Yesterday marked the first day of Fall, and unfortunately, Texas has yet to get the memo. It’s humid and 90F. Hey, that’s better than 100F. Fall likes to creep it’s way into our state. Slowly but surely.
Luckily for us, we had the chance to ease on into “Fall-ish” weather a few weeks ago in Colorado.
And I have to admit, that fresh mountain air gave the me a bit of my running mojo back. I was hardly running at all during the Texas summer. Too hot, and too much going on. I didn’t want to overload my body, nor did I feel like getting up at the crack of dawn to run at “cooler” temps. But Colorado.. oh my. It brought back my much needed appreciation of running and just being outdoors. Each day I stepped outside for an easy run or a leisurely hike, and each morning the weather seemed to get a little cooler, as if mother nature was truly helping me EASE on into Fall running and Fall weather.
Maybe it was the new adidas running gear, maybe it was the amazing weather, maybe it was because I was taking a break from teaching at the gym. Whatever the reason, I’m excited to FEEL excited about running again…. not set amount, just EASING on in when time allows.
That being said, here are a few of my FAVORITE FALL running gear to help you transition into cooler Fall temps!
1. Adizero Climaproof Jacket – oh I love this light weight jacket. It’s slim-fit and keeps you dry on the road or trail with climaproof® rain and a wind-resistant front panel. I also found it great as a wind jacket. Cool found feature –> pocket in the back that zips!
2. Supernova Long Tights and marathon T cooler shorts. – Yes, I got pants and shorts. Because this weather here is SOOO unpredictable. I figured I better go with both just in case.
- The tights are actually great to layer under shorts as well, or wear as just pants for extra insulation. Made with he breathable ventilated climacool® fabric so you don’t overheat but still stay warm.
- The shorts are of course great to wear over the tights or by themselves. Very breathable Climalite material and have a comfortable liner.
- I ordered XS in both shorts and tights and they are true to size.
3. Stella McCartney ¾ in tights –These ¾ are amazing! I feel pretty darn stylish too. They fit like a glove (I ordered XS). The pants have a ribbed waistband and curved cutlines that really give you that body-hugging fit. The sides are lined with an open mesh to keep you dry as well.
4. Last but not least, the new ENERGY BOOSTS 2.0 ESM (7.9 ounces) – I was actually shocked by these. Big difference (to me) in the first pair of energy boosts I received versus this pair. The color, for one, is amazing! Love the mint blue. But the feel is even more breathable due to the ESM (engineered stretched Mesh) and fts more like a sock, if that makes sense.
I’ve always loved the spring I get with these shoes, most likely from the innovative boost™ design. This type of design helps return energy to the foot with every step. The Adidas Energy Boosts 2.0 ESM also have FORMOTION®, which makes for an easy heel strike to toe off transition.
Obviously I need to work on my run form next!

P.s. Next Monday I plan on posting a few other FALL Favorites, maybe by then Texas will be cooler. Wishful thinking!
Cute clothes! Is it really still 90 degrees? Ugh, come on Texas.
remind me to not complain in winter. LOL!
So ready for cooler temps so I can break out my cute running jackets.
That outfit is super cute and so it the model! Love the matchy matchy.
ahh you are kind. mwah!
That color is KILLER on you! Love the collection!
I LOVE ADIDAS!!! I always say that when I am rich, I will buy tons of super cute work out clothes (Nike and Adidias). I love what you showed off, super cute!
I can’t believe it’s so hot in TX still! My hubs family is in Texas–glad I’m here in Utah right now haha.
maybe we need to come visit you in the Fall! hehe
It def. does not feel like fall here yet, but I can’t wait until it finally does! We have such a short window of cool weather, must take advantage!
yes, is that jan?
Great post, and great pics too. Any tips on how to be such a hot runner? Rawwwrrrr 😉
haha, takes practice?! LOL!
Fall running gear is my favorite! Now that I think about it I love all things fall.
Ew it sounds so hot there. My parents back in Los Angeles have the same problem, yesterday it was like 100 degrees.
Anyways, I love your outfit. Esp the shoes! Love the blue 🙂

eek that’s hot!
C’mon, Texas, get the memo!! I’m ready to DIVE into fall, forget the easing. The weather tempted us the weekend before last and got me excited for my time outside in cooler temps. Love running in cooler weather (I pretty much quit for the summer!)
I love Fall but am not a fan of running in the cold. I need to prepare too because I’m running the Nike Women’s in San Fran next month. I’m sure it’s going to be much cooler than the 80s I’ve been running in here lately!
I’m happy to hear you’re getting your running groove back. It feels good to move your body in a great way again. Take that whatever way you want. 😉
I love fall running and must admit I always add a new piece of gear to the mix 🙂 I’ve never run in Adidas – great looking stuff!
I pretty much go kicking and screaming into cold weather!!! I could live with about 80 year round!
haha 80 is good! 100F, no!
I’m in love with my energy boosts!
yay, we’re twins!
Edmonton is definitely feeling all sorts of gung-ho about fall — most of our trees are already orange, and a lot of them already lost their leaves. Too soon! Fall is my favourite season and I want it to last more than a couple of weeks!l But I definitely hear ya on getting hit with the running bug around this time of the year. Same thing happens to me 🙂
i guess i should have taken that detour!
I love the Stella McCartney tights. Maybe they help my legs look skinny too. I have so much inflammation right now I barely recognize them.
they are the best! i bet you looks smokin hot!
I am so glad that you were able to get all that outdoor time in Colorado…what a wonderful switch up from this heat…I’m OVER IT…Hope you’re having a not so crazy day Crazy Cotter! XOXO
LOVE this fall weather! And I LOVE that adidas jacket! So cute
I hope we can still be friends – but I like it hot! I spent my teen years running track in Abu Dhabi where the temps were often in the 100s – guess I got used to it – now when it’s cooler – like in the 60s, I NEED fleece to run in – am a cold wuss! 🙂
Am loving the look of those shoes!
Arizona hasn’t gotten the memo yet either. I was stoked this morning at 5am when it was only 80 with 50% humidity! I can’t wait for fall temps!!
TX and AZ need to step up! Haha
Literally there I’d nothing better than running in cooler temperatures. It’s beautiful and it’s perfect to match my activity.
As much as I adore Summer, Fall is my favorite season to run in! I don’t have anything new but am looking forward to wearing my skirts with long sleeves! Like a hug in an outfit!
Girl you look good in your workout gear!
I love it ALL!! I’m not quite ready for fall, we’re having some amazing weather right now, we deserve it after the snow storm we had a few weeks ago. But there something about the fall air that breathes life into running. Hopefully I’ll get back at it too… AFTER vacation 😉
those pants are CUUTTEE! i love the cool fall temperatures, too bad boston pretty much goes from summer to winter so quickly! 60 degree running is my favorite!
I have some lovely Tommie Copper gear that I cannot wait to start wearing when it cools down here… and I also have new rain gear.. maybe later today? It is gonna be Fall here soon I think.
I had my first run in ages (weeks – maybe even months?) this weekend! It was gorgeous – unseasonably warm here so maybe that means it’s kinda like how it feels there. 😉 Crunchy leaves underfoot while still being warm? Awesome. Our weather is turning on Wednesday (although we did already receive snow in September…) so I’m getting back out for another run today! 🙂 Love all those clothes – what a great gift from Adidas!
Love this gear! I think I need some new pieces to motivate me this winter… cold weather running is not my favorite. But I do love fall!
So stylish. Always.
I’ll trade you weather, kay?
Beautiful pics! Love those shorts!
HOW CUTE!!!! Well, it is still hot here too so not even thinking about cool weather clothes yet! 🙂
Cute stuff! Love that shade of blue in the top. I have been an Adidas gear fan since my first Boston, where I picked up several pieces and discovered how nice it was.
I think I’ll probably get in my first long-sleeved run this week as we might dip below 50 on a night or two. That’s about where I’d like it to stop, thank you very much!
The pics are SO beautiful and I can not wait to be on vacation again and going for new routes. It is such a BOOST!!
Package on its way 🙂
I just can’t even pretend it’s fall here … 97 on my run yesterday!! I mean, really?! But yes – the Colorado air brought the run passion right out in me, too. Let’s go back, k? 🙂
Love new running gear! Such a great motivational tool for getting going. Fall is my absolute favorite. Can’t wait to wear my Lulu Lemon cooler weather gear I bought back when it was 90+ degrees…I just had to 😉
Love all those pieces!
I totally agree, fall running is 1000x better than summer running. World of difference.
Yep it was 95 here yesterday. Though today? High of 77. Looks like fall did get the memo here after all, or at least for the moment 😉
Those clothes are so cute!! And so are you! Wait, does this mean that it’s going to 90 degree when I visit Austin in a few weeks??!
Colorado has a way of inspiring you to be outside at all times. I wanna go back!!! Heather just needs to buy a community and let us all move in.
ahhh texas.
I NEEEED ME SOME FALL STUFFS for NoCal but am coming to the ATX to visit too—Ill bring the memo 🙂
Ooh I love the jacket, and I’ve heard SUCH amazing things about the Boosts! Haven’t tried them myself yet but people rave about them. Your photos make me want to run all day – literally. Colorado looks gorgeous!
SO CUTE!!
Love the colors–especially the shorts! I’m in Austin so I feel you on the it not being fall yet!
You are so cute…now gotta pack my bags to move to CO!
Once I found the Energy Boosts, I never looked back. I am on my fourth pair and the sock fit and cloud-like cushioning can’t be found in other shoes. That being said, I do need to get the new Boost 2 because lately my heels are feeling like they need alittle more something and I read they updated the heel structure so I assume that will help me. Even when I consider if I should make a shoe switch, I hold back because the way I feel overall and the quality of my runs since wearing Adidas can’t be achieved for me with other brands.
I have this FANTASTIC Pearl Izumi shrug that I bought on sale before last Xmas (and had my husband give to me, you know how it is!) that is perfect for those days when you can’t quite decide. I also love Brooks Arm warmerw with the built in mittens (that you can use or not!)!
Functional + cute = all I ever want. Lol I love the style and colors!
Love the gear! I can’t wait to actually wear layers on a run!
Your pictures are awesome. Love the colours of the Fall season 🙂
Fall is my favorite season for running so naturally getting out the fall and winter gear gets me pumped! All your stuff looks awesome 🙂
