I often think that true inspiration comes from your inner kid, especially when it comes to health and fitness. I can’t tell you the number of times my niece has pulled my hand outside to play and I find myself pretending like I’m a kid at summer camp again. No worries in the world, just FUN in the sun!
Or the number of times my nephew has asked me to make him cookie dough healthy bites and anything else that has to do with chocolate or peanut butter. Which made me get creative in the kitchen and think up this recipe.
This is what I call “KIDSPIRATION!”
When kids inspire you to stay active, have fun, and ENJOY health!
Which leads me to my next KIDSPIRATION –> Kids inspiring kids to be Strong Powerful Athletic Rockin’ Kids. SPARK!
The following post is sponsored by FitFluential LLC on behalf of Camp Spark.

Do you believe in the power of KIDSPIRATION? And just for fun, favorite summer camp memory?
Cheers,
LC
I definitely believe in Kidspiration… Part of the book the Happiness Project is about doing things that you loved as a kid, even if it’s not necessarily “age-appropriate”. There’s nothing better than running around outside!
We don’t have summer camp here in Australia because we don’t have as long a holidays over that time as what you guys do. I HATED school camps growing up as being chubby as a kid and going to a camp that was always guaranteed to have lots of sporty things on I struggled 😉
Favorite summer camp memory was always getting mail:)
This is great! Camp was always my favorite thing as a kid.
“kids INSPIRING each other to BE active, have fun, create friendship, and feel strong!” Yes. Totally! So awesome LC.
Kidspiration! Yes, I am always running around chasing Hunter. He is so much fun to play with and can never get enough of being outside, then bonus it gets me out there too. That program sounds awesome for kids!
i bet he is!! so full of energy. love that!
I would have LOVED something like this as a kid! When my niece is a little older she’ll be coming for visits in the summer, I’d totally sign her up for a day or 2 🙂
oh i wish your niece and you could come! that would be even better. 😉
Love this Lindsay & always love pics of you & your family – so cute!!!
This is awesome!! We hope to one day do something with kids, something for after school.
This makes me smile. I do what I do because I love kids. Training a GOTR team this year was one of the most amazing and rewarding experiences ever. We ran the 5K last weekend!
oh you are amazing! congrats on the 5k!
I literally would be so jealous of kids in America when I was growing up, seeing them go to ‘Camps’ while we were spending our Summer vacations doing….not camp stuff haha!
isn’t it cold there in our summer? you didn’t have ski camp? just kidding!! HA
I never went to a summer camp growing up. I wish Camp SPARK was around back then. I would have begged to go!
I’m not quite sure who liked camp more when I was a little kid… me or my parents 😆 But in all seriousness, I think that the campfires were my favourite camp memories. Just relaxing at the end of the day and enjoying some [perfectly toasted] marshmallows. Also… I need to pick me up some butter extract! Omg 😯
That was the best part! Love campfire songs. Haha I’m a nerd. And the butter extract is what I use for those who can’t have nuts. It makes it taste peanut buttery!!! You must try
I never went to camp growing up – I have looked into many camps over the years for my daughter, wish I had seen this one earlier!
Maybe we all need an adult camp! Haha
What a wonderful idea and I so agree how awesome that it was started by high school kids!!
I think this is awesome. I love that it was started by high school kids.
I love this and think KIDspiration is so important! I just recently found myself thinking back to when I was a kid, and when I would fill my time with reading a book, learning a new song out of my favorite song book, or just flipping through a cookbook. I have gotten away from so many of the things I love recently because I constantly feel like I have to be “working” or “productive.” Definitely something I am going to change NOW 🙂 AND that cookie dough smoothie sounds fabulous!
ahh yes! those were the days!
Kidspiration <3 I love it. Nothing excites me more than playing with kiddos in the outdoors!
i knew you’d love!
This camp sounds wonderful! I love the fact that it encourages kids to get out, get moving and get social, which is way more healthier than sitting on the couch playing a video game or watching TV!
exactly!!! so my point as well
oh man! this is an amazing idea!!
So sweet. I agree, we learned all the things we need to learn as a kid! Play, sleep, listen to your tummy!
I absolutely love this concept! What a cool camp. I hope it gets lots of leverage and catches on like wildfire!
Yes- kidspiration is definitely a thing! My niece always wants me to chase her…barefoot in the grass in summer, around the house in winter. She could go for hours. Her smile, laugh, and pure enjoyment are inspiring!
I LOVE active summer camp!
I went to a camp just for a week when I was growing up. When I was 18 I worked at an all summer camp in Pennsylvania as a lifeguard. I have so many amazing memories from it!
i think our nieces need to play together and then we can play! haha
I never went to summer camp. I was so incredibly, painfully shy that the mere thought would have sent me into a tailspin! I was always jealous of the kids who went though.
Kids sit in classrooms al year, and if their lucky their school still has a small PE program, but maybe once a week. Spending their summer active and with other kids is so important! Plus most kids LOVE high school aged kids– something about the fact that their older but still kids is very appealing to little ones.
The summer camp I attended had this giant mud pit we’d play tug-of-war over. Best. Camp Game. Ever.
oh my gosh! Can i still go? LOL!
Yay for the kids — keep ’em busy this summer! Uh, you’ll see me and my entourage of children at WB every day starting in June
I have way too many amazing summer camp memories to pick just one! The years I spent at summer camp helped to positively form me into the person I am today. Camp taught me to seek adventure, try new things, and foster my my relationship with God, an invaluable experience.
oh i love that! me too! i went to a christian kamp called kanakuk.
I didn’t go to camp a lot growing up – maybe that’s why my boys don’t really ever want to go to camps?!
That camp sounds pretty incredible!!
Kidspiration is the best! I try to bring the kid out of my clients. To let lose and run wild and free! My niece is the best too! The perfect excuse to pretend you’re at summer camp.
like phoebe in that friends episode, right? haha
Butter extract? I swear I learn something new every time I visit. I think as adults we should all just reconnect with our inner Kid. It would solve so many issues. Now, just to listen to my own advice…
i use it when i want things to taste more like a cake, cookie, or dough. soooo good!
This is awesome! If we lived closer, this is something I would be interested in for Drake! Your such a great auntie & those kids are so blessed to have you 🙂 I love the idea of having fun outside & playing instead of working out. I can’t imagine how much time we will spend outside this summer… Drake is learning how to open the front door because he loves it out there so much! Plus he think he’s getting dessert with those healthy bites 😉
oh i so wish you did!!
This is awesome! My favorite summer camp memory is late night Capture the Flag through the woods. I wonder if they still let kids loose like we were?!
I love fit camps like these for kids – start early!
How fun!! My boys attend a baseball camp run by college players and they love it! It’s great to see kids inspiring and playing with younger kids 🙂
This is awesome! I loved camp when I was as a kid, and I think the craft sessions were probably my favourite things to do – pretty sure I made enough friendship bracelets to cover my entire arm one summer!
i was all about sports camps growing up!
Camp is the best. As much as I hated the heat and getting sweaty (and dirty lol) it is the best for kids and truly creates the fondest of memories. I can’t pinpoint my best memory but when I had my son, I knew he would go to camp every summer as soon as he was old enough. We are counting the days for school to end and camp to begin!
woohoo!! which camp?
Love kid friendly foods because you realize we are all just big kids! Would love to have that camp in VA. Will have to look them up as bring them here myself!
