Most of you should know me by now. You know that I’m not very fashionable. The Cotter’s try to go for the sporty, relaxed, and comfortable look. That’s what happens when you work from home, at a gym, and/or train all day. Heck you’re lucky if I wash my hair once a week thanks to dry shampoo and head bands.
Our so called fashion? Well, it’s pretty much this.
Do you see the trend? Cycling clothes, crazy hair, and stretchy pants.
But when I post about fashion, it’s with a purpose. Meaning I’m going to talk about it (and wear it) because …
- it’s cute to me.
- it’s purposeful.
- it’s comfortable.
That’s where pluggz shoes come in. Stay with me here, I’m about to get all SCIENCE GEEK on YOU> Katie will like this.
*I was compensated by Pluggz for this review and giveaway. Please know I am always honest about my reviews and all opinions are of course my own. So thank you for reading.
The “Grounding” Effect –
Quoted from their website
What pluggz do…
Pluggz are grounding shoes; also called earthing shoes. What they do is very simple. Every pair naturally reconnects you to the abundance of the earth’s free energy that lies right beneath your feet. This happens when you walk directly on the ground – whether it is grass, soil, sand, gravel, stone, unsealed tiles, brick… and for all you city dwellers, happily concrete sidewalks, too. So, you can easily get grounded every day without having to go barefoot, regardless of where you live geographically or what season is upon you.
There is also a great deal of substantiating research behind the beneficial effects of grounding and earthing. Science has shown that we have too many free radicals floating around in our bodies and these can cause discomfort, pain, inflammation, listlessness and wreak all other sorts of havoc on our systems. Most of us are deficient in electrons as a result of modern living and the 24/7 times. When electrons are restored to your body, reports are this can make you feel more balanced, revitalized, less stressed – dare we say even happier, often contributing to a positive outlook. Becoming more electron nourished helps to neutralize the harmful free radicals and aids in healing from the inside out. Fortunately for humanity, the earth has an inexhaustible amount of electrons stored inside its vault. All we have to do is connect and make direct contact with the earth. This is what pluggz enables you to do – and fashionably so.

Not gonna lie, I was pretty skeptical on the “earthing” thing, but I just had to give them a whirl.
Science meets comfort and fashion—> that’s so ME!
I tried. I walked. I skipped. I “fashioned.”
Going for the sporty look here. As always. I look like I need to be holding a smoothie or an kombucha, don’t I?
I liked. But more importantly, my feet liked them. For someone who has big feet, long toes, small heels, and high arches, that says a lot. No blisters, very light feeling, great support for my back while standing, walking, etc.
And of course, I chose the green loafers which really made me feel like I was walking on grass or GROUND (pun intended).
I will definitely be wearing pluggz more and I can’t wait to try them out while traveling. I think they just might be LIFESAVERS (or FEET savers) while scurrying around the airport, terminal, and security line.
What’s your go to Comfort shoe? Have you heard of the “grounding effect?
Cheers to Fashion Friday,
Stylin Sherpa (LC)
Nice pair of shoes.. The color is so vibrant! I am looking for this kind of shoes for my wife too 🙂 Nice post and Thanks
hope she likes them!
Don’t know about the “grounding” thing, but, the shoes look great. I’m in search of a great pair of comfy shoes for my trip to Vegas very soon. I’ll have to hunt for some of these when I’m in the US. Thanks for the info!
I’ve never heard of the grounding effect, but it is definitely interesting. Since I’m on my feet all day (I’m a teacher), I’m always looking for new, comfy shoes!
I’m usually casual sporty! Anything that is comfortable
Never heard of the grounding effect before, but definitely interesting!
my style varies, but I much prefer the comfy/sporty look!
As for the grounding effect… i’ve never even heard of it or the research behind it until I came across your blog post. It is super interesting and I like the way they think. I can understand the whole electron deficients with modern day living. Definitely going to look out for more information on this topic!
My style is definitely girly but leaning toward the comfort side as well. I love a fun shoe but if they aren’t comfy it’s a deal breaker!
As for the grounding effect…well I’m not sure. I’d be willing to give it a try. But I work as a scientist so I am a bit skeptical. All I know for certain, those green loafers are ridiculously cute!
My style is probably a mix of all three. Some days I really like to up my game and wear fashionable girly pieces, but a majority of the time I dress for comfort because I’m walking/commuting to the city for work then heading to the gym after.
I think the grounding effect sounds truly wonderful.
I love a cute flat that’s comfy!
My look? Does “PhD Student who has no true sense of style, wishes she were a hippie AND an uber-prep and hates heels but loves cowboy boots and can occasionally be mistaken for a 5th grader” count?
I totally believe in the grounding effect! Sounds so hippy dippy but the more research I do on it, the more I believe in it. Hoping to win some Plugzz so I can test the theory myself!
I’m a comfort girl all the way around!
cute, purposeful & comfortable.
A winning combination.
One most of use are still working on.
I’d never heard about the grounding effect, sounds a bit far-fetched but I would love to try the shoes out.
My style is mostly comfortable and a little bit sporty especially on weekends.. Girly days happen 1-2 times a week depending on the weather!
During the week, my style is career woman chic. Which means skirts, heels and sometimes even suits. The second I walk in the door of my house, I immediately change into workout casual style (capris and tshirts). Weekends are more workout attire, with date night and church “dressy casual” thrown in.
I am all about comfy 🙂
Im not sure of the grounding effect. Im a little skeptical.
Im all about comfy…but I have days where I want to dress up!
It’s all about comfort for me, and with that goes casual. These “ground effect” shoes sound (and look) wonderful!
I think the grounding effect would be amazing to try!
Simple & comfortable is what I’m all about!
My look changes all the time! Mostly comfy with a mix of either sporty, or professional or casual/bohemian 🙂 I love that I could wear these shoes while teaching all day!
I’ve never heard about the grounding effect but I would love to try the shoes out.
No matter what I wear it has to be comfortable!
I would say sporty (running shoes) or comfy. I have never heard of these, but they sound great.
Comfy is key! I prefer dresses/skirts over pants for work and stretchy pants on the weekend 🙂
I don’t know if I buy into the grounding effect but these are really cute shoes.
I’m a bit skeptical of the grounding effect, but I would be willing to give it a chance. You never know if something works unless you try it, right?
My look at home is definitely comfy.
My style is mixed – vintage and new. There was a time when I was complete throwback and refused to wear anything that wasn’t made between 1950 to 1980.
I am all about comfort when I am at home and dresses when I go out or to work or church….ain’t no pants in my stance right now
I am a firm believer in the grounding effect…I am doing an electromagnetic therapy that involves electrons and whoa
I wear comfortable stuff.
the grounding effect — it’s intriguing, although I’ll admit that I’m not 100% sold that it really is doing what it supposedly is doing.
Definitely girly!
I think the grounding effect looks really interesting and my feet would love to try 😉 fingers crossed! Thanks for the chance to win!
I think I’m girly 🙂
first time i heard about grounding and it sounds interesting.. but like you, i am a bit skeptical about it..
my look definitely leans towards sporty since i practically live in comfy gym clothes!
I love fitness clothes so I would say sporty or comfy, never trendy or fancy, but these are really cute.
My day look is girly but my night look is comfy but sporty 😉
my running shoes or my cycling shoes are my comfort shoes 😉 there are other types of shoes?? 😉 hehe those are pretty neat, but I’d have to wait until summer returns to be able to wear shoes like that!
The grounding effect really has me intrigued! I love how there is some science to back it up. I may have to look at investing in a pair even if I don’t with the giveaway! 🙂
I usually strive for comfort! Every once in a while I change it up, but I’d rather just be comfortable 🙂
Always looking for a new comfy shoe since I am a willPower & grace girl I love to be barefoot….
Something where I can chase two little ones around all day in is my style 🙂
My look trends more towards weekend casual class. We live in an area where I feel like I need to be a little more put together than my west coast sensibility would otherwise gravitate towards! So I am constantly on the hunt for chic, comfortable items that can be dressed up or down.
As to the grounding, not sure if these shoes will help, but for me, being ‘grounded’ is more about where I am in my own head and life. So if they help towards that, even better!
My comfy is definitely leggings, UGGS and a sweater. However, most my day is spent in workout clothes 🙂
Will “grounding” help the arthritis in my big toe joints?
Well, my look is not girly, I just dress to stay warm here in Montana.
I have to say that my new style is comfort no more high heels for me I’m DONE!
I am excited to try the grounding effect I think its a wonderful idea.
I didn’t see my post – so I’m doing it again so I can make sure I’m entered (love these shoes.)
I think earthing is great but end up with ant bites every time I try it. So these shoes are a great idea! I usually wear flip flops or barefoot shoes – my feet would look much better in these 🙂
You said all the right things about the way these shoes made your feet feel. I’d love to try those!
Not sure what to think about the grounding effect, but these do look super comfy!
My style is mostly comfortable and a little bit sporty thrown in there. Girly days happen 1-2 times a week 😉
I hope they have widths if I win! 🙂 If not I will pass on to someone else… but I am all about comfort! 🙂
My look is comfortable but classic. No high heels but not a lot of sneakers either.
I’m all comfy/ sporty! I would live in yoga pants if I could!
I think the grounding effect is interesting … in theory.
Sporty!
Not sure I believe the grounding effect 🙂
My look is girly!
These are sooo cute!!! Thx for the review and giveaway!
I don’t know that I believe in the grounding effect, but they look comfortable!
Casual, but I try to look put together.
Ahh I’m all about the comfy sporty style too… if I wear skinny jeans with a cute top&boots, that’s “looking nice”! Haha! But the shoes look awesome. ..I have high arches, &would totally chill in these
My look is 100% comfortable. When we go out with friends or on a date, I do look nice, but as soon as we get home I put on my comfy clothes 🙂
I go for comfort and sporty. Most of the time I reach for sandals.
Perhaps the reason I am manless is because I like to wear four hoodies and sweatpants everywhere I go? (oh and cannot forget my addidas sandals) Guys cannot tell if I am a dude or a chick, so they don’t even bother.
You’re lucky to have found not just your soul mate, but your clothes mate too! 😉
dead sexy!
I totally feel you on fashion equalling stretchy pants. But it’s always nice to get a little fancy. I absolutely adore these shoes and have been looking for something similar. I definitely go for the comfy/cute look so these would be a perfect addition to my shoe closet packed full of gym shoes.
I am intrigued by the grounding effect. Love to look into it more.
I am all about the comfy look.
I’d say my shoe style is girly but comfort is always good too. I think the grounding effect would be something you’s have to try to believe.
i think the grounding effect is a really interesting idea! i think it’s one of those things you have to experience to fully believe in, though…and i would definitely love to try it!
i think my style is comfy/casual…though i do love athletic clothes 🙂
I like the idea of the “grounding effect” I think I would definitely benefit from that 🙂
I think my look is for comfort half the time and sporty the other half with girly always thrown in!
I think the grounding effect is worth a try! I’m all for trying everything once, I started acupuncture a few weeks ago and love it!
Hmmm probably comfy and girly
I have an edgy style.
I could certainly use some grounding!
I’m definitely girl-casual!
When I’m not at work, I’m sporty comfort all the way.
is grounding that thing that i do at the end of a run where i fall on the ground and don’t move? 🙂
i try to look sporty, but i think i end up more “grunge” most days. lol
Love the idea of grounding! I’m
Barefoot 100% of tr time when indoors, as well as when there’s grass or sand involved, but don’t do it on streets or sidewalk so I don’t get my feet dirty or step on something sharp.
In more comfort meets sporty, which sometimes looks like schlumpy.
I’ve never heard the grounding effect (except in yoga!). I would live in flip flops or barefoot if I could. These sound like heaven!
I like to mix up my look. Some days I’m all out girly, super dressed up with cute makeup and accessories. Most days I’m lazy and look comfortable and sporty.
I’m a comfy/sporty combo. Or at least I am in head. I probably come across closer to “hot mess” though.
and pshaw. You are STYLIN.
I’m not so sure about the earthing thing. It’s a little too out there co me 🙂
I’ve definitely turned more into a comfort/sporty girl. I’m a baker on my feet all day, so anything that feels good is a winner to me!
I’ve never even heard of this brand/company, but I’m very intrigued about them after reading this post. The grounding effect is very interesting!
I’m a mix…just depending on the day and what I’m feeling. Sometimes it’s casual, sometimes it’s sporty/athletic, sometimes it’s dressy/girly, etc. I would say I’m a good mix of classy and preppy when it comes down to it though.
Haven’t heard of the grounding effect before, although it sounds super cool! I’d love to try it out myself and could use a good pair of nice shoes, as I’m constantly on my feet when teaching
I’m a sporty kind of person for sure, for better or for worse. Usually because sneakers are just so comfortable 🙂
I’m for sure a girly-girl. Pink, polka dots, sparkly stripes are some of my favorite things!
I wear crocs all day long for work so definitely comfy shoes are a must!!
I’d never heard of the grounding effect before, and so I would be interested to try these shoes to see if the grounding effect is noticeable at first.
While I love the comfy look, I am totally the sporty look…I like them both just depending on my mood
The grounding effect?? Well, I stay barefoot and have even done some running barefoot….it’s great if you find smooth grass or pavement.
my look is kind of sporty…kind of tough chick!
total comfort, you will not catch this girl in heels. haha.
as much as i love my Toms i think i would love these as well! so cute!
I am definitely a comfy style girl. I tried being someone who dressed up and looked “sexy” or “pretty”, but I just felt as if I was trying too hard and was always uncomfortable. I just like a good pair of jeans or yoga pants, and a cozy shirt. I dress up for work when I need to or to go sometimes, but I still need to be comfortable!
Pluggz! I need to get a pair!
You had me at no blisters. I soooo hate it when you get yourself a new pair of shoes and all you get from them are blisters. Blasted. lol
I definitely go for comfy first.. Toms are my best friend 😉
I’m not sure what I think about the grounding effect. It would be interesting to try out and see if I notice any difference.
These days I’m pretty much the total causal look – probably even a step down from that – yoga pants and long fleece tops – it’s cold and I need to be warm and comfortable!!
I would love to try these Pluggz. My comfort shoes are Danskos. I work in a hospital and could definitely use more grounding! I’ve heard of the grounding effect but not of the shoes.
Sadly I don’t think I have much of a look – I gravitate toward comfortable things – long sweaters and leggings this winter and riding boots. I would love to try pluggz
I’d say sporty style, but unfortunately they don’t have a lot of men’s choices. Digging the graphite flip-flops though 🙂
haha this is true. At least you can wear the flip flops!
I love the idea of grounding. I walk around barefoot a lot, but I can’t do that in the winter, these would be wonderful for me!
I am definitely comfy sporty. Although I am not looking forward to next year. The moms in suburbia are all about looking good during pre-school drop off/pick-up, yikes.
So cute, I am all about comfort and casual…
The grounding effect sounds COMFY! And I usually ALWAYS wear sneakers or flats BUT some flats aren’t comfy at all! heels are almost a no go for me unelss they’re wedges
My style is definitely comfy (hello sweatpants and workout clothes!). If I’m not dressed that way though I’d much rather be all “done up” in a dress and everything – jeans and that ‘in between’ style is not my thing!
These shoes look amazing!! For the most part, I dress girly I suppose, but I really like dressing comfortably and sporty too!
I love your band around your head. You look beautiful but simple. What brand is it? Anyway, I am a comfy person but try to be cool and modern looking. Not sure about grounded shoes but I love to walk on the grass in the summer. They are cool but comfy looking!
I am into comfort over everything else. Why spend the day being uncomfortable? And comfy clothes can be so cute! I really like the idea of grounding. Would love to try them!
The grounding effect sounds pretty damn cool. I’ve been eying these shoes for a little while!
My style? Definitely more sporty these days!
Ahhh these look amazingly comfortable. I’m always looking for comfortable work shoes, and I love the color varieties!
I either wear TOMS or gym shoes. Or lately a lot of boots. But all are usually worn with stretchy pants. I’m waiting for the day I become known as the girl who goes to a lot of shows by trying to dress up her yoga pants. 😉
oh i love my toms!
I absolutely believe in grounding… I would love to test this out! I know that you should be spending time each day barefoot in nature, but it’s FAR too cold to do that here… these shoes would be perfect! Anything to be more balanced and reduce stress, I’m in!
I am SO intrigued by these shoes!! I desperately need comfy/somewhat dressy shoes for work that aren’t loud… it’s so quiet here I feel like I’m disturbing people with my heels 😉
if I win, you can send them to my mom in AZ for me, yes?!! (please say yes!)
of course!!!
I am 100% a comfy girl. I try on the weekends or for date nights to look nicer, but typically I always go for what is easy and comfortable.
I have no time for fashion these days as a new mommy! So comfortable abs stylish shoes would be perfect for me!
i’m all about comfort! =)
i haven’t heard of the grounding effect before, but it sounds very interesting!
Not sure about the grounding effect….but I’m definitely going to read up on it!
I am a sporty/comfy girl too.
Those are super cute. I lean toward comfy shoes, but also have to have a little style to wear them to work.
my look is comfortably girly xx
haha your fashion is just like ours – messy hair and yoga pants all day everyday 😉
love comfy and fashion all in one!
Definitely go for the sporty/comfort look whenever I can! If I could wear running shorts and shoes to work, I totally would! I wear leggings as much as I can…my goal is basically to feel like I’m in pajamas 🙂 haha.
And as for the grounding effect, I’m definitely not all about running around barefoot; however, I believe letting your foot work in its natural state can only be healthy and better for your feet, so I’m really curious about these shoes! Would love to win a pair!
Those shoes are too cute!! My look is definitely a mix between comfy/girly!
I also just learned about the importance of grounding one’s self from my boyfriend’s roommate. I think these shoes could be pretty cool to try out!
I am allllllll about the comfort!! 🙂
i’m comfy, sporty spice.
My look is different based on the day. I love the sporty look, but I have to be put together for work, and I enjoy looking girly if I’m hanging out with friends!
I’m without a doubt a sporty girl – sporty & comfy, but working on making it more fun and feminine too. I don’t even know how to label that… 😉
I know I can’t enter but these sound great! And I am definitely working on my fashion thanks to my sister 🙂 ps. she is guest posting on ze blog today if you need some style advice hehe
oh i am off to check it out! and if you win, i’ll ship these to you! <3
Oh my gosh you are too sweet!
The grounding effect, I am intrigued. My problem with flats is that my arches and my feet usually end up hurting by the end of the day due to lack of support, so I definitely want to try these out!
My look? A combo, but mostly sporty and comfy as I run between work and the gym for training… And a little mix of girly when I have to dress up for work!
I had never heard of the grounding effect but it’s a smart idea
My look is definitely comfy, but stylish
I love Sporty and I’m definitely in need of more gounding. 🙂
I’d say my look is all about comfort!
comfy/girly. I like dressing up on occasion but I definitely like being comfy the majority of the time!
definitely sporty here 🙂
The grounding effect is fascinating!!
You are the first to introduce me to the ‘grounding effect’. Seems like a good idea and comfy shoes.
Pretty girly!
Comfort for the week and dress-up/girly look on the weekend.
THOSE shoes are adorable! Our fashion sense is so in sync:) I must get some.
My look is sporty and comfy, I wear workout clothes a lot- crops and leggings and when I change out of actual workout clothes I put on the same type of bottoms with a vineyard vines shep shirt or school “spirit jersey” or some other loose blouse or sweatshirt
My favorite shoes are Reef flip flops, but I love loafers too. Really, anything comfy is my favorite. 🙂
These shoes are sooooo cute! They would be perfect for work, cause I’m all about comfort since I’m on my feet a lot of the time. The “earthing” concept sound interesting and if it truly worked then I would probably buy a pair to wear every day!
The grounding affect is a cool concept and goes right along with my way of thinking.
I’m a comfy sporty kind of girl. if it were up to me I would live in yoga pants or jeans.
Definitely comfort!! Looks like they really help get you moving more and being comfortable at the same time.
My look, probably outdoorsy. I usually, in winter, have on ankle high, small heel boots. Summer, it’s Birkenstocks.
my “look” is definitely casual (especially at work), but i suppose itz a mix of sporty too! and i’m not sure about the grounding effect – i know i like the philosophy behind it, for sure!
Those are adorable! I can’t be in on the giveaway, but thanks for introducing these to me. I have to dress up for work every day (blech) but only wear flats. I think a pair of these would be a cute new addition to my wardrobe!
if you enter, I’ll ship them to you somewhere in CA when you travel. 😉
I’m definitely with you on the sporty and casual! It takes a lot for me to get dressed up, since I rarely have reason to. I’d take comfort any day. Cute shoes, I’ve never heard of them!
I think the the grounding effect is really awesome, I dig it!
I am sporty-comfy, sometimes girly too because I like to be matchy and wear sparkles 😉
i really like my pluggz! and they come in so many fun colors!!
I want, I want, I want! For so many reasons–totally my style (sporty) and also, I’m all about shoes that ground you. All I wear!
i am so curious to see what you think as well!
& Yes I believe in the grounding effect! 😀
Comfort all the way… Gym in the morning & SAMH for the rest of the day 😉 P.s. you should probably do a future post on dry shampoo hehe…Since I’ve never tried it & my hair get’s rather dry from all the washings!
I have not heard of the grounding effect, but I do love those shoes! Luckily as I am a coach, I am allowed to wear running shoes around….just not the ones I run with as that is bad for them! We have custom La Salle Kinvaras that I wear for coaching 🙂 I also know what you mean about fashion, you look cute, I look like a mess…every single day! I would love to win a pair though 🙂
I have a pair of them and I LOVE THEM. They’re so freaking comfortable! I have the leather flats and I wear them to work all the time!
And as for the grounding effect? Sure why not?! I believe in the moon’s pull, earth’s gravity.
i’m curious to see what you think about them!
My style is starting to be more comfy … sort of. I still dress up most days 😉
My go-to comfort shoes are a side-lined pair of running shoes or my beloved sandals (which in Michigan, I cannot wear right now).
Love these! They look cute and comfy!
You still look cute no matter how you are dressed. It’s all in the personality 😉 I’ve started wearing more ballet flats after battle with PF for years. I miss my heels, but at least I can walk fast enough to keep up with my tall hubby!
I am definitely a relaxed comfort style! But I do love to get dressed up too!
Girly or sporty are my preferred styles.
P.E. teacher, runner, triathlete, team sports player = always chooses comfort. I’m constantly asked if I just worked out, since I’m always in gym clothes. However, I LOVE LOVE LOVE dressing up when I can (and when I’m sure that it’s appropriate to actually make the effort, lol). These look super comfy AND fashionable, so that’s a huge thumbs up, missy!
There is NO way you have bigger feet than me. Not to be all competitive but just sayin’ I don’t have a comfort shoe so I am interested in trying these! Our style is the same way. Hanging out in sweaty spandex shorts is fun…until it’s not if you know what I mean. Also, the no hair washing, you already have a critical competency of motherhood 🙂
definitely comfort and probably sporty.
Ok so back to the kindergarten thing…I think it may help me being grounded to really enjoy the smart little people who are closer to the ground and more in tune with the “real” world!
Not sure what I think of it. Guess I will have to reserve judgment until I try it.
COMFY!!!! I’m a kindergarten teacher and I do like to look fashionable but comfy always trumps fashion for me!
Definitely comfort.
Stylish AND comfy? Best combination, in my book.
My look is pretty put together for work days, and super sporty when I get home and on the weekends.
The “earthing” concept is pretty crazy. It’s easy enough to make claims like they do, but I’m intrigued in seeing how it works for myself.
