DYK Weekend

by LCCotter on July 14, 2012

I’m trying something new. So just go it. K? We’re having some fun this Saturday and playing a little game of DYK (Did you know).

Did you know that today is Bastille Day in France? And it just so happens to be one of my favorite stages of the TDF (Tour de France). Maybe because I just adore the French Coast and cute cyclists in spandex.

Capture

Did you know that there is a new milk in town? Yes, nut free/dairy free/grain free/gluten free. SUNFLOWER SEED Milk! I just bought and will bust it open later with a smoothie. Stay tuned!

Did you know that I tried out this new protein to use in my vegan healthy bite orders? Yes, and guess what? It’s delicious! It has a very similar amino acid and BCAA content as whey. I approve!

Did you know I was half awake here? Thursday morning was hard (blame allergies). I was about to teach cycle/yoga and yawning like crazy. But guess what? The “instructor’s high” kicked and I was good to go about 5 minutes into class. That’s what I call a FAKE it TILL ya MAKE IT situation. Winking smile

IMG_20120712_074755

Did you know they we’ve kinda been obsessed with organic cultured sour cream and buttermilk lately. So happy it’s back in the diet. You can read more about all the GUT HAPPY benefits of this cultured goodness HERE!

IMG_20120712_130957

Speaking of food, we’ve also been obsessed with all things grilled. Grilled corn, zucchini, tomatoes, etc..

IMG_20120713_120246

Did you know you can grill cake and French toast too? Check out all the foods you can grill HERE.

And lastly, did you know that this devotional is amazing? Well now you know, and you should read it!

IMG_20120713_061859

Your turn.

Give me a little DYK fun fact this weekend!

Cheers,

LC (aka Corny Cotter)

I’ve only recently started grilling veggies…and I LOVE sweet potatoes and zuch/squash…oh, and kale. Heather got me there. Haha. It’s so much easier to grill things than to make a million dirty dishes.

When I get back from Chicago…I’m ordering some bites. Hold me to that.

I’ve decided that from now on, every night I’ll be reading a devotional before bed. It’ll be a peaceful way to wind down, I think. Do you prefer a certain time to do them?

PS: KISS! :D

Oh yes, it’s all about the Tour around here too : ) My hubby says it’s like January at the gym when he’s out for a ride. He’s glad though that it brings attention to the sport because he does love his riding.

I’ll have to check out that pea protein! Right now I’m using Sun Warrior Warrior Blend. I like it a lot because it also is grain-free, gluten-free, etc.

Thanks a bunch for including your little devotion! I really feel the Lord is speaking to me about my habit of trying to take care of my problems and worries on my own instead of turning to Him. That’s just what I needed!
