Bolder Blogging: Embrace your Space

Avatar photo

by Lindsay Cotter Posted: February 4, 2014

Hi. Welcome to another BOLDER BLOGGER post.

bold blogging

This is my space. I’ve been here for 5 years. Yup, since 2009. Did you know I actually started by guest posting recipes on the kiwi’s first blog? Then I moved to my own blog.

old blog

Then here –> self hosted.

new blog

This is my space. I am not big blogger (trust me, stats are deceiving). But I do DREAM BIG… wait.. I should rephrase that.

WE DREAM BIG.

swim

This is my space. I invite you here. Come as you are.

Do not feel the need to comment. Only feel welcomed. But if you want to comment, you know I welcome that too!

This space is to share our dream in hopes that it encourages other people’s dreams. Together we find encouragement.

This is my space. I talk a lot about what I am passionate about and that includes my husband, his career, being sherpa wife, my faith, fitness, running, and gluten free eating. I won’t be offended if you don’t “get” me. I’m crazy corny Cotter.

crazy

This is my space. I’ve shifted focus so many times in “this space.” And I’m doing once again. From selling healthy bites to creating my recipes, ebooks, and so on. Yes this is my space. I want to utilize. I want to profit from it (God willing) in order to support my husband. In order to support us. That’s part of our dreaming big.

photo 2

This is my space. How long will I be here? I don’t know. Sometimes I’ll post a lot, and sometimes my space needs space, haha. But I know that I continue to share here because of this amazing community. Winking smile

blend

This is my space. It’s an open space. Free to talk real. Free to vent. Free to celebrate. Free to be JOYFUL.

Thank you Shannon for this Pic!

This is my space and you know what? ……………

There’s always a spot for you.

Cheers,

Corny Cotter

Ahh. Thank you for the reminder. As a fellow seasoned (not-big) blogger I’ve had the same growing pains.
I just gotta let my space … simple be.

    Thanks.

This is why yours is one of my favorite blogs. You’re genuine because you’re YOU, not because you’re trying to be “authentic” (hate how that word is overused!). Even as a new little tadpole in the blogger-pond, I always feel comfortable reading/commenting here in your space.

You’re hospitable, and I love it. Thanks for opening up this space to us. 🙂

    Confession:
I have a blog and I am really trying to embrace my space but something is not gelling like it used to…. yet? I think it may be the layout, but it may be more of a loss of why I am blogging. That feeling has been in the gut but seeing this post really bought it to my attention. Must figure this out eventually.

Awww … sweet post. I always come by to check on gluten-free ideas 🙂 I think the topic of this post is very important. Years ago when blogs first came on the scene (I’m old! haha) … they were more journalistic and diary oriented. There are some I’ve followed for years and the morphing/change is very normal. We all grow and change as humans, it wouldn’t make sense for the blog not to do the same. Keep up staying true to you and your dreams!

I have really tried to embrace my blog in the same way, too. It has been good, it has been bad, there have been times (last year) that I lost it and only posted a few times a month but, as many times as it changes, I know it’s still here for me and the wonderful friends I’ve made through it are still out there and it’s a great feeling!
