I had this idea. An idea for a weekend post. You know, the ones that are simple, light hearted, and usually have a theme. So go with me here.
One Word Weekend.
Yes, one word. Pick one. One that you want either focus on , one that has been hanging around your head lately, or one that motivates you.
Mine was ACCEPT or ACCEPTANCE.
I like to think I have accepted a lot of things in life, but then THIS TRUTH pops up and I realize there is so much more to accept. #truth
I’ve accepted a lot of GREAT products lately. And I’ve also accepted the fact that I might be addicted to them. Mila stirred into a chobani yogurt bowl with fresh papaya is absolutely addicting. I’ve also accepted the fact that my nieces and nephews like me more when I bring them these goodies.
I’ve accepted the fact that I get lazy in the kitchen come Friday. Instead of GF Pizza dough from scratch, I resorted to sprouted corn tortillas as a pizza crust. #DELICIOUS
I’ve accepted the fact that I’m cheap. Why get a real hair cut when a bang trim can spice things up, right? Or make you look 12 yrs old again. ha! Either way, it’s a “cut” of some sort.
I’ve accepted the fact that my husband is in a hunk and is great with kids. I’ve also accepted the fact that I am brilliant for marrying him.
But the one thing, the very ONE thing, that I was not able to accept this weekend was this….
A broken jar of Birthday Nutty Butter delivered by the postman. Shame on him! Doesn’t he know that Nutty Butter is like gold around here? So Sarah, I tried to save it.
Okay.. your turn. One word weekend… GO!
Cheers,
Corny Cotter

Love this post Lindsay. So sorry about the nut butter. Darn it. My word is trust. Trust in Him, in your heart, in yourself, in life, in love….. The list goes on.
Hugs!!!

TRUST IS KEY! I agree! Hugs and congrats on you race.
oh i love this!-trust good one
I love it! One word weekend
Have you ever seen Angel Cards? They’re a bunch of little cards the size of a fortune out of a fortune cookie, that each have one word on them, like Grace, Abundance, Love, Harmony etc. There are at least 25 words. My Godmother and I used to pull a card everyday and then share our words with eachother over email, and what we felt they meant for that day, or how we would incorporate the words into our day. Your One Word Weekend just reminded me of that. Thank you! So I just pulled a card and the word is Purpose.

oh i love this idea! Where do you get these cards. And i love what word you pulled. Purpose… such a good one to live by!
I can’t remember where I got mine but I’m going to try and find them and I would be happy to send you a pack! A very merry un-birthday (remember Alice in Wonderland at the Mad Hatter’s tea party?) prezzie
greengirlrunning recently posted..CIM Training Week 3
oh yo don’t have to send me a pack. You are too kind. Maybe i can find them here.
I found them! http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0934245509/ref=gno_cart_title_2

I love your acceptances
I accept that I’m lazy about cooking dinner just about every weeknight – and the one word to sum up the weekend here is, at last, HOT!
Eleanor recently posted..In closing
oh i feel ya on that one!
Love your word choice… it makes such a difference when I can accept where I’m at in life, instead of trying to change it or looking ahead. It was our last weekend with my parents before we head back to Texas, so I was focused on trying to be present, in one word I guess, be.

oh my gosh yes, i just read a devotional about this. Spot on!… BE
Tragic about the nutty butter, but you bangs look SO cute! So pretty on you, Lindsay

Such a great post! I’d be pretty upset about that broken nutty bar jar too! Your family is so cute!

Acceptance…such a great word that can be used for so many things. I love your pizza idea.

Aww sorry about the nut butter! Tortillas as pizza crust = my favorite.. Quick and easy!
My one word = love. I’m trying to focus on one fruit of the spirit per week
Allie recently posted..Banana Zucchini Bread
what a great idea allie. I just LOVE your heart.
Who doesn’t want to be 12 years old again?
And GRACIOUS, the nut butter fiasco would have made me crazy.

this is true. 12, no worries, but i could do without the puberty part. LOL
I am reading a book about commitment and acceptance therapy – you’d probably love it. It’s called the Happiness Trap.
My weekend word should come as no surprise – RELAX. And I am!! I went for an awesome hike yesterday evening, after doing some shopping and then ate a great home cooked meal with some home brewed wine. It was a very Lindsey evening. Garlic chili lime stir fry with prawns and syrah. YUM.
Today = shopping!!

What a beautiful post. You’re such a lovely, inspiring lady! xo
christina recently posted..The Friday Five 8.17.12
aww, nah. Youre lovely. And funny. Two very ACCEPTING features.
I love this post too, except for the broken nut butter part. It’s true – kids like you better when you bring presents, especially those that can be enjoyed immediately. My sister’s boyfriend made the mistake of bringing our boys dinosaur eggs that they had to wait 24 hours before they would “hatch” – OMG I thought the boys were going to explode! LOL.
Christine @ Love, Life, Surf recently posted..Friday Round-Up and The Mizuno Mezamashii Project Giveaway
LOL!!! I bet they watched those eggs all night. Or maybe you did? Note to self, always bring gifts that are instant gratification.
I may have “helped” the dinosaur eggs along a little bit. Just a little

And again you slay me with your posts LOL. I love the word acceptance. I think my word for the weekend is TRUST as well. I have to learn to trust myself more and mostly others and as always God b/c I know he knows what I need before I ask and I need to TRUST that. This is always something I struggle with but I’m working on it as I know it will help me on this journey. Sorry about your Nutty Butter
and the bangs are way cute on you
!
trust is always a good one. One we need to focus on weekly, yes?
I am so with you on the acceptance thing! I am accepting the fact that we are not doing anything but working this weekend. This is the life we have chosen and sometimes you have to give up your weekends. I’ve also accepted the fact that I married an amazing man that is willing to give up his weekend to take care of his family. Life is pretty good these days!
Sarena (The Non-Dairy Queen) recently posted..Cupcakes For My Birthday Boy!
ditto! Working weekend, but at least we’re in good company with a good hubby by our side. Yes?
I am a little late to the game.. but my word for this weekend has been… relax.. I have had energy work done, a massage,,, and made no plans with anyone.. I have been exercising,,but instead of pushing thru a run.. taking a leisurely hike, grounding yoga instead of power.. taking naps.. lots of water..
relax…
those are the best weekends, relaxing yet active recovery. <3
Looooove those bangs on you! Perfect! I love the Greek yogurts too. I’ll have to try the seeds!

I like Stuftmama’s response. My word is thankful. I’m thankful to run a bucket list relay this weekend, thankful for a hard-working husband who allows me to pursue my dreams. I agree you have a great one in James–go you!

Oh noooo!! I would have been soososo upset if my bday jar of goodness broke!! UGH!! At least you have a hunky husband to make it all better
! I love the bangs, you are adorable.
yes, a hunky husband makes up for a loss of nutty butter. thank goodness! hehe
Yikes — broken jars at delivery, no fun!!
I love using tortillas as pizza crust — they make for such an easy dinner!
Love the new hair! I’ve wanted to get bangs for a couple years but I always hesitate because I feel like they might bother me while working out? You let me know!
Liz (Little Bitty Bakes) recently posted..Running in Europe
you should get them LIz. I bet Bangs would look adorable on you!! they don’t bother me when working out either.
again we are of different faiths and you always remind me we are all the same.

LOVE your bangs. Totally cute. What a great theme. Acceptance is something I need to learn how to do because I can’t control everything ever.
Calee (@chimes) recently posted..Dad + Running
you are right, we can’t control everything. It’s a good thing too, sometimes we’re best just accepting it and moving on, right?
I just came across your blog and LOVE IT! you are so funny! I love that you said you have accepted that you are brialliant for marrying your husband, HA! so something I would say about dating my boyfriend, Nick
oh, and my 5 neices and nephew only like me, too, when I bring goodies, and 2 of them are in HIGH SCHOOL now, ha.
Eva @ Committed2Nutrition recently posted..Marvelous Monday – Weekend Style
oh well i am glad i found you too Eva! oh and thanks for the nieces tip, i’ll keep bringing them goodies till college. haha.
my word for the weekend is appreciate. I’m appreciating any days I get to relax and spent time with the BF when we’re both busy with our careers. I’m learning to appreciate what I have, and appreciate what I can and cannot afford. I’m also trying to appreciate that all the things I want for the future will come with time!
Alysia @ Slim Sanity recently posted..intense incline treadmill workout
amen to that! appreciate the small things, the little time we have together, and patience. xxoo
Your word reminds me of one thing I’m struggling with right now. ACCEPTING this path that the hubs and I are on right now. It’s a true test of our faith, of blinding accepting that which we cannot see…and knowing that all will be ok in the end.
Jess recently posted..How did we get here?!
Cute bangs! I love the acceptance theme. My one word weekend would have to be busy! I was in Boston for work and managed to squeeze in a work dinner, seeing my dad, seeing 3 friends from home, and some shopping. All in 24 hours.
Sad about the nut butter!
Amy
@Chobani
looks like you were busy with all GOOD stuff and GOOD people. Perfect Amy!
My one word for last weekend was…stillness. Trying to be still. It didn’t work very well, but it is something I’m aiming for.
Also aiming to make another special delivery when I can! BLASTED postal service.
Next time, a box!
Sarah @ The Smart Kitchen recently posted..Maple Dijon-Dressed Quinoa Salad with Caperberries, Olives, and Broccoli
