Alright, so I confess. I jumped the bandwagon. You see, the hubs was away this weekend so that left me with three things that I like to do why flying solo.
- Catch up on work, clean, and bake like crazy so that he returns with lots of good food at hand.
- Spend some “me” time watching chick flicks, a little yoga, and/or grabbing coffee with a friend. Mel, you better be free later!
- Catch up on blogs, TO DIE FOR bandwagon recipes, and just plain dilly dallying.
So let’s go ahead and skip to #3!
So here goes nothing. Lets see if you can pay attention here.
- I’m have a slight obsession with condiments. I almost need a whole separate plate just for them at dinner. Here’s my favorite!
- I like small fruits only. Small apples, small banana, small mangoes, kiwi, plums, apricots. I think it’s the “cute” factor.
- The Hubs played the “accent” card when I first met him and I totally fell for it. He’s from New Zealand. Nowadays, the accent is gone. Hmmm…….funny how that works.
- We have 10 different jars of nut butters in our house. The hubs and I keep a specific spare spoon out right by the jars so we can grab some throughout the day. Don’t worry, we clean it every time. It’s our own Nut Butter spoon!
- We want to move back to New Zealand. I’m hoping we get to do that this next year!
- I own a small business call HEALTHY BITES. It’s just a local operation right now but I make gluten free snack balls/bites. I started doing this two years ago when the hubs needed better fuel/recovery options for his training. The gluten filled processed bars did not leave him feeling great on and after hard training sessions. Maybe some day I’ll share more about Healthy Bites on the blog. For now, if you’re in Austin, feel free to check out Facebook for orders!
- I pray when I run outside. No iPod, just me and God. Let’s just say he’s gotten an earful lately when I’m out on my long runs. hehe!
Okay, I would tag a few people but I’m sure everyone has already done this. Either way, jump on the bandwagon and do it yourself if you have not. I’d love to learn more random facts about ya!
My tags-
- Kath- My funny Little Life
- Marathon Maiden
- Mama Runs Barefoot
- Eden (you know you want to Eden. hehe!)
- Livi- Little Health Junkie
- Chuck- Fearless Food
- Jen- Peas and Crayons
I think that’s about all the productivity I can take for a Sunday. A shower has got to fit in there too at some point.
Cheers,
LC

I am going to have to get on this socca bandwagon soon. Really soon. Like, making a special grocery store run today soon. ;)Hubby and I also have a specific nut butter spoon! It happens to be the biggest one we own. 😀
ya, he's a clever kiwi! The accent is right back on when he's around family or when we're in NZ. I think he should be an actor for that! haha. Lindsay ________________________________
you know it! You'd have a free place for sure!! Gosh I just love that place. 🙂 Lindsay ________________________________
I know, what a clever guy, eh? Whenever I see your man on our blog, i think that he has an accent. He just looks the part. hehe! Lindsay ________________________________

well I can't wait to read about your 11 things! And for praying, I usually just talk to God. In my head and sometimes out loud, haha. People must think I 'm crazy when I do that. Love it. But really, I talk to him about what I might be struggling with, with i am thankful for, etc. He's a good Listener.;) Lindsay ________________________________

socca…never tried and I can't wait to test that out! I think James has a Texas meets NZ accent- it's like a combo of the two- call it the 'New Texas' accent 😉
What do you have in mind? And you got my link wrong FYI 😉
Thats hilarious that his accent is gone now, haha….
I've got to admit, I had never heard of Socca and will have to do a bit of reading to figure it out. Back to NZ?! So exciting for you and James. Glad for the blogging world though to make new friends and stay in touch even when distance doesn't make it possible to stay close. I owe you an email back too on how I incorporate some of that core and glute stuff…I haven't forgotten. This is the first I have been on the actual computer in 3 days! It's been a nice little break from the big tech gadgets even though I have still been using my phone for Facebook and twitter!

Yes, we love our butters. Gotta have variety, right? Oh and i just forgot…..its staple sunday! must go check that out! Lindsay ________________________________
I bet they have it in brazil. If not, toast some chickpeas, then grind in the food processor. That might work! Lindsay ________________________________
did you make your socca pizza casserole again? That looked so good! And yes, the hubs loses his accent when he's in the states. As soon as he talks to his brother, mom, or dad….BAM, its back. Such a player! haha. Lindsay ________________________________
There is such a connection when you run outside or on the trails. Its so peaceful. The "dreadmill" is a whole other story. haha. Lindsay ________________________________
yes, socca is our "bread" too. And there is on piece left. Hmmm…..I should be a good wife and save it for him. Glad to hear we have the same "processing" runs. Now if only we could run together. It's be so peaceful! Lindsay ________________________________
So, I have to admit, I like small fruit too- haha- I think it really is the cute factor 🙂 & I do that with nut butter spoons too!! Craig always laughs at my habit of just randomly walking in the kitchen to grab a spoonful of peanut butter…but, I can't get enough of it! :)I love that you pray when you run outside! I think it's such a nice time to just have 'you & God' time- I also do that when I'm outside. I used to ALWAYS run with my ipod, but now I can enjoy nature & just thinking about life.
i totally want a boy with an accent. you should make him talk with it forever. and ever. and ever.
I love mini fruit too! I eat so many apple bananas every time I go back to Hawaii. Moving to NZ would be so exciting I would love to read about your blogging adventures there!
Awesome, Lindsay! And thank you for tagging me! :DI've seen socca quite a lot recently, it seems to be nice! And mini fruit, haha, now I understand the baby mangoes!
Girl, I can't get enough enough condiments either. They really just complete meals!Loved all the random facts – it's so fun getting to know bloggers a little bit better through posts like this! Hope you had a lovely weekend.
I almost died without your blog this weekend!!! That socca looks amazing! Ketchup should be added to every food item possible. I will seriously come visit you when you move to New Zealand…I hope you are okay with that! 10 nut butter jars=heaven. Praying while running is the best. This weekend was the opposite for me though…..I was cursing ha, that is probably why I didn't do so well. Just want you to know that I am addicted to you and your blog and that you are the most gorgeous thing ever.
Socca is so good! I'm such a fan of chickpea flour…sadly my husband is not…maybe i'll sneak it on him and see if he changes his mind!
I keep hearing about Socca on people's blogs too. Might have to climb on the bandwagon with ya! Moving to NZ?!?! WOW! As long as you keep blogging, you can go 😉
Nooo don't move to New Zealand – Stay in TEXASSS 🙂 But one a side note, your socca looks really good – I have never tried it before and have been seeing a lot of recipes for it lately – I guess I should give it a try!
Whoops! I'll fix that. Maybe a homemade nut butter trade? Hehe! Whatever its worth to u.
oh its a lot harder than it looks to make. I hear ya. Its all about the flip. I used a smaller pan so it was easier to flip.:) Lindsay ________________________________
LOL! me too! I also like banana kinda green. I'm picky when it comes to fruit. 🙂 Lindsay ________________________________
I did 1 cup flour, 2 each tbsp brewers yeast/ peanut flour, and then a little over 1 1/2 cup water. Came out a little thin but I was going for a thinner crust. Let me know if you try it! Lindsay ________________________________

I loved the about you part! The accent will get you every time! I am a sucker for socca! I love chickpea flour in my waffles! It is my all time favorite flour. Enjoy the rest of your weekend and I hope the hubs has a safe trip home!
I hope you enjoyed your "me" time this weekend! Although I have to admit if I lived in Austin, I'd have come over to hang out with you and eat yummy food. Running is one of my favorite times to talk to God! Hope hubs gets home tonight so y'all can hang and maybe watch the Oscars!? xo
I love SO MUCH that you pray when you run!! You are such an inspiration to me Lindsay:)
Bwaahahaha, I like your list! I'm going to have to check out Healthy Bites!
Yay for socca! I'm gonna bust some moves in the kitch in a little bit and make Mama Pea's cereal! Mmm!You know, in the last video you posted of the hubs, I was super excited to get to hear his accent and then totally bummed (and confused) when I realized he didn't have one! What's the deal? Guys with accents are so schmexy! Lol
Seriously, I can't make socca… I have tried about 10x now… what's wrong with me??????????? I LOVE hearing facts about my blogger friends!! The cute fruit one is awesome!!
I am all for the small fruits, too! I get irritated when I go to buy bananas and there are no descent, smallish ones available.
Great post!!!That socca looks yummy….hope I can get my hands on some chickpea flour!Hope you have a restful Sunday!
we're still debating! Maybe NC first, then New Zealand for part of the year. I so want to come to NC!!! Lindsay ________________________________

Love your pictures, I have never heard of Socca but it looks delicious!!! I hope you had a great hubs-free weekend girl. Your facts were a lot of fun to read 🙂
Aw, I was hoping you were going to move to NC! But you've got to do what's right for you! 🙂
WOAH 10 jars! that is WHAT I'm TALKIN' BOUT!!!!!! i absolutely love it 😀 Healthy Bites sounds so so cool!!!! i would love to have something like that someday!
your socca looks amazing! What are the measurements? I'm unsure of how much liquid to add!
My favorite on this list? That you pray when you run – I think that is just so cool. It's the perfect time for it too…just you and your thoughts and your breath. Love that. Also – random that you "only" like small fruits. You are so random!!
the first time I made socca I ate it all before Jason got home… I had to make more that night, and between that and my spinach pancakes, that is our "bread" all the time! :)oh, wow! I think I like your #7 the best… I never have iPod for outdoor runs, because it's my "process time"… I've had many conversations with God.
I want that ketchup!
