house, I spent far too much time playing video games 😯 Closet geek, right here…
Those combos sound good to me too! I think as bloggers, we just have weird taste buds hah. I actually don’t mind box jumps, lunge jumps on the other hand are evil to me!
I am envious that you do not have to put away a tree! I want an edible tree next year.
My confession is that I just wrote, what I would consider an edgy post (for me) that I will publish sometime in the near future. It feels right, but I know I will make a few uncomfortable and it’s not in personality to do that, but that’s the whole point. Have a happy weekend gorgeous!
well now i am dying to know! i bet it is a great heart to heart post!
I legitimately cannot do box jumps. 1) I can’t jump to save my life, but 2) it’s really mental. I just can’t do it! I’ve had several personal trainers laugh at me…
TOTALLY RELATE!
is it bad that I use the boxes for step-ups? haha I hate jumping too
nope! i do that too!
i confess to nearly falling asleep in the middle of a meeting today. my mind is full on holiday mode! only a couple more hours to go! happy weekend!
i totally would do that. HOLIDAY MODE!
We just have a baby fake tree right now. Once we have a house I can’t wait to get a nice big real one!! Just don’t have the room for it now. Coming from Wisconsin, a fake tree is close to sin.
Wahh don’t worry, I don’t have a Christmas tree this year in my apartment either 🙁 But I’m glad I’m going to my parents’ for the three days to celebrate and they have it up. Otherwise it’d be very sad for me, sigh. I’m not really in the spirit this year, it’s lame.
box jumps and I are not friends. I can be pushed to do almost anything else. they just are not my thing.
we don’t have a tree either. no storage and afraid the cats will kill themselves or likely me while I try to take a picture and they knock it over 🙂
oh good, i’m not alone!
For the record, I don’t think I could do box jumps either 🙂 And I am with you on the book thing! I usually end up reading two at a time (as I’m doing now) and taking forever to finish either one. Ugh…I sense a New Year’s resolution…
Box jumps TERRIFY me.
Love it. 🙂 I ate a candy bar for breakfast this morning…..hows that for a confession? hehe
good! holiday must!
My “strange” combos never seem strange to me either. But that’s because we’re both exceptional! 🙂
Hah!
The top book…yes yes you KNOW it’s there to remind you (and convict) but alas…the time will come.
And I hope none of your PT clients are reading….this will give them good ammo to get out of those jumps.
Happy weekend!
it totally is convicting me.. God, He’s so blunt. Praise HIM!
Ha, I sometimes have to fake it till I make it in class too — usually happens when I teach a back-to-back double, I’m about ready to keel over halfway through the second class but have to dig deep to keep that game face ON until the cool down. And then I can collapse 😉 hehe
hahahaha I love that you hate box jumps but make other people do them! I have box jump fear but once I start I don’t hate them as much – I HATE switch jump lunges so I refuse (aka can’t do them) to do them if I’m ‘told to’ in some workout
Confession: Box jump torture is my favorite 🙂 hehe
ahh you cray cray!
Haha I love the post workout face plant. 😉 I have about 5 books on my nightstand that have yet to be read… oops.
I have two books on my nightstand too…hardly touched. And I could benefit greatly from them.
My other confession, I’m going to bake many more cookies today. And I’m not sorry about it. 😉
Fun post. Love that you hate box jumps but will make a client do them (evil evil LOL). My confession…I only make the bed if company will be over.
I’m right there with you on most of these. I’m a terrible drink snob – from wine to kombucha to water!
Thanks for linking up! I don’t know of it’s strange but that s’mores creation looks beyond good!
AWESOME post my love <3 <3 <3 <3 confession five actually made me burst out laughing lol anddddd I hate box jumps too. I will be at the gym and roll my eyes at the people doing them. I did them this summer millions of times and felt so B.A. doing them, but really – I HATE THEM. Never again. Just heavy weights now 🙂
My confession for today is I am a major grump right now and I can't get out of this funk lol I think I will put Christmas music on and get a pretty jingle in MY head 😉
Love you
Meg
I like the idea of the kefir and cashew butter combo…sounds tasty!
Love the first confession. I loathe box jumps as well, and refuse to do them. My confession: I’m currently “faking it till I make it” teaching senior high school students calculus today. All I want is for the day to be over. I couldn’t care less about calculus right now–I’m ready for Winter Break!!!!!!!! Yipee! Almost there. 🙂
I love your confessions Lindsay!! Especially your post-class pictures. I really don’t like box jumps or squat jumps or any kind of jumps really. Have a wonderful holiday my friend!
I haaaate box jumps! Right up there with burpees for me! But a girls gotta do what works 🙂
i like burpees, confession!
nothing is weird with cashew butter! i love the stuff! i’ve never had marmite or vegemite!
I too have a couple of books that have been staring at me for far too long!
Ha, that face plant picture is amazing – I’ve always wondered how instructors just keep going going GOING class after class! Apparently the super-humans get tired, too? 😉 xoxo
Happy Friday!
Friday Confession…..
Can’t wait for Mike to get off work today, Anthony off school, then the christmas break starts! I am so excited!
Happy Friday! <3
I would totally take that fruit tree over a real tree!! Love your confessions. Who actually like box jumps anyway? They are killlller. I would take those over burpee’s though 😀
I confess that I too loathe box jumps. Really hate ’em. Also, I confess that I have a super decadent dessert recipe that I plan to make tomorrow, and NO – I don’t feel the least bit guilty about it.
I don’t have any Christmas decorations this year either – I don’t know if I ever will (until I have a family) either. It’s just me, and I’m so rarely home. Seems like a waste of money!
Box jumps…ugggh
Totally don’t blame you about the Christmas tree.
Love the little cheese and veggie tree tho 🙂
Happy Friday friend!
i too loathe box jumps. come visit me and we’ll NOT do them together. 🙂 love you!
Oh I love this idea. Ok, first I’m so glad to hear that exercise instructors also find their classes VERY hard, and it’s not as easy as they make it out to be!
Here are my two confessions; I’m also a drink snob, but my drink of choice is beer. Muahaha
Also, we do have a tree, but it’s fake, and it has been for three years. SO BAD! I hate fake trees.
Yea both those combos sound good and not weird to me. And you’re so right that I could have used a feel good fun post this morning. thanks for the uplift. 🙂
